But, when Eda tried to play her lute, and it appeared as though her magic had returned, it then showed that the aura that the music created, when combined with her Curse, had the nasty side-effect of causing everything and everyone within range of the music to wither and decay, almost killed Eda herself 😰😱. The nature, and nasty side-effects of this curse, just keep getting scarier and more heartbreaking 😰😓🥺😣😔.
I think they're coming back before the season ends, there were some promo videos that weren't in this episode that had them doing some stuff with the other leaders.
He's head of the Abominaton Coven, yet he's a neat freak and an egoist. Imagine how Abomination Coven Head Darius would be if he had to be involved with something that involved even _more_ than just mud 😆🤣.
I'm more interested in his apparent rivalry with Alador. I'm just imagining him making a long dramatic speech about how much more successful and powerful he is only to turn around and notice Alador following a butterfly into the distance.
I don't think there's an Owl House fan who can watch an episode without aaawwwing, ooooing, crying or ggrrrring! This show is a feeling cluster and I love it! 😊❤️🦉🏠
I'm crying knowing that Eda was ready to risk it all and leave Luz and King to their devices. In her mind (I'm taking a guess here), she believed that since they are doing fine on their own, then they don't need her anymore. And since she isn't needed anymore she has no need for herself. It broke me not only because I've felt this way with people I care about, but also how dead set she was on leaving them. (I hope that makes sense)
9:07 - A wild Pokémon appears 9:57 - Your Pokémon has evolved Also, real talk, the fact that entrapment in Rain's arm isn't even just a coven leaders thing, but a part of the magic seal everyone gets when they choose a coven, is terrifying. Belos and Kikimora can seriously just snap their fingers and entrap anyone they want in a cocoon. They put a failsafe into every person's arm ever since they started their whole crusade against "wild magic" so they could potentially get rid of a whole mass of people with a single Thanos snap.
I'm honestly scared for Eda right now. The look she had on her face right before she joined in with Rayne was haunting. She looked so tired; like he was just ready to give up on everything, and had nothing to live for without Luz and King. It's starting to feel like Steven Universe Future all over again

You know your writing is good when you bring in a character for one episode and everyone is instantly terrified for their well being/sad about a sinking ship.
Honestly, I may be in the minority on this but this episode wasn't one of my favorites. But not because I thought it was bad, far from it. As always, the animation was fantastic and the music... good lord, the scenes with Eda and Raine were gorgeous... and Raine! I absolutely loved them and the team (great seeing fanfic witch again). And of course the coven heads. Fun and deadly with sneak peak of what the Bad Girl Coven will be up against down the road. I loved all of this... but it felt so rushed. Like this was supposed to be two episodes originally. I wish we got to see more of the teams influence on Boiling isles, but that story was cut short for King and Luz training for the race... which, as much fun as those two were, it really had little to do with the story outside of King trying to contact his dad. I mean, imagine if the race and the battle with the cover leaders crossed paths at some point. Like, King and Luz see Eda in trouble, ditch the race and save her. They see that they lost, but King shrugs it off and says it was the right choice. Then Eda pulls out her phone saying they're getting this message out one way or another. Luz and King have a second of reflection realizing why they wasted all that time training when they could of just done that and go on from there. The storyline is another winner, I just think it would have benefited from another episode. ... which sadly was probably out of the crews hands due to the limited amount of episodes they were allowed. Makes me wish for a comic adaption all the more.
