  • Working with my Fux Gartensense scythe blade and adjustable wooden snath. Available at scythe-revolution.com/product...
This area was planted in squash last year. Once the squash plants spread out, I can't mow the aisles anymore until after the harvest, so a lot of grass and weeds come up, in and along the windrows. It takes two cuttings the next year, to get it back in shape. My plan is to plant potatoes here this year. For more info on my scythe windrow gardening method see onescytherevolution.com/windr...

I hear those red winged blackbirds ❤ I don’t have a large enough garden space to do this, but I just finished scything the front yard. I’ll put the cuttings on my garden shortly.

I've always wanted to use a scythe like this, but they're not common in Brazil, and they're very expensive.

I have an American snath and blades probably close to a century that I'm trying to rehabilitate. It cuts brush like a champ but grass it tends to just push over. I've seen that a hollow grind is absolutely crucial to pull and cut the grass, but also technique?
