Integrated Bar of the Philippines National President Atty. Burt Estrada explained on #Agenda the disbarment of lawyer Berteni Causing for posting a draft plunder complaint on social media.
Atty. Estrada stated that Causing should wait at least five years before filing a petition to be reinstated as a lawyer.

Five years is a long time! Perhaps, the Supreme Court justices may find it in their hearts to lessen the number of years ...? Engr Toto Causing has sincerely shown remorse. In this country where the future seems to be bleak, we need a fighter in the person of disbarred Atty Causing.
There are so many worst erring and vocal lawyers than causing with political agenda damaging this nation and yet we find someone who braved to fight corruption punished severely. What balance of justice do we have? Kulang na nga ng mabubuting tao nadali pa? Paano kung ang plunder case ay totoo, dapat natignan muna yon kung May merits!

It's sad a good lawyer was disbarred by protecting people on over priced items. Sino pa gagawa para sa tao ?
Causing should have just then lawyered up and executed a proper filing of his case in the court, not posting his draft in the social media for public trial.
The punishment does not comensurate to the offense committed, a plunder case filed agst the theirves and yet atty causing received a reverse penalty instead of the rezpondents.
Can we trust kind of judicial system?
Ano pa nga ba ang aasahan natin sa Supreme Court of Duterte.
Was the lawyer fabricating or lying, making up a story? Disbarred for ethical violation? This penalty is life-changing, like capital offense. The case started some years back, so why now? Because the disbarred lawyer has found himself in confrontation with powerful personalities? This all smells like squeezing hands behind the blindfold of justice.
There is a reason why facts are being tackled, deliberated and judged accordingly in the courts. Causing should have just made a proper filing of his case rather than post his draft in the social media for public trial. As disbarment is an administrative case, substantial evidence is only required. Causing having a prior, likewise did not help him on the matter.

@@rosaborata4931 Bilang abugado, alam ni Causing na mayroon tayong tamang proseso sa pagsampa ng kaso at yun po ay sa korte at hindi sa social media. May nilabag po siyang ethical standards ng IBP kaya siya ay tinanggalan ng lisensya.

Mapagkakatiwalaan pa ba ang Surpreme Court? There is no previous violation before this case. The previous sanctioned happened in 2021. The case where he was disbarred, happened in 2019. How can you say that there was repeated sanction. Atty. Causing was after corruption, but those people he brought to court since 2019, never been acted upon. Nauna pang naparusahan iyong lumalaban sa katiwalian. Halatang halata na politika at pera ang gumalaw tulad nang mga kurakot na pinalaya na lahat. Kawawang Pilipino..

Una, iba po ang case ni Gadon kay Causing. Pangalawa, repeat offender na po si Causing kaya nabigyan siya ng kinauukulang kaparusahan. Pangatlo, nakapreventive suspension pa po si Gadon Jan pa last year.

I have a message to you Supreme Court Justices. In my opinion, you have wrongly judged a very good man who was fighting the grafters and plunderers in our country. He was doing his job of helping victims of injustice but now, he became a victim himself. SC justices, you should be more humane and not to be very legalistic. There is a correct venue in telling the truth when it comes to dealing with accusations and it is in the proper courts. We don't ferret out the truth with regards to criminal cases in social media for public trial.

Also, being an editor of a reputable media outfit does not automatically mean you can't afford to lie or defame. There are numerous editors and media personalities that have taken advatage of their power as journalist to destroy other people's dignity and reputation.
Freedom of the press does not grant you the freedom to write whatever you like to destroy other people. That's why there are ethics, laws and procedures to abide by so that order is observed. If only Causing's draft was properly filed, he would not be in this predicament in the first place. Having a prior violation did not help him too.

Disbarment is not appropriate and somewhat political, so many lawyers were more abusive. Bertini Causing only did the right way in exposing the graft and corruption done but why? He might be reconsidered. Thanks to the Supreme Court’s giving chance to a learned lawyer.

Nagkaroon na din kasi ng kaso si Causing dati at nabigyan ng kaukulang kaparusahan. Ngunit siya ay umulit at nagdulot ito ng pagkaalis ng kaniyang lisensya bilang abogado. Ibig sabihin, nabigyan na siya ng pagkakataon na huwag nang umulit. Ngunit ginawa pa din niya.