Did anyone else get tangled vibes? Did it remind anyone of the hurt incantation? I mean magical music being used to create a dark force that kills it surroundings 🤔 I was really fixated with the Eda and Raine scene and was wondering why it seemed so familiar
Odd that King has to “legally” change his name. That implies that his identity was registered into Boiling Isles official records when he was young. This is strange because one: King was hatched from an egg in the wilderness/ruins, and two: Eda has never given a damn about going through “proper procedures” before. I figured King could just say he’s a Clawthorne now and people would just have to be like “alrighty then”. On top of all that, assuming Eda DID register King with Boiling Isle society, how funny would it be seeing this haggard outlaw walk into a government office, drop a fuzzy little tyrant on the desk and say “this is my kinda-sorta-kid/relative”. (I understand that the act is designed to invoke max feels, just thought I’d point out a funny little inconsistency)
Fun fact, it was confirmed that homophobia doesn’t exist in the Boiling Isles, so they probably won’t make a big deal out of anything LGBTQ+ related since it’s normalized there :)
Despite how much Raine Whispers was willing to sacrifice for the people of the Boiling Isles, once they learned of King and Luz, they put a stop to everything and remind Eda of what she told them, to not run away from fear, that family is more than just blood 🥺🤗.
Eda was so overcome with joy, that she was moved to tears that King wanted to be officially listed as her adoptive son 🥺🥰🥳🤗😁😌. I was moved to tears myself at the revelation 🥲🤗.
I know this episode shows a new character but I still can't get over kikimora like oml her development and design for her magic this season has been so good
I question how other witches like Darius and Eberwolf would willingly support Belos' plans. Don't they understand that the so-called "unity" between worlds could bring disastrous consequences
I suppose it depends on how Belos exposed his plan and/or if he promised some level of protection from the consequences of the unity. There's also the posibility of at least a couple of coven leaders buying into his messiah act and just blindly follow him
@@sadlobster1 I admit Darius is hard to tell as he does not seem like either zealot, greedy or afraid but he does not seem to like the outdoors (although maybe it was just dirt in general) or maybe just the promise of power and/or control? Eberwolf is slighltly easier as the human world provides an entire new form of ecosystems full of completly different creatures... and giraffes.
As an adoptee it makes me so happy to see King yearn to meet his dad while also acknowledging and loving his adoptive family so much. It's very rare that I see stories like this show nuance in the sense that you can love and want to stay with your family while also wishing to understand more about your biological parents as well. Something a lot of adoptive parents just like Eda struggle with, it's why so many people don't even tell their kids they're adopted. I love this little fam so much and Luz better bring Camila to live in bonesborough or do some alternating between realms by the end of this bc I don't care, Eda's her mom too now.
I was never sure which coven id gel with (well, assuming theyd still exist as just heads of specific study after all this, rather than Belos,'s bullshit fascism), and was stuck between Bard and Beastmaster. But like... now weve met the heads of both, and IM STILL CONFLICTED I LOVE THEM BOTB
I love this episode because it made me feel seen. I am a bisexual with a nonbinary partner. It’s amazing representation and I’m glad I can see the both of us in some chaotic good witches. It makes me feel loved.
I can hear the Hordak voice coming through at his "NO MORE PLAYING AROUND!" line at 9:46, it certainly carries all the frustration of having to deal with Shadow Weaver and Catra's shenanigans on a daily basis.
First of all Raine just *knowing* Luz and King needed Eda more than she thought hit me like a ton of bricks. They KNOW that Eda underestimates herself and that, even without context, these kids are lucky to have her and shouldn't lose her. Eda has been so alone before King and now Luz, she definitely doesn't understand her own value when it comes to other people and Raine knew that without ever even knowing her kids (bc they're definitely her kids at this point), or actually seeing how amazing and loving she is to them 😭🥺
13:22 to 13:41 Me to amber noticing her silence: amber??? sweetie u ok?? Amber:……. *Me understanding and patting her back* : there there it will be ok. we can cry/rage about it together
At least with this episode we can see how far a wizard/witch can go in their chosen coven from a newbie to the head leader and how expansive their respective magic are
I know that the creators said they didn't plan on any singing or special songs in this show; but like the bard coven music is the perfect thing for music and songs to be a part of.

The nature, and nasty side-effects of this curse, just keep getting scarier and more heartbreaking 😰😓🥺😣😔.
