I just got three Bushnell TRS 25 Trophy's with the white logo from Amazon ($52.95 each!) and there is nothing wrong with them at all, no disappearing dot and the adjustment knobs are all stiff with very positive clicks. I am very happy with the quality especially for the price point! Amazon rocks!
I have TRS25 sitting on my Browning SA-.22 lr from last 4 years and frankly I am more then happy with it's performance and zero holding ability. I tried on the dot disappearing act after watching your video, thankfully without success. Guess your friend got a lemon. To top it a friend got Red Dot from Singapore for me and it cost him less then $ 35/= (without the raised base).
** Your friend bought a KNOCKOFF. That is not a "new" TRS-25. There are differences you note and in the body whsle in relation to the front lens. He needs to return it to AMAZON and get his money back ASAP.
I have both the GOLD and the WHITE lettering. GOLD: emitter is at 4-5 o'clock position, NO disappearing red dot, and the dial is more tactile from 0-11. WHITE: emitter is at 6 o'clock position, disappearing red dot towards outer edge by 11-1 o'clock position, and the dial is softer from 0-11. BOTH: Front lens coating are the same. Base on what I can gather and observation, it might be the redesign of the emitter and/or position and the opening by the emitter. My GOLD version emitter opening is wider (or flare out) and the WHITE version emitter opening is straight (no flare).
Great video. Thanks for the information. I just received my white lettered TRS-25 today. My emitter looks more like the yellow letter scope and the dot does not disappear. Thanks again.
Got scared when I started watching this video, as I just got a TRS-25, but after watching I can honestly say I don't have the issues you seem to display here.
Bro, I talk to Bushnell a few days ago. They said that the new policy is that you can send in your TRS-25 for repairs. If they can’t fix, or replace. They give you 50% off on the new 2018 red dots. If they can’t fix my TRS-25 I’m going to ask for a “Incinerator” red dot. The “Incinerator” is a $200.00 optic. So if you buy a $50 trs-25. Then send it in. You can get their newer red dot for $100.00 instead of $200.00.
this vid isn't a thing any more, however, would like to add my 2 cents for those of you that are just here. I had the 2nd version of this on my AR for years... it worked fantastically... no BS. feel free to get it if this is your choice. it is non fail and works great and cheap... 4 years later my family bought me an upgrade for my rifle, so i put this red dot on my 10/22... THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST... i have an old school 10/22, had an old school weaver mount with only 2 pic and ty slots. I mounted this red on the rearmost slot.... nothing but fun and good varmint hunting since...I zeroed it at 50 yards for my 10/22.
I just bought one with the white letters. I have no issues that you are describing. My red dot is bright, it never disappears, and the knob is firm. So either Bushnell fixed these problems or I got lucky.
Not sure what your referring too, I bought the white lettering one zero problems. Crisp bright and the dot does not disappear. Could be you got a defective one.
+EvendimataE that is great to hear, hopefully they have fixed the problem. If you check Amazon's reviews, there is a lot of people complaining about it. Like I said before I might buy another to see if the problem has been fixed.
I know I'm late but I have the one with the white letters and functions perfectly. No disappearing red dot. It's pretty clear and bright as heck. Maybe I got a good one
the problem must have been addressed by bushnell, i ordered mine from amazon and it came in the mail today, the dot does not disappear at any area on the glass.
Checked all 3 of my TRS-25s and they all produce a bright red dot right up to the edge. Of the 3, I own 1 gold-letter version that came as a standard optic attached to my Bushmaster AR15 ORC purchased new back in 2010. Then I bought a white-letter version on sale from Jet in mid-2016. And finally I purchased another white-letter version more recently this past June of 2017 on Amazon, (on sale combined with a Bushnell manufacturer rebate cost only $29.99). Given the wide spread across my purchase dates, I can honestly say Bushnell maintains a consistently high standard of manufacturing. All 3 perform as virtually parallax free red dots with the same strong brightness that holds cleanly right up to the edge, and at all angles. I really think your friend got a one-off defect (or batch) that should have been returned.
