It is not a real reason be ashamed of!! After all We are just talking about music, preferences, likes, just that. You are free to like or dislike anything at any time. I liked their music at first listening back then in 1993. But I became a real real big fan in 1995 when I finally had the chance to listen to their entire discography in format K7 tapes. I miss those teenage times sometimes.😃
Poor bastards... I'm a big defender of Virtual XI and of Blaze Bayleys tenure in Maiden in general, but Angel and the Gambler really is a load of bollocks.
When Blind Guardian repeat the same line of Valhalla for five solid minutes its because the crowd are losing their mind singing it in a frenzy of metal ecstasy - in this song it feels like they expected a similar thing to happen but it ends up coming across like someone yelling 'COME ON I CAN'T HEAR YOU' with increasing desperation as the crowd silently wait for the next song. You can practically hear the audience thinking 'Come on guys we choked out four, now move on!'. The cheer at the end has a distinctly ironic tone.
@@mrmanakin9684nah, Bruce has nothing to do with that. It's objectively a bad song that quickly overstays its welcome with endless repetition, this album has two other stinkers that suffer from the same problem but never got played live.
Dave Murray is the happiest man on the face of the planet. He is always smiling. During "Lightning Strikes Twice" he's grinning like a kid...I think it's because he helped write it, if I'm not mistaken. Also, why didn't they do more Di'Anno stuff with Blaze? If it wasn't for the Blaze era I wouldn't have seen Maiden in a freakin night club in Lubbock Tx. That proved to me they are the real deal bringing their music to the fans. That showed respect to us fans what a commitment UP THE IRONS!
Quando incluíram lord of the flies no set da turnê do dance of death eles mudaram o tom dos instrumentos.
I've been a maiden fan since 1982 when I first heard number of the beast album and I liked the stuff they did with blaze great voice leel Hambleton from Sheffield
yeah you're right on that one, they dropped the tuning on lord of the flies, dont know you but for that song sounds totally different on that tuning, i preffer the original one with blaze and on standard tuning, lord of the flies is one rare case in where bruce does not make justice to the original one.
They changed the key of the song from F# to Em when they played it with Bruce singing. It's a lower key (a whole tone lower) but Bruce sang some of the choruses an octave higher, like New says. The guitar tunings didn't change, still in standard.
Alonso Palma Garrido because they were assholes... Blaze wanted, maiden didnt, so they destroyed him. Its imposimble to sing something that you cant. Blaze is a good singer but they didnt respect him, and made him sound shit... Even he done good work
Their darkest era ??? NO to me it will always be a Golden era....so many incredible Golden Gems were written and performed during this era, and we STILL can hear echoes in their later music. And this era was the beginning of their slow, soft intros, mainly on accoustic guitars....their performances was epic, I wish we could see something like this again, so free, relaxed and going near to the audience, this extremly underrated singer Blaze Bayley came out of Maiden stronger than ever and his solo career is unbelieveable...this era seems like a giant missed opportunity somehow......
This is so amazing! Blaze, Bruce and Paul are all amazing Iron Maiden vocalists, end of discussion! Blaze just came in the wrong time in Iron Maiden. If he came right after Paul he could still be in Iron Maiden...

They play so fast here when compared to today!!! Was at the show in Düsseldorf/Germany on this tour and loved it. But yes it's evident that Blaze can't sing the Bruce songs... . After he was kicked from Maiden he became a much better singer. Love some of his solo albums (Silicon Messiah, The Man who would not die).
Blaze was always a good singer. He is not Bruce but he has a strange sadness in his voice and really can sing in some hight notes. All voices arent the same. The fault was from the Irons who didnt change the tuning to feat Blazes voice. That is the truth which noone understand. Blaze personal albums are amazing. But i think that they didnt respect his abilities, so he sounded awful.
the music itself wasn't bad...... it's just the fact, that Blaze's vocals can never create that excitement around the music as Bruce's vocals do...... that's it
I enjoyed small parts of both of the Blaze records, even though overall they were among the weakest material. Not due to Blaze himself. He did the best with the material he was given. The songwriting was just not on par with what had come before or what came after the reunion. True Maiden fans though can't deny Sign of the Cross, Futureal, or The Clansman. Hell, even the sub-par No Prayer record had Mother Russia and Tailgunner.
