You have to have a complete team to go the distance and the Leafs have not had that. That is on Shannahan not the team or the top five guys. I'm a Canuck fan in BC and we see this. Covid and the frozen cap really hurt the Leafs when it comes to building that complete team. But the cap is moving up now and these core guys still have lots of good hockey left in them. I grew up a Leaf fan back in the 70's with Daryl Sittler being my hockey hero. The Leaf run is not over. If they don't get to the mountain top this year they will have more cap room next year with or without John T. but I hope with.
I too am a Canucks fan and agree. The shame is the team has the means to build a cup winner, they just need to reallocate cap and roster spot from a Core Four player to address the lineup. Canucks moving on from Horvat is a good example. Great player and captain no less but we weren’t going to sign him for what he was asking, we got a solid return which freed up cap to acquire Hronek. The culture of the group changes and Hughes becomes captain, and we significantly improve performance the next season. The right move is often a difficult one to make.

Mitch Marner is NOT the problem with this team. He is one of the best players, and highest performing guys every single year; regular season, and playoffs. I’m so sick of hearing so much about this one player. Yes, his play takes a slight dip in the post season, but the WHOLE TEAM takes a bigger dip than he does. Rogers is buying up MAJOR Toronto assets... wow.
😊
Sorry O but you sound like you are attacking them now
As odog explained it more, the more he lost me. He would’ve been pissed about literally anything Mitch said today. As noodles said, he was answering a question.
When odog becomes odonkey he goes off the rails.
He looked pissed all day from the first minute of the show.
Kayli Trail
The season hasn’t even started and you guys are depressing already.
Poke a hole now. Take out one of the top 4 and bring someone else in for a spark. Like Yesterday. This team will never win a cup.
He still doesn't get it.
Blablabla. Same shit every September
Toronto is not a hockey market. It is a Leafs' market.
Shanahan is out . Cry baby Mitch is gone. it's just timing. Two home playoff dates in April and work on your golf game.
Chill out O
Marner to Edmonton next?? Thoughts?
Same old same old from Shanny

I love Odog, the only one keeping it real, allot of morons thinking Mitch has turned a new leaf. Mitch needs to go, not just for the Leafs sake but for his, he will never not be talked about, He needs to take a serious haircut for some to relax on him and we all know its just about the money. Is that fair? Problaly not , but its also not fair that us the fans are perputal losers believe in in this garbage team
O-dog, for some reason has a hate on for Marner while the other two get a free ride. Thanks Noodles for defending him.
@09:40. Listen CAREFULLY! That's hate???
Yeah nice try again heres your 11 million. How much more you going to want next year?
Look up O`neils stats , not much of a player even worse analyst !
Crazy that ODog knows more about hockey than much more accomplished hockey players than he ever was. So impressive!
If something isn't working, you have to make changes, real changes. It's common sense. You don't need to be an "expert" to understand that.
Odog is a windbag and a legend in his own mind. Keep drinking the koolaid laffs fans.
depends how you define accomplished. O went to a cup final.
@@JDI85 o-dog would never call a guy who had his same career “accomplished” lol
Play hockey, tune out the noise. Remember where you came from, train hard, O-Dog you are out of line!
"surviving the summer" meant, didn't get railroaded out of town...despite everyone trying to make it happen. Figure it out, guy. You never won a Cup, O-Dog...Did everyone try to railroad you out of town? Figure it out, guy.
Mitch is soft and sensitive. Nothing wrong with that unless you're trying to win the cup.
@@JDI85 O-Dog is soft and sensitive. Mewling like a kitten sucking on a hind teat about Cups…with no Cups himself.
Truth hurts marner, avoid social media and pretend to be that GOD in Toronto 😅
Auston Matthews should have been the captain since day 1.
Leaf media sucks. They just recycle the same question or just reword the questions they asked. We are tried of them asking the same question. if i have to hear about mitch and contract oh boy. Like its not hard to just be like ight imma come up with new questions
Marner is a fraud?
Marner and Hayes
O’Dog is dead on…zero accountability…have no belief in this team or organization..poorly run and the Core guys not enough reflection and acknowledgement of their repeated failure
How many Cups have you won O-Dog? One, two? None?
How many NHL games have you played Gord? Take a lap pal.
@@JDI85 I’m not mewling like a kitten sucking on a hind teat about winning Cups. Big difference…Pal.
At least he's been in the stanley cup finals. And lead his team in goals that season.
Dumb take.
@@Leroy-df3ee O Dog mewling about winning when he has zero Cups is a joke. He’s acting like he has 5
Hayes is brutal, he should be replaced
If Marner spent a summer putting on 10-10-15lbs of muscle, ala Knies, I’d take him more seriously.
O-dog, you piss me off! Why centre out Marner? He has more playoff points that Pappi and Willy. They are all to blame for the losing. But it seems you, and the rest of Toronto media have to focus on Mitch. It's unfair.
Oh come on.
Matthews and Nylander show up in deciding games.
Marner gets all his points in the first games of the series, look at his stats games 5-7 in the playoffs.
The others show up, Marner disappears when the games get hard.
oh my god-O-dog is just old and tired
Hayes gives 10 cringe moments a show
Nice bowtie
Mitch Marner is NOT the problem with this team. He is one of the best players, and highest performing guys every single year; regular season, and playoffs. I’m so sick of hearing so much about this one player. Yes, his play takes a slight dip in the post season, but the WHOLE TEAM takes a bigger dip than he does. He is one of the guys trying to keep the rest above water. When most of your team is skating the wrong direction, your numbers are also going to suffer… and STILL he’s near a point per game.
Is there an issue with this team? Yes. It’s not Marner.
Fucking “O Dog” (grow up) is so narcissistic he can’t fathom that maybe he is irrelevant to this conversation. “I just describe what I see!” Ok. Great. What does that have to do with anything?
I'm a leaf's fan for over 50 years and yes, there was a lot of disappointment and again Marner's a great regular season player.
And not just him, but D under 3, they have to grow some balls. Play physical doesn't mean they have to fight, but play physical and take it On to chin, once in a while to win more than one round, so core 4 grow some balls. Let's get it done