I just got mine via Amazon w/white lettering and did not experience any issue with the red dot disappearing from any angle. Amazon has a no hassle, free return policy on defective items so why not try it out.
Have found that there is a white version that is dimmer and the dial is a bit easier to turn. I compared two of these types against my older white ones. The one item that sets them apart is the battery cover. The dimmer one didn't have a spring in the cover pushing the battery down. In its place was a round piece of rubber. The dots without the spring were significantly dimmer. I didn't experience any other problems like the dot disappearing.
Just received a new one from Amazon. White logo...Bushnell trophy/no mount. Has the led at the 4 oclock position not the 6....does not disappear in the top 1/3 , is visible all around. Can't remember if the dot was more clear on my one from 3 years ago or not. It's good though, they kinda fixed the sticky light wheel a bit. REPLY
man you saved me time and money. that's a shame they didnt want to do anything about it or listen to their customer. take your money else where. thanks
I purchased a TRS-25 a couple of years ago. It has the white painted Logo. It has two issues. #1: the detents (clicks) on the windage are nearly non existent, making it difficult to feel the windage adjustment. Moreover, since I cannot sense the windage clicks, when I sighted the red dot in at 100 yards, I experienced drifting of the rounds fired, until the windage settled to the bottom of a detent. Once that occurred, my groups were acceptable, and the round placement has stayed consistent. #2: leaving the battery turned on for more than 15 minutes between rounds, the dot seems to fade as if it were at a lower setting. Since this is my first red dot, I have nothing else to compare it to. That said, the lack of positive detents on the windage adjustment is a concern.
just an FYI I just bought a new version of the trs25 with the white lettering it seems to look the same internally as the yellow lettered version shown in the video and I have np seeing the dot everywhere I believe that the problem has been fixed
Just got mine in 2020 has white lettering and the dot does not disappear at all and is very bright on 11 in sunlight. Nice crisp dot no blur. Maybe you got a knock off or defective one.
mines has the same issue and it is the white lettering. the dot is dim as hell and keeps disappearing when looking at a certain angle. this problem is more profound when i do a double tap with my 7.62x39. i thought this was normal but after this video...no more. thanks for sharing.
I just got one, new version with white logo, and it's 100% fine, the dot do not disappears at all, the dial is pretty stiff and the thing is solid. it must have been a batch that have the problem, I'd let them know...Overall I'm happy with mine on my Tavor X95.
i bought the new trs-25 white lettering. No problem with the red dot disappearing at any setting 1-11. You should send yours back while it's still under warranty.
I have the new style with the white letters and 5 o'clockish emitter. Mine worked very well and held up to short barreled 556 plr16, 16" 7.62x39ar15,and a 30-30 levergun. I left it on for days, ran the battery down and when i put in a new battery i got nothing. After a few days a 2 new batteries i realized that the tensioner tray/battery spring/ whachamacallit had been spread out and didnt allow good contact on the battery. Pushed in the tabs to tighten the tension on the battery and its working great again....my 2 cents
I bought one a couple years ago (gold lettering) works great, has bright dot on highest setting. I purchased one a month ago and noticed right away that the dot was very faint even on highest setting. In bright light you could barely see it on the highest setting but you could make it out. To be fair my eyes are getting old but the original is easy to see even in bright day light. I did not have the problem with the font disappearing however but I am disappointed with the new one and will not be buying another one and I wouldn't recommend the new one either.
I have the new one with none of these problems.....but to relate, I found I had a couple of crappy batteries. I bought fresh ones and installed a new one. The dot was very much brighter than with the "old" batteries. I have about 2000 rds. with it and it seems to be a champ!! :-)
Weird. I got a model with the white letters, but the knob turns stiff like the old one you described and the front lens is red instead of green and the emitter is on the 6 o clock. The brightest setting is really bright even when I aimed it outside in the snow.
