Whenever I'm feeling down, a nice Zamboni rant does the trick. It's almost as good as a Fawlty Towers marathon.
The whole David Ayres video is pure gold. It's still as funny today as the night it released, but the absolute cherry on top that I don't think most people have seen is the caption note if you have closed caption turned on.

Steve's rant after losing to the COVID Canucks is one that I got some good laughs out of, as a Canucks fan.
As a Habs fan, in my view the Game 6 rant was better than the Game 7 one. Steve interrupting his own darn intro because of how angry he was, just...I don't know if he ever topped that. Him screaming "They're HAUNTED!", in my view, underrated moment.
"Locked Into a Series with the Boston Bruins" rant from the end of the 2023/2024 regular season. That's your supervillain origin story. It was like you unwrapped the bandages from around your head after the Leafs dropped you into the chemical vat, and realizing your reality... snapped.
If not the greatest definitely the funniest. The LFR video of the 92 year old man from Newfoundland who went to his first NHL/Leaf game in Vancouver and the Leafs stunk it up. Steve demanded that MLSE do right for Pops!
LFR16 Game 63. I remember it like it was this year.
Little do we remember that Ayres came it at 3-1, touched the puck to move it away from a Leaf, and the Canes went down and scored on the PP. Ayres game was generational. Canes and Leafs fans won't forget where they were on that night.

Looking back on that habs v leafs series, as a habs fan... i loved every moment of steves reaction to games 1,4,5, and 6
Game 7 vs Montreal (Words) is Steve's best rant. Everyone will bring up the Zamboni Driver game or 9-2, but those rants were delivered in pure anger. Pure anger is good to laugh at, but I, as a non-Leaf viewer, don't have emotional attachments to them. Words, on the other hand, feels rooted in equal parts anger and heartbreak. I can easily take what Steve says in that video and apply it to my Bengals and Reds and all of the heartbreaking playoff performances they've given me over the years, specifically the Bengals's 2015 Wild Card game about 25 years into their playoff win drought. In that rant, Steve perfectly encapsulates the same feelings of desolation I felt after that game: "That was their moment. If it didn't happen then, it's never going to happen." Thankfully, both teams have since broken their droughts, but I still revisit Words every so often.
The David Ayers game without a doubt, like when ever you are having a bad day put that on & without a doubt you feel better as you'll in fits of laughter
It's hard to believe that Nashville was 10 years ago. I have been following steve dangle for 10 years. wow.

Losing to the Canucks twice after them not playing for a month

Not sure about best rant, "the real NHL" one is an off the cuff hot take that I think changed a lot of minds.
But my favorite *thing* is that of the top ten Steve Dangle channel videos there are six are about crushing playoff losses, the 10th place video is about the only series win in the last 20 years, and the other three are so iconic they have one word references like Kessel / Zamboni / Ayres / 9-2 in SDP / Dangle lore
9-2 is a favourite that I remember like it was yesterday. I was sick as hell and turned the game off LONG before it was over. I took some flu meds and fell asleep. I thought I dreamed checking the score later. Then I woke up to the rant.
Game 6 against the habs is what remember more. When we lost that game we all knew it was over and Steve’s rant that game felt more powerful

After that Carolina Hurricanes game I went home, after work, and bought a David Ayres t-shirt from the NHL Hurricanes web store. Number 90. They didn’t waste any time getting those up for sale. I live in Toronto. It was absolutely hilarious. 😂
Shoutout to the one after the 3rd Bruins loss (18-19) titled this team is ruining my life.

The one that i really remember was the one in 23-24 after the leafs lost 6-4 to my canucks, steve shouting "BRAAAADD" killed me
I think the Ayres one is Iconic for both Steve's anger AND the EBUG part. Montreal is one where his actual disdain for the entire Maple Leafs Org is probably greater.
So it's 6 of one half a dozen of the other for me, but those two are definitely the ones I instantly thought of.
For me, my favourite is when he just went in a side tangent about how the Minnesota wild caused the last lockout and it made me so happy.
I loved the oilers vs Calgary with the goalie fight rant. And lucic
As a panthers fan I’ll always appreciate the “they locked themselves into a series with the Boston bruins “ because we were partially responsible for it but the David ayres rant is easily the best
One of my personal favourites was the random story about Tyler Toffolis dad after he potted the empty netter for the jabs in game 7
The Carey Price rant is the one that got me watching Dangle.
It has to be the Zamboni Driver Game. Don't leave out between periods he cleaned the ice, right?
The Hurricanes are everything the Leafs wish they were. Cursed with 3rd rnd exits, always leaving the 1st round. Ridiculous wins out of nowhere, pulling wins out of the jaws of defeat instead of defeat out of the jaws of victory.
An abundance of depth at reasonable cap hits. Making stars out of players the rest of the league overlook

I too sometimes go to the Zamboni video to cheer me up. Partially cos it’s entertaining watch a guy lose his shot, partially cos it seems so incredulous that it happened but deep down I just love how passionate Steve is about this team. I was in Toronto for Xmas in 2-15 for the McDavid world juniors having never seen a game before and fell in love with the game. Sadly it meant I became a leafs fan but I justify this as having supported a standout championship team in my lifetime in footy (hawthorn) for my lifetime so this is some kind of penance for my joyfully supporting the hawks. Perversely it’s actually waaaaay more interesting following a non-winning team. For me at least…

Your mind exploded when, at the end of G6, you realized that Matthews couldn't beat Price. A well coordinated, dumpster fire of a rant. Until the Leafs turn those tables on the Habs i.e. until they win a PO series 4-3 against Mtl after being down 3-1, which may never happen, Habs fans will always have the best joker card in their hand. Beats anything & everything you can throw at them, it's a truckload of shame you guys are carrying.
