Dude the concept of enslaving yourself to earn a paycheck while never having to feel what it's like to work but at the same time knowing there's a version of yourself who ONLY ever works but not caring because you're psychologically seperate/different from them but at the same time still technically you is fucking wild. This show knocked it out the park
Mark is kind of the reverse, he severed himself hoping there will be a half of him who wouldn't suffer the pain he's going through.
@@None38389Mark is a char that would benefit from being at work…any work. Him siloing himself off from work is damaging to his outside life in so many ways.

For me 3:08 is the best monologue of the 2020's. Everything that she said insincerely until they broke her down became a totality of herself when she realized how evil her outie was, it became utterly the most truthful feeling she's ever felt.
Helly’s actress’s performance in this episode was so good. The way she’s barely managing to hold on to a poker face but shows her fear with those glassy eyes.
Britt Lauer. Yes, she is fantastic in these scenes.

damn thats the scene where i totally fell for her, she is outstanding actress and i love her 4 supressed blinks she does with her eyes when her dad tells her that line...just outstanding.
2:41 Just noticed this particular moment, the look on her father's face - It almost looks like he's un-severing and giving control of his body back to (I'm guessing) Kier Eagan's transplanted consciousness. Maybe Kier is inhabiting her father's body most of the time and running the company, and the one talking to her during this scene is her actual father (a willing "innie"?), then giving control back to Kier. Very "Being John Malkovich"-esque?

Doubtful. The whole conceit of these scenes is that Lumon doesn't know that Dylan is waking them. Everybody here assumes that Helly is her outtie.
This is an amazing point. We don’t know how far this goes. Even the Egan’s might be controlled

The fact that mark made a tree out of clay to his wife's innie (whose outtie is presumably in a coma or on life support).

She’s such a great actress
The actor who plays Jame Eagan, Michael Siberry, is a great choice. He’s an Australian actor who has done a ton of Broadway. In this role he portrays a creepy other-worldliness. Jame is plastic, almost robotic.

Something that bothered me about this scene is how her dad chooses to have this chat in the fucking bathroom. Couldn't he just wait outside for two minutes?
Too many people around, no privacy, it might not be something he wanted strangers overhearing.
