My family had a lock up on the old market selling paint. People came from as far as Dagenham to uy it. There was a bomb site out back. I used to go to Lister Technical and walked through no my too and from there to catch a 58 or some times get on a train from Upton Park to East Ham. Don't forget Chamber toy shop and Porkies Cafe opposite.
Looks very quiet. My dad had a fresh fish shop here in the late 1970s. Very different then as the roof wasn't on the market. I hope that it continues - don't like to see empty shop units though, never a good sign.