Just picked up a new TRS 25, white lettering from my local shop. No issues and the emitter does not appear to match the new one in this video. They must have fixed this problem!
`Just got mine today its the newer style and I checked as soon as I got it dot is visible no matter where it is in the tube. Seems you got a lemon there. I would return it to amazon their real good about returns.
Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like Bushnell changed vendors opting for the cheapest. That is going to bite them in the ass! Thumb up for posting this.

Mine has white letters. The emitter is at 4 o'clock. The red dot doesn't disappear like this. Works great. I have not compared the brightness to one with gold letters though.
I ordered the TRS25 twice from Amazon. Both times I got Chinese clones, NOT real TRS25s. I demanded my money back and got it. Bushnell can help you check that second one.
Ron Warren I havie had two white letter ones the dot does get lost every now and then the other day droped my slide on my CX4 went out messed with it came back on still using the TRS25 could be battery or loose batt cap?
I just bought one with silver letters and mine doesn't have this issue with disappearing dot. Thx for the Video and greetings from Germany PS: There is always a reason to make one new model of the same product, it calls *PROFIT* douchebag Bushnell
I m pretty sure its the new design that has issues, its all over the web. I love my original TRS-25 but I won't be buying another one due to this problem. It was a great little budget Red Dot but now it really went downhill.
I have a white lettered 4 o'clock model that works great. All the new ones will be 6 o'clock emitters that act like the one in the video. I called Bushnell and they basically said tough, live with it. I don't see why they would make that change, it doesn't seem like it would lower any production costs. No more TRS 25's for me.
+Ed Knn I hope they fix the problem, it was a great little red dot. Also I been hearing that some models with the white letters have been working perfect, so I guess it depends from what factory get you get from.
New ones are terrible. I bought two from Amazon Oct 2017, white letters. Not having dot disappear issue, but the dot is extremely dim in sunny conditions. basically, useless. i mean, it's hard to pick the dot up and this is not a problem you want. If i could return, i would. It's a real shame that many manufacturers are doing this bait n switch deal. If i have learned one thing over the last few years, wasting $ on shitty gun optics it is this: you gotta spend a little $. Sucks, cuz i'm a cheap bastard.
I seen this problem a friend I know has the yellow works great. So I got my son the bus hell but his had the white lettering and light disappears when moving your head and the dot will disappear from your sight.
You're right. The white letter ones suck hard. I have an older one with the gold lettering and it's as good as it gets for the money, but I have two buddies that have the newer ones, and they are WAY dimmer than mine, even being new with fresh batteries and mine being several years old, and still on the original battery. It's too bad Bushnell got a deserved good rep for these, then decided to switched to utter shit after people started recommending them. I'll never purchase anything from them again.
Its sad why Bushnell did this, they went from a super great Red Dot to a crappy design. I won't be buying anymore TRS 25s, instead I highly recommend the Primary Arms advanced micro dot. Its sad when companies do this to products.
I got a new one on my 4570 for red deer in nz works fine my one is a 6 o'clock i think yours is just a nockoff that some one has just tryed to copy the older type
Andrew no it is not, that is the beauty of a Red Dot sight. There is very little Parallax no matter where your cheek is located, just watch my video again and see how little the Red Dot moves when I move the camera.
oh wow so its like a holo in that sense? i wonder what factors get you the trs-25 with that issue. I just got one off amazon and it does not have the problem at the top of the fov
I bought one several years ago and I have been very happy with it. I just purchased another one a few days ago and it sucks. The red dot on the new one is weak and hard to see on full power. I won't buy another one and I won't recommend that anyone one should waste their money one as they are now.
I have a white label one and it broke after less than 200 rds from a CZ858. Sending it back to Bushnell I'm not impressed. the dot disappears and flickers like mad.
I had a white letter mounted on an ultimak rail I got it very hot and it still worked flawlessly.I have since replaced it with an aimpoint micro but am going to use bushnell on my other Ak.
