When I accepted Islam In October this year, one of the many concerns I had was giving up Christmas. In this video I go though the reasons why (even for cultural reasons) I felt tha I could no longer continue celebrating it.

The quran is a copy and paste of Judaism and christianity with mythical stories and urban legends. The virgin birth the abraham sacrifice story food being sent from heaven manu salwa for moses or musa and his followers. God raining down stones on the people of lot for being gay! Adam and eve naked in the garden of eden although eve is not mentioned in the quran. All these stories are pure fiction.

I am an Australian revert as well. The hardest part for me has been trying to practice my faith whilst not hurting my family. There is always a way to find balance and peace, this is what I have found through Islam. I still have lunch with my family but do not celebrate at all, I do not buy gifts etc and make sure I never say ‘merry Christmas’. This coming Ramadan I encourage you to make it such a big deal! It’s a whole month of celebration! You can find so many fun family traditions to begin.
Just spend ur family time when christmas day like holiday and make happpy,

I advice you to visit your family on days other then Christmas because maintaining ties of kinship is part of Islam.
Just do your practice ...couse Allah know what you did and you Will get pay one day.and for kost of people who doesn't Islam...the are very scared and that's your challenge.and Allah Will ride down all thing that you did.just believe to your heart.🙏🙏🙏

MaShaAllah TabarakAllah. I can only imagine how hard it was for you to think about giving up Christmas in the beginning. My family was never super serious about Christmas, even before I became a muslim. But even then, for me it was a little hard. In that sense it is really sad that some born muslims, who have no connection to Christmas, feel like they have to celebrate it, in order to "fit in". I approach Christmas in a similar way like you nowadays, and I have never regretted it ☺️ May Allah (swt) bless you and reward you and your family!

@Jomy Mathew I would recommend you to learn a little bit about how to start and run a constructive and civilized discussion. Writing multiple comments with walls of text makes it very obvious that you are not interested in such a thing. Rather it seems like you are scared of actual replies to your points, since it is pretty clear that nobody has the time to deal with your badly formatted comments. I didn't read them, just so you know - and most other people won't either.

I'm a new revert as well from Christianity. Jesus (pbuh) never taught to celebrate his birthday. It's simply business like there's a whole industry which sells idols of Jesus while Bible is sternly against it. And yes, it's pretty much well established that, the origin of Christmas is 100% associated with ancient paganism. Before embracing Islam this is one of the things I've discovered. May Allah bestows his Mercy on all of us.

As a revert myself I think it was hard at first but when learning about Prophet Issa (PBUH) in the Quran I appreciate him more alhamduillah

Prophet Issa is not Jesus. He is a fictional character created by devil to make them believe that they are on the right path. You made a mistake by converting to Islam. The doors of salvation opens through Jesus.

John14v6: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
If you want to know if the Lord Jesus is God, here it is, plain like black on white.
John 14v9: Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
No man who ever lived or lives on this earth can say such a thing except Jesus alone because He is God.
Some will challenge this saying "Oh Jesus said: 18“Why do you call Me good?” “No one is good except God alone." (Mark 10v18).
Well in fact what the Lord Jesus is doing here, he is addressing to the Jews by just playing on words. He is telling them you call me good but you do not believe that I am God (remember they stoned him for saying He is the Son of God). Yet you call me good, however no one is good except God. So here he is clearly confronting the jews about their belief of who He is. He is God because only God is good.
And if you are not convinced yet, then read John 11v25.
John 11v25: Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. 26And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” Only God alone is life and can give life to someone. So Jesus is Lord and God.
No wonder Thomas said in John 20v28 “My Lord and my God!”
And our Lord Jesus did not rebuke him, instead Jesus said "Now you believe?” (I am paraphrasing)
Read it for yourself in John 20v27-29
27Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!”
29Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” …
So my friend STOP doubting. Just believe. He is our Saviour and Lord. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Praise be to his name. God bless you and may our Lord Jesus open the eyes of your mind.It’s not about challenges but about revelation.

