Originally released in late 1968, La Conferencia Secreta del Toto’s Bar was Los Shaker’s psychedelic masterpiece.
Inspired by Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - a milestone that would change the face of pop music forever back in 1967 - Los Shakers created a fundamental album in the history of South American rock music, a seminal record for many artists to come, full of pleasant surprises, magic sounds and sense of humour.
It offers a complex fusion of styles, with elements from both rock and jazz, plus the use of exotic instruments like the bandoneon-widely used in tango music but unprecedented until then in pop/rock adventures. It all makes the last album by Los Shakers an essential, innovative record for any collector and aficionado.
Sounding as fresh and original today as it did back in the late sixties, here’s the first ever vinyl reissue.

How is it that people from the United States or England discover them? Is it easy to get Shakers records in those countries?
@@omegajrz1269 It took me many years of digging to find this band. I am in the East Coast U.S.A. where you can sometimes find their US album release of Break It All. All of their albums are so good I wish I could own them. You would likely never find their later work anywhere in the US unfortunately.
@@TheCoreyLight I don't know if you knew, but The Shakers refused to play in America or England because of their poor command of English. Only Osvaldo (the one with the acoustic guitar) knew a little. And that helped him write the lyrics, which were a bit regular grammatically. But aside from that, for me they are the best Uruguayan band of all time. It was in Argentina where they became famous, and one of their songs, Never Never, was number 1 in Brazil. They broke up for reasons that had to do with the little support that the record company gave them, because they wanted to get out of the "copy of the Beatles" label, and they wanted to mix the Mersey sound of Liverpool with regional rhythms such as candombe, tango or bossa nova.
As you said, it is difficult to find the work of Los Shakers in the United States, since only Break It All was released exclusively for the American music market. It had very little publicity. If you want to get the rest of the albums (which are 3), you will have to import them from Uruguay or Argentina. If you're interested, obviously.

Hi! Any info about the source for the Break it all album released along the Los Shakers LP? Because it sounds compressed, most on the fade outs. Some tracks sound like a damaged tape. The rest of the vinyls sound great. I have an EX copy from the first LP and the Guerssen release sounds better.
Can I still get the LP on clear vinyl?

A Los Shakers lo que los cagó fue no cantar en castellano y tener un hit en castellano , ejemplo los Gatos una banda de esa epoca, hubieran llegado mucho mas lejos que cantando en ingles .
