I started some years ago doing calisthenics and eventually I turned to CF. HSPU was a big thing for me to develop properly and thanks to your video it went smoothly! Thanks a lot!
Man you're the guy! I was looking for tips to do this difficult exercise and thanks God, you gave me the right tips. Good job! Keep it up!!
How far have you gotten??
@@anonymous-on2xm not only once! Hahaha, very difficult!!

The HSPU are my Achilles heel on my WOD's. I've watched quite a few videos on how to do them and their progression. As of this moment I'm doing holds and maybe 1 HSPU. But I will tell you this... this video by far has shown me better ideas on how to progress into HSPU than any other video out there. The siting dumbbell 3 second hold... BRILLIANT! It makes so much sense that I do not know how this was missed all over the web. :-) Thanks.
This is the best tutorial I've seen, new to CF and have a WOD today involving HSPU, you've put me at ease on how to progress...thank you. Joseph in Vancouver
Thanks so much Joeseph!! Glad it helped!
From an anatomy professor and chiropractor --- Great job here - also important to let folks know that if one supports their weight on their head while kipping it is the same as performing a push-press with their body weight starting with the bar resting across the top of the head. The focus needs to be upon only lightly touching the head and kipping
when the upwards movement has started and the shoulders and arms are bearing the load.
Nice to see a slow progression into developing the muscles
Thanks. I’ve tried for the first time last week thinking it will be easy, and i was surprised how hard it is (I was not able to do 1 negative).
I’ll work on these drills ;)
I'm brand new to Crossfit. I used your tips for 17.1 for my redo score went from 181 to 212. Watching your tip video's shows me how it WILL BE possible to do MANY of the movements. Thanks for your tips
Seated DB presses! Putting that one in my toolbox!
Thanks for sharing! Starting my progression today, day after thanksgiving-2020
Great details and proper trainer/ coach talent 🎉
Good advice I'm working on mine this helps!
Thanks for this video. My 10 year old daughter is using these tips and it's helping her.
I really like the seated press options. I am not even close to an HSPU, so this is a great place to start.
give it a try!
Nice. Definitely gonna try the seated DB press. Thanks!
Great tips bro! Alot of people say that you're lifting %100 of your bodyweight when doing pull-ups or handstand pushups........but its not true if you stop to think about it. On the PullUp bar, your fingers and part of palms are RESTING on the bar, therefore that weight is NOT being lifted by you. I know its not a lot, its probably less than %1 bodyweight, but still counts. Same goes for Handstand pushup.......your hands are fully rested on the floor, thats weight you're not taking or moving, so i'd say PULLUPs, its 99%,bodyweight and HandStand, about 97% bodyweight! But im no scientist :)
Thanks for the infoo!! I am gonna take it into count when beggining to try this one! =)
Looks very helpful just starting my CrossFit journey and wanted to develop my HSpu and this looks great. Definitely doing these skills
for me one of the top How to crossfit channels, always very good tips.
Great way to learn how to do the stand pushups

Very well step by step elaborated. The hob is tough but you make it very easier. Thanks
Excellent - thank you - esp the sitting DB press. Thxs
I like the transition to the seated on floor With weights going down slowly for more strength building. Good tutorial
thank you!

Seated DB presses are the one ! Thanks for that
Awesome! Great explanations and agree with starting strict first. Less injuries later on!
Been struggling with HSPU. Thanks for the tips- going to add the seated DB negatives !!
That was super helpful! Great tip to start with the box before trying against the wall. Thx

awesome video, thank you for posting
You've been a big help, just watched this video and I automatically subscribed, thanks for posting!
Great tips! Thank you!
Loved this video! Thank you !
Second drill might be very helpful - did that only in standing version.
It works better seated because when you do it that way you may tend to come forward or lean back because of the weight, but when you're standing you have more support from your legs. So you have to keep a tight core to make sure you stay upright.
Thanks for the tutorial. need this to developed my HSPU.
+syauqi0602 Thank you! Let me know how it goes for you.

Awesome tips, very well explained. I can’t wait to improve my HSPU ☺️
Hi Ben, just wanna know how far is the distance between our hands to the wall? Thanks before Ben, ur videos always good to watch.
Thank you for the vid!
Great videos, lots of help!!
Keep them coming!
that makes so much sense to hear about negatives..thats how i feel all day at work without even lifting anything...awesome thank you
I think you should do wall hand stand push ups by facing your stomach to the wall not back..it can cause unnecessary stress on your lower back and make your push alot easier..if you do with your stomach faced to the wall it may be a bit harder but reduces the unnecessary stress..
:40 You were right Ben!!