I also got chills when you said just because people have forgotten the origins of the xmas tree “doesn’t mean ALLAH has”. You’re right, if hurts to think that we as Muslims would consider engaging in something that upsets and displeases our Creator who brought us into existence when were nothing and favoured us with belief in Him and honoured us with Islam💓

She has not yet received the revelation from God. She only reasons intellectually. So sorry for her. But if you want to know what is the prerequisite to go to heaven and not to hell, here is the answer:
John14v6: Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
If you want to know if the Lord Jesus is God, here it is, plain like black on white.
John 14v9: Jesus replied, “Philip, I have been with you all this time, and still you do not know Me? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
No man who ever lived or lives on this earth can say such a thing except Jesus alone because He is God.
Some will challenge this saying "Oh Jesus said: 18“Why do you call Me good?” “No one is good except God alone." (Mark 10v18).
Well in fact what the Lord Jesus is doing here, he is addressing to the Jews by just playing on words. He is telling them you call me good but you do not believe that I am God (remember they stoned him for saying He is the Son of God). Yet you call me good, however no one is good except God. So here he is clearly confronting the jews about their belief of who He is. He is God because only God is good.
And if you are not convinced yet, then read John 11v25.
John 11v25: Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in Me will live, even though he dies. 26And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” Only God alone is life and can give life to someone. So Jesus is Lord and God.
No wonder Thomas said in John 20v28 “My Lord and my God!”
And our Lord Jesus did not rebuke him, instead Jesus said "Now you believe?” (I am paraphrasing)
Read it for yourself in John 20v27-29
27Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.”
28Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God!”
29Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” …
So my friend STOP doubting. Just believe. He is our Saviour and Lord. He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Praise be to his name. God bless you and may our Lord Jesus open the eyes of your mind.It’s not about challenges but about revelation.

You have come so far in such a short amount of time it's so inspirational. Many Muslims celebrate Christmas, not knowing its origins and history. They are celebrating something that is linked to one of the biggest sins - shirk (which is actually the biggest sin someone can commit). My family and I decorate out house in Ramadan with twinkle lights and lanterns .. navy blue and red, sometime green and yellow.. last Ramadan we went for gold and gray ! 🤍🤍🤍🤍✨ it felt magical < we decorate it to make young ones enjoy it + remind us to not break our fast accidentally .. 😂🤍 .. also you’ll appreciate food and make deferent delicious dishes ..
Oh and Eid .. 😭♥️✨✨✨✨ it’s the happiest time of year ! Specially EID AL FETER ! All the families gather and we get money and presents from everybody and everyone ..

Well, hijab is mandatory for muslim women to wear it.muslim women don't have to show their hairs and beauty to strangers.mother Mary used to wear hijab and cover her hair's too.Bible says women should cover their heads if not their heads should be shaved off.
God says in Quran to prophet Muhammad peace be upon him:

In Surah 33:59 Muhammad is commanded to ask his family members and other Muslim women to wear outer garments when they go out, so that they are not harassed:[22]
O Prophet! Enjoin your wives, your daughters, and the wives of true believers that they should cast their outer garments over their persons (when abroad): That is most convenient, that they may be distinguished and not be harassed

Mashallah. It was hard for me to stop celebrating as well especially since I've always lived with people who celebrate it. It was more them wanting me to celebrate than me though. Also, the color of your hijab compliments your completion so well and reminded me of the first hijab I ever bought/wore after reverting to Islam. May Allah swt bless you sister. Often those born into Islam take it for granted and are lax about what we’re supposed to follow and those who revert see Islam for what it is and are more knowledgeable than some born in Muslim families. In our culture (Malaysia), we celebrate Eid with decoration lights around the house, we put up decorations that shows we are celebrating Eid and we had big lunch with the whole big family.
Your mom's idea about changing the day is valid.
Make the Eid big as what you did to Christmas.
But for Christmas, it is still ok to have big lunch with your family. Just regard is a a gathering like a normal gatherings like we have once in a while.
Not for the Christmas, but for taking care of the relationship with your families.
Listening to you and your knowledge about Islam just makes me so happy.