What?...You said, "If you don't mind having the red dot disappearing go ahead and buy it???🙄 So what's the purpose of buying a red dot if there's no dot? 😄 5:14
My dot disappears like yours. However I have this as a fuck around red dot and could careless about it. If you are going to buy cheap optics buy a holosun
NOTHiNG wrong with the “ white letter” newer TRS-25; you might have a defective one- the newer model has clearer glass( no tint ); I have both gold and white letter versions- both are still 3 moa- the only difference is the newer has a smaller emitter...
Got a new white letter model on 4/18/19 and it does not have this issue. Saw another video and a quick way to verify it's a TRS 25 and not a counterfeit is to find the serial number on the bottom. There are fakes being sold with a riser by 3rd party sellers so avoid those. Just wanted to update in case anyone else saw this video and was worried about picking one up from Amazon.
I got a white letter TRS25. Shot it on .22 up to 45.70. You don’t want my ass shooting at you out to 200 yards. Where do y’all get these myths? Yea, I know! A moment of fame while watching another you tube expert! Come to my place with your gear. Prove up
I think your buddy has a bad item i have a new one with white lettering and the dot does not do that in fact i own 2 because of the price all good he needs to return his and get a new one just saying

Jester Avrgjoe , which means you paid $150 total
How would you say it compares to the Romeo 5. I ordered a TRS 26 but like that the Romeo 5 is motion activated, so it's ready when I need it.
Called Bushnell last week, Tech said there is NO difference, NO MORE GOLD>

Just got mine in the mail (white lettering) and its bright enough. Have not needed to turn it up any higher than 1 (indoor). Works great!
That is great, hopefully Bushnell by now has fixed the problem. If you search on the issue you will find that allot of people had problems.
Ghos7N54 that is great to hear, maybe they are listening and correcting the issue.

I purchased a TRS-25 a couple of years ago. It has the white painted Logo. I have had mine for about a year just checked it no problem.
just an FYI I just bought a new version of the trs25 with the white lettering it seems to look the same internally as the yellow lettered version shown in the video and I have np seeing the dot everywhere I believe that the problem has been fixed
Just got mine in 2020 has white lettering and the dot does not disappear at all and is very bright on 11 in sunlight. Nice crisp dot no blur. Maybe you got a knock off or defective one.
Huh..... I have the newer white lettering TRS 25. I do not have this problem....... I would send your optic in for warranty service.
Thanks for your insight. Great info. I was very interested in purchasing one of these but may consider another brand now.
mines has the same issue and it is the white lettering. the dot is dim as hell and keeps disappearing when looking at a certain angle. this problem is more profound when i do a double tap with my 7.62x39. i thought this was normal but after this video...no more. thanks for sharing.
It sucks, I love mine with the Gold Letters its awesome. I might order another to see what I get, but I m afraid to get a bad one.
I read this on amazon now it makes more sense thanks!
I have the new style with the white letters and 5 o'clockish emitter. Mine worked very well and held up to short barreled 556 plr16, 16" 7.62x39ar15,and a 30-30 levergun. Just got the newer white one from amazon and can confirm I dont have any of these issues.
Thanks for the heads up. Sounds like Bushnell changed vendors opting for the cheapest.
That is going to bite them in the ass!
Thumb up for posting this.

dude, you just have a defective sight, there is no problem with the new TRS-25 white letter.
Ron Warren I hope thats the case because the TRS 25 is an awesome Red Dot when it works.
Ron Warren
I havie had two white letter ones the dot does get lost every now and then the other day droped my slide on my CX4 went out messed with it came back on still using the TRS25 could be battery or loose batt cap?
Not true, unless by two buddies white letters just happen to be defective too, as my older gold letter one is FAR superior to theirs.
