  • Welcome back to yet another episode from one of our favorite state parks, Ohiopyle! Join us on this late winter hike as we say goodbye to the Ferncliff Peninsula and hike along the Greater Allegheny Passage onto the Great Gorge Trail. The Great Gorge trail was once used as a mine tram way and now hikers traverse it in search of waterfalls and beautiful hardwood forests. This episode has it all and shows how amazingly diverse this state park is. Now lets get to hiking!

I am a Steelers fan and have been to Pittsburgh three times now. I have Ohiopyle in my Pittsburgh hiking list, and it looked most impressive through your lens! Secondly, thanks for turning me on to Chris's channel. I looked him up and subscribed immediately. Thirdly, thanks for sharing this great content!

Wonderful images of the falls and rapids. Nice gentle trail along the old railway track bed. Love the high bridge. Cucumber falls was pretty exciting especially up close. Nice park to explore.

Such a great area! It would be tough to choose what was more impressive the high bridge or the falls, thanks for stopping by!

I believe the Great Allegheny Passage, or at least this portion of it, follows the Western Maryland Railroad Right of Way. The B&O would be the RR that still goes through Ohio Pyle, now operated by CSX.
Pretty cool to have the waterfall all to yourself, I bet that hardly ever happens there.
    Great video as always!
I’m excited for next weekend. I’ll give you a call early this week.

I know Ricketts Glen is your next state park after just doing Ohiopyle. I am near Pittsburgh on the other end of the state. Is Ricketts Glen worth the travel to see?

I’m from Pittsburgh as well! And yes Ricketts Glen is 100% worth the 4 hour drive, it’s in my top three parks in the state. Do it, you won’t regret it!
