Hey! Detroit area photog here- I’m in my second senior season and I raised my prices from $250 last year to $400 this year. As a high school coach and social savvy person I was able to grow my bookings a ton this year and I am booked up completely for a month straight. I just raised prices 50-75$ for the fall- should I be nervous about a mid-season price increase? Fall colors around me are in such high demand that I don’t want to shoot a bunch of hour long (my mini) sessions for boys at a super reduced rate compared to my full two hour session that I generally do with girls in the summer.
That is AMAZING, Rebekah! Congrats to you! I would not be worried about a price increase affecting bookings - if you have that much demand, an increase is definitely what needed to happen! Instead, I would personally remove the mini session option from your website. I only offer mini sessions for the guys, but I only tell them that package is available when they inquire. So, otherwise, people think I only have one starting price. It removes the issue of people only booking/requesting minis if they don't know they exist!

I have a few videos on the channel about what we include - but it is actually SO huge (65+ pages) that it would be a VERY long video!
Thanks for this (and the many others!) super informative and helpful videos! A question about the location options that you're adding to your new session guide.... I'm in the midwest where there are locations that look their best only at certain times of year. I have a roadside area that's great for mid-July and late-July wildflowers, and other locations that are good for August wildflowers (after the July ones are spent). I'd love to give my clients some location options so they can get a feel for their aesthetic, but with all these changing locations, I'm not sure how! Do you have to accommodate locations that change throughout the year? If so, how do you think you'll handle it in the new session guide? Thanks for your guidance!
Absolutely! We have a ton of areas in Charleston that are famous for being in bloom during a specific time of year. I would break down your guide to be month-by-month (or season by season) and outline the location options accordingly!
Great idea to revamp the senior style guide. I just watched an other video of someone who did this with wedding bookings. I am just starting out so. this is great advice. I would be very interested in buying your template if you are selling.

I am now adding a "Favorites" folder to every gallery! I do have a silly question about the call to action button. I am in the process of adding that to my galleries as well but I have no idea what to put in the "button link" section when adding it. Can you help??
