I said it before and I say it again I owe you a lot, Mark. Your direct and sensible approach helped me when I first started to get my way of life in order, and it still helps me now that I have reached my short term goals.
It is a long ride to health and fitness, it feels better when you know someone has your back and shows you how you can be better each day

Thank you again Mark for all that you have done!! I am 55, seriously out of shape & overweight and just finished the 2nd week of my 3rd cycle of the TOI program. Your sensible breakdown of fitness, motivational videos and practical long term approach has been the game changer for me. For 2.5 months now I have won the mental battle and have faith in myself that I will continue to do so. I have seen improvements in my posture, how I walk & move , how I feel and I am about to punch a new hole in my belt to compensate for the weight I have lost!
Everybody reading this, you can do this!! If my middle aged fat ass can do this, so can you!!! Listen to Mark's logic & explanations, listen to the motivation and just get up & try. Revel in each little win, completed workout, etc. and use it to fuel your motivation for the next goal...you got this!!!
After a 4th cycle of TOI I plan to run through the Club Integration Track and then see where I am at for starting the Intro To Kettlebells. I genuinely look forward to all of it and seeing were I am after a year of work. Hope the fires have not effected you or your friends & loved ones!!

Principle: Start with success. Thank you for your consistent clarity. Your channel has helped me realize the importance of repeating the simple truths over and over again.

I see this every year, and was just reminded of it a few days ago. I'm a regular gym-goer and every January you get the influx of the "New Year, New Me" people. Credit to them for setting a goal, but in most situations they go too hard too fast and they're done. I saw a guy who obviously hasn't taken care of himself in some time and he was blasting it out on an elliptical. He was dripping with sweat and barely able to walk after. Next day, he was there again. I'd be surprised if he lasts much more than a week as once the fatigue factor kicks in, taking a day or two to replenish and recover will become a week or two, then a month or two.
    Start slow, build up, sustain.

having to continually reset and rebuild the basics is really frustrating but it feels encouraging to hear you acknowledge that's just the way it is sometimes and others struggle too. I have really benefited from your content, just progressing kettleball halos is transforming my shoulder mobility.

That's awesome, Brad. Mark has said before even though he's in shape, working out sucks. Lol. When you get into the pattern, you learn to embrace the suck.

This is a great message. My mum had trouble getting into routines because of back pain flaring up when exercising. I provided your videos and she got into KB swings and has massively improved.
I'm not keen on new years resolutions - you don't grow or improve unless your minds on the task and making any change just because others are is not a foundation of personal growth. I also don't believe in "I'll start Monday" (January being the Monday of every year) - start when you're ready, when you're feeling motivation and with knowledge on what to do. Thanks Mark

Walking burpees is good to start with. Start with two. Then four when ready. Then 6 when ready........ Five years ago that worked for me. I've been working out ever since.

Love this approach/philosophy, a bit like Japanese kaizen, and is similar to the approach I've been taking for the last 6 months getting back into it w kettlebells. Out of necessity i.e. I get bad DOMS and I've also 'crashed' previously by overdoing it and then losing the momentum. Keep having to pull back my impatient mind that wants to move forward faster than what is best for my 46f body, and I find it's a better approach for long term consistency. I feel validated by my fav movement and kettlebell teacher 😊❤

I will be celebrating National Quitter's Day as I usually do with swings, burpees and snatches at the gym!
Wait wasn't that National Quit Sitting on the Couch Day! 🤣🤣🤣

If you find that outside your front door is surrounded by snow and ice.... Time to get creative with a route to walk around the home, walking on the spot or maybe even some step ups on a low step. Putting your favourite music in for this is fun

Just that someone already not healthy, potentially taking a fall on the ice, could set them back further, either due to injury or a confidence blow. Same for people with smoke filled air outside etc.. indoor options are good alternative

For Me its diet, I workout 6 days a week clubs, kettlebells, bodyweight , some barbell , I eat good for half a week then ruin it all with bullshit. Diet is the worst

You're putting a lot of work in & then sabotaging yourself. You should enlist the services of a cognitive behavioral specialist to help you analyze & troubleshoot this issue.

Mark, what are your thoughts on scheduling a deload week every 4-8 weeks? And what does the deload look like for you? Exercising with light weights? Once a week? Or take the entire week off?

How are things over there Mark? I hear and read on the newspapers that it's literally hell. Dante's inferno. I am very sure it wasn't an accident. Someone must have started the fire.

On subscription with your course for Deconditioned Individuals - really good - background to my question is my knees are just not right, always quick to pain but not in the same spot, currently tight on the outside.
I'm on Week 7 of Indian Club, should I start doing some kettlebell as you recommend here? Bit hesitent to start Kettlebell whilst doing Indian Club.

Basically means the same as unactive. So, if you're skinny and barely eat anything too.
