Our church has been so blessed with the opportunity to care for our friends in our local nursing home. Just like Chaplain Bill shared we go to be a blessing but end up being blessed. Thank you for all you do for His kingdom and thank you for coming to our church to teach and train our team.
Thank you so much for remembering these. I live with my 86 years old mother. She is all there but she talks alot. As I have listened to focus on the family my frustration over her has began to leave me. I have been thinking negatively about her talks but I want you to pray for me to give my life to serving her. I have the promise but I wanted a better job to focus on. I am wrong cause I have Gods promsie if I honor her. Thank you
Wow!!! I still usually listen to focus on the family while making dinner. About 30 years!! I told my wonderful hubby of 41 years he must watch this on UA-cam with me! So glad you post your shows on her. Will be getting his book, what a godly man!!

I think that part of the reason churches aren't in this type of ministry, especially inner city/urban churches, is because most church members don't live in the same community as the Church's location. Folks don't mind driving an hour out of their way, one day a week.
How can you place your parents in a nursing home after they loved you, fed you, clothed you and kept you from harm? Shame on the adult kids. Breaks your heart
It is a difficult decision. If families do not get along, or if your loved one is bedridden it is hard to handle them without help. Our grandmother cares for our grandfather who has alzheimers, and it is almost more than she can handle. We do not live near her, and she only in the past year has someone come in 2-3 days a week to help her bathe him.