As an enby, yessssss
Raine is so freaking adorable
Right there with u sib
As an Enby i agree
I think they're coming back before the season ends, there were some promo videos that weren't in this episode that had them doing some stuff with the other leaders.
He's head of the Abominaton Coven, yet he's a neat freak and an egoist. Imagine how Abomination Coven Head Darius would be if he had to be involved with something that involved even _more_ than just mud 😆🤣.
I'm more interested in his apparent rivalry with Alador. I'm just imagining him making a long dramatic speech about how much more successful and powerful he is only to turn around and notice Alador following a butterfly into the distance.
@@ap7635 yeah, he called the Abomiton "ugly", and told Kikimora to tell Alador he's "a hack" 🤔, curious 🤔.
I don't think there's an Owl House fan who can watch an episode without aaawwwing, ooooing, crying or ggrrrring! This show is a feeling cluster and I love it!
😊❤️🦉🏠
@jf k oh, it is!
The animation in this show blows me away every week. So smooth and clean. This might be my favorite episode now.
Eda’s curse remembered me of Rapunzel decaying spell
Yooooooo, that’s actually an INSANE comparison and I’m here for it 😂
YES
Eda doesn't want to lose her family
I love Eda, but blushing Eda…GOD, IT’S A NEW LEVEL
Took me until the end of the episode to realize that that girl of the BATs was that one background character from ep. 1
9:07 - A wild Pokémon appears
9:57 - Your Pokémon has evolved
Also, real talk, the fact that entrapment in Rain's arm isn't even just a coven leaders thing, but a part of the magic seal everyone gets when they choose a coven, is terrifying. Belos and Kikimora can seriously just snap their fingers and entrap anyone they want in a cocoon. They put a failsafe into every person's arm ever since they started their whole crusade against "wild magic" so they could potentially get rid of a whole mass of people with a single Thanos snap.
Darius most likely _is_ Gavin's father, because of how they have the same skin tone, similar eye color, and use the same type of magic 🤔.
I'm honestly scared for Eda right now. The look she had on her face right before she joined in with Rayne was haunting. She looked so tired; like he was just ready to give up on everything, and had nothing to live for without Luz and King. It's starting to feel like Steven Universe Future all over again
So considerate for the TOH crew to make a character after you pfft, enjoyed the video!
No one else needs to make mama Eda sad like that again. Otherwise great episode and opens more questions about the marks for the coven members
Raine is so precious, I love them so very much.
Ok, when rain said
EDA DO YOU HAVE KIDS
I'm like, yea she cheating on you boi
I love that they brought back the witch from the first episode to be a part of Raine’s bard team!!
6:37 Zamber you jinxed it.
I just realized if Belos needs the coven leaders for the day of unity that’s most likely the reason he needs Hunter
We still dont know what for though. I would supposed it has to do with him being magic-less. Hype tho
@@PrinceDexterEND0 I was saying this because Hunter is also a coven leader
@@moon7shinev150 I mean not really. He's not on a banner. And the leader of the Emperors coven is Belos
@@PrinceDexterEND0 wasn't Lilith the head of the emperor's coven until she was ousted and replaced with hunter
@@Dakarai_Knight yes but not a coven leader. Head of coven is different than coven leader. // which can be shown through the banners. Especially since the emperors coven is very different than other covens
You know your writing is good when you bring in a character for one episode and everyone is instantly terrified for their well being/sad about a sinking ship.
I WAS SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF MY LITTLE LUNGS WHEN I SAW KING’S DAD!!!
If you guys missed it the fanfic girl's name is Katja
God I wish our society could be like the Boiling Isles
@@The_weird_world97 same.
I... I honestly can't decide if Grom or Eda's Requiem has a better, more touching scene. I hope for Raine to return soon!
Cried twice in this ep, once when Eda almost died, once when Eda cried at the end
And one where rain almost dien
Fun fact: This is the only episode I've watched completely so far. I loved it.
every episode so far this season has been a 10/10. its actually scary how on a roll they've been
5:25 -> Eda: "I am an agent of chaos."
