royal jexu I'm not Tmo but a fellow trumpet player and my advice to you is to just play. Focus on the music and nothing else. It's just you in a black room and your music. Nothing is in front of you nor behind you. This is cliche as all hell but just focus on the music and the conductor (if ur playing in a band) and nothing else

ermine reddock Thanks I also needed that advice! I get so nervous during tests for band and I play trumpet.
royal jexu if you can play, there is no reason to be nervous! Just do it a couple of times and you'll be more and more confident. Make a mistake? No worries, everybody does. So do I. Just don't make the mistake again next time. Mistakes are things you can learn from. Just trust in yourself. At least I do :)

If you want to answer or anyone else how do you hit high notes easier
+Grizzly the great just practice a lot. When you have a good airflow, high notes will be easier. You could also try some different mouthpieces. But, is playing high notes the most important?
Grizzly the great you want your bottom lip to go vertical to your top lip you want your bottom lip to do more work and angle your Trumpet down a bit (the last one may help depending on how you set your mouthpiece if it's lower than the middle this works) as so as you get to middle C or everything you hit above that's pinched and your air to increase its speed to back those notes up now this doesn't mean play obnoxiously loud. breath before you play and from your diafram/stomach
