How to view ENGINE TEMP on a MINI COOPER S R56 (2007-2013)

- On the Mini Cooper S R56, it doesn’t have a display to show you straight away your engine temperature.
This short clip will show you the simple steps in which you follow to view the temperature of your engine. Once you have followed the steps, and your engine temperature is displayed, this will be displayed until you switch off the car so next time you’ll have to get it up manually again, which is annoying.

It’s easier to launch a space shuttle than to check engine temp in a Mini. I would like to meet the guy at BMW who thought that this was a good process to follow.
They should have at least just added this to one of the standard stalk commands, the amount of times i wondered why there was no temp indication, scary.

I can't check my temp but I have a stupid worthless gauge telling me how long I've had the top down.

I've had issues with my engine overheating the past year, and friends have been SHOCKED when I tell them I don't have an easily accessible temp. gauge. It's stressful 😬

Its pretty easy just remember 19 is linked to the vin and the 7 shows the stats

Not all minis work this way. The one I’m. Working on has its button on the end of the turn signal

Where is the temp gauge in a mini r60
Buy an Ultra gauge it can tell u everything they are like 80 US , worth their weight in gold !! I got my car Easter weeekend 104 k first thing i bought. But really tells me whats up when the light comes on and you can set 8 pages to monitor. Saves on the meltdowns.

Yes it’s possible.It’s not that hard you just need to navigate a little bit on the infotainment screen

My 2007 s does not show me the temp any one knows why ?
If you followed these steps, it should. Make sure you’re on the same menu as shown in my video.
With my mini I hold the button on the right but nothing happens. I did it while engine was running. Does this make a difference. Cld it be interfered by my service light or the tyre pressure sensor warning?
@@minimyles8257 that is weird? I don’t think warning lights should stop you but maybe get the lights checked and cleared then try again just in case.
So everytime u need to check the motor temperature u have to repeat all these steps?😅
@@Ceycee unfortunately yes, for some reason they didn’t include a simple gauge like other manufacturers.