That brings Joker vibes to me.
I saw someone mention that Everwolf’s personally is just >:3 and it works so well. I love Everwolf
Me, talking about Darius: He turned himself into and abomination, man. Funniest s*** I've ever seen!
I could tell from the thumbnail you were melting from King asking Eda to legally adopt him. ;p
Darius the head of the abomination coven is voiced by Keston John who did Hordak and Hord prime in She-ra
The "You have kids??" moment made me bawl my eyes out.
There's also the posibility of at least a couple of coven leaders buying into his messiah act and just blindly follow him
@@Don_LUSH So, what reason could Darius and Eberwolf have in supporting his ideas
@@Don_LUSH The latter part is true...but I hope Eberwolf realizes how much harm two worlds merging might cause to the creatures
Am I the only one who though Rayne at the beginning would say “Day of Lumity” as a joke as they were messing up?
That would have been hilarious.
did not realize that was a potential lumity joke i could make, Ivanna,You Fool!
As *they* were messing up.
They! As they were messing up! Please use the correct pronouns
Gosh dang it that could have been great
Now we're entering steven universe levels or LGBTQIA+ characters.
you gotta be one hell of a person to make someone like eda blush
p.s. raine's rhapsody/eda's requiem is now my theme song
I love this little fam so much and Luz better bring Camila to live in bonesborough or do some alternating between realms by the end of this bc I don't care, Eda's her mom too now.
i know we all say this every week but THIS IS MY FAV EP SO FAR THIS SEASON !!
I’m positive we’re gonna see Raine again in the future. Hopefully pretty soon…
5:59
Just by that look you can tell that Rain is sweet on our owl Lady.
And Amber is Zamber. Ha! That rimes.
Her reactions are so cute
I CANNOT GET OVER THE GORGEOUS MUSIC AND KING CLAWTHORNE 😭😍
I was very much not expecting to see a sneak peak of King’s dad in this episode so that was a nice surprise
I love this episode because it made me feel seen. I am a bisexual with a nonbinary partner. It’s amazing representation and I’m glad I can see the both of us in some chaotic good witches. It makes me feel loved.
Daily reminder that Alador is, in fact, a hack. I wonder if those two ever had to compete. Feels like it.
Darius is voiced by the same guy who voiced Hordak, Horde Prime and the clones.
I can hear the Hordak voice coming through at his "NO MORE PLAYING AROUND!" line at 9:46, it certainly carries all the frustration of having to deal with Shadow Weaver and Catra's shenanigans on a daily basis.
I guess you could say Eda could've had empty nest syndrome? (da dun tss)
First of all Raine just *knowing* Luz and King needed Eda more than she thought hit me like a ton of bricks. They KNOW that Eda underestimates herself and that, even without context, these kids are lucky to have her and shouldn't lose her. Eda has been so alone before King and now Luz, she definitely doesn't understand her own value when it comes to other people and Raine knew that without ever even knowing her kids (bc they're definitely her kids at this point), or actually seeing how amazing and loving she is to them 😭🥺
13:20 Considering the previous Jon Tron clip I would have added the "What? WTF?!" One too
Fun fact, the leader of the Abomination Coven is voiced by the same guy who voiced Hordak in She-Ra
You can REALLY hear the Hordak in his voice when he shouts "NO MORE PLAYING AROUND"
13:22 to 13:41
Me to amber noticing her silence: amber??? sweetie u ok??
Amber:…….
*Me understanding and patting her back* : there there it will be ok. we can cry/rage about it together
13:21 what is Kikimora's power?, because that just looked like she brought Raine tattoo to life, like literally gave it a physical form, how?
At least with this episode we can see how far a wizard/witch can go in their chosen coven from a newbie to the head leader and how expansive their respective magic are
I know that the creators said they didn't plan on any singing or special songs in this show; but like the bard coven music is the perfect thing for music and songs to be a part of.