I JUST GOT ONE TOO. AND EVERYTHING IS FINE WITH MINE, i LOVE IT! NO ISSUES
How much perfect range
would you ever aim with the dot in that top corner?
It's most likely a counterfeit. Amazon is flooded with them and the way they commingle inventory, it doesn't matter who you ordered from.
I just bought one with silver letters and mine doesn't have this issue with disappearing dot.
Thx for the Video and greetings from Germany
PS: There is always a reason to make one new model of the same product, it calls *PROFIT*
douchebag Bushnell
Why are you sure it's not just a defective scope?

I have the new model, works fine.
Thanks for sharing !
Who was the seller for the gold letters on Amazon?
I think that just there new future of the red dot
I have both, no problem
James Perez that is great
I seen this problem a friend I know has the yellow works great. So I got my son the bus hell but his had the white lettering and light disappears when moving your head and the dot will disappear from your sight.

TEXAN PISTOLERO I have a newer bushnell with the white letters and the red dot does disappear. Thanks for the information & video.
where would you order the yellow letter version?
I doubt these were intended for the recoil of an AK mine is the newer and never had an issue. That sounds like a wiring problem
I got a new one on my 4570 for red deer in nz works fine my one is a 6 o'clock i think yours is just a nockoff that some one has just tryed to copy the older type
I have a white lettering 4 o'clock and it does not have that problem. works fine.
First question of all :
Is the 'White-lettered' is not original Bushnell's red dot? Because there are alot of copies for this red dot model
I have a new one with white letters and don't have any issues
It’s a lot better now
I got one today
am i the only one that noticed the finger print on the lens? maybe that the reason for the fading of the dot?
Gr8 🔴 on my original tanx foda review regarding da new 1 tanx foda heds up 💯🤙🏽😎🏝
Alooooooooha
Why is this an issue? isnt the dot off target anyway unless its in the middle?
My old golder letter one seems far superior, to me, than my buddy's new white letter
I have a white label one and it broke after less than 200 rds from a CZ858. Sending it back to Bushnell I'm not impressed. the dot disappears and flickers like mad.
I've got same issue with the white lettered dot
I had a white letter mounted on an ultimak rail I got it very hot and it still worked flawlessly.I have since replaced it with an aimpoint micro but am going to use bushnell on my other Ak.
Possibly that one unit is defective. Mine works just fine and she the "new one".
Return that white letter one. I have a white one and yours is definitely defective
Amazon ships from multiple venders and that white lettering one is most likely a fake. I bet it won't hold zero after a few time on a real firearm.
The white lettering SCREAMS Chinese knock off. They sell them on eBay cheap!
NOTHiNG wrong with the “ white letter” newer TRS-25; you might have a defective one- the newer model has clearer glass( no tint ); I have both gold and white letter versions- both are still 3 moa- the only difference is the newer has a smaller emitter...
I have the white lettering. New manufacturing Works great. You just have a bad sight!,
Got a new white letter model on 4/18/19 and it does not have this issue.
How can you verify by the serial number anything in particular? Any numbers or letters to be sure it's legit?
I got a white letter TRS25. Shot it on .22 up to 45.70. You don’t want my ass shooting at you out to 200 yards. Where do y’all get these myths? Yea, I know! A moment of fame while watching another you tube expert! Come to my place with your gear. Prove up
Someone said on the newer one the glass is a lot less blue. Is that correct?
white lettering....not disappearing problem....go figure...... :-)
I found the same thing between my new one an my old one. bout makes me sick!
Channel Cat Chaser I guess its a gamble when you order one, some people are getting good ones and others get lemons.
Thanks for getting back with me
Maybe your friend buy a fake one sadly....
I think your buddy has a bad item i have a new one with white lettering and the dot does not do that in fact i own 2 because of the price all good he needs to return his and get a new one just saying
Maybe you got a fake?!?
Just bought one from Amazon its my sec one and there both junk. People are saleing junk thought Amazon.
YOU BOUGHT A FAKE BRO...