Like the other person said, the song just weren't up there. - Although, I think most songs on 'Virtual XI' are great, at least good, even 'Angel and the Gambler' is alright and that's probably the worst on the album. - But that album likely got a bad reputation because of 'The X Factor', which just has way more mediocre stuff. - I've struggled trying to find which songs are the best on that one, but I did find a few. Only about half of them I could give lke 4 out of 5 stars, the rest is just mediocre to downright bad or boring at times. I don't even think Steve and the band would disagree to that. So just because someone is a fan they don't have to enjoy everything. But yea, fans do eat most things their idols throw at them. Arguably 'Fear of the Dark' is even worse than 'The X Factor'. I honesly can't find much interesting on there either. Maybe almost half of them I can live with?... There's the title-track, which is a classic, but I feel is kind of overplayed and got boring because of it. - "Quick" is just a cool intense Rock-track. "Afraid" and "Wasting" are beautiful, but other than that... "Here to Eternity" and "Weekend" are kinda fun Rock 'n' Roll tracks, but that's about it. - I honestly think both "X Factor" and "No Prayer" have more substance, and out of these four I dare to say "Virtual" is even the best one. - Might not be how most people see it, but after all these years that's what I think of it. - And basically any of the other albums are above those four... Maybe... (I'm not a big fan of the most recent two... Though I love "Brave" and "Dance" and I think "AMoLaD" is still solid.)
J. Issac Garcia G. to me this era in Maiden was fantastic, so many Golden Gems and even masterpieces were written and performed during this time, even if it´s VASTLY underrated we still hear echoes of this era in their later music.....Blaze made a tremendous impact to the Maidens music, just as he did for me, I love his dark, intense and powerful voice......I definitely consider Blace as an ace singer...
@@michaelangeloh.5383 Fear Of The Dark is my least favorite Iron Maiden album. I only love four songs off of it. Be Quick Or Be Dead, Afraid To Shoot Strangers, Wasting Love, and especially the title track Fear Of The Dark. I love almost everything on No Prayer For The Dying, accept for Hooks In You. I love everything on both The X Factor and Virtual 11.
@@michaelangeloh.5383 Chains of Misery, Childhood's End, The Fugitive and a few others. Don't know why you are downplaying Fear of the Dark, it's far better made than the Blaze Bayley albums, specially the production. The only legitimate bad song in Fear of the Dark is The Apparition, which is just a tuneless, repetitive slog. And to respond the original comment, you dont' have to like everything a band does to be their fan. Criticizing a band when they are making subpar material is a GOOD thing. And myself, i find the Blaze albums to be their weakest, from their terrible production, occasional very weak lyricism, and weak riffs and solos.
Here's the thing. Everything Blaze can sing, Bruce can sing better. I'm not saying he can sing it better or worse. But Blaze can sing only some things that Bruce can sing, because Bruce's vocal range is just so much wider. The beginning of The Evil That Men Do on this concert actually sounded rather nice, but when the time came for the chorus, which Bruce is practically screaming, Blaze just can't muster vocals that high. That said, I'd love it if a proper live album was released from the 1993 - 1998 era, as all these low quality videos on UA-cam make it very hard to hear Blaze and judge him properly.
When I first heard the live version of it that's on the two-disc "Best Of The Beast" set (one of the first Maiden CDs I owned), I thought it WAS from the X-Factor, it just sounds so natural sung by Blaze.
I love this era...play X Factor and Virtual XI often. My only mistake was waiting 22 years to hear any of it. Now I can't get enough. No chance to see them back then cuz the shows in our area were cancelled due to voice issues. But these songs are quite good. If they weren't then Bruce would not have sung 5 of them when he returned til 2004. X Factor definitely a top 4 or 5 Maiden album!!
Do not remember, DiAnno pretty much put Maiden up there, then Bruce just changed the direction. X Factor to this day, is still one of my favorite albums of all time
blaze is a brilliant singer but at a lower range . his voice just didn't fit maiden . feel sorry for him and the backlash he got . his solo stuff is excellent.
Maybe if the band played a little more material from no prayer for the dying and fear of the dark, it would of fit better in Blaze's vocal range. The X factor and virtual XI tunes sounded great with him.
Cool to see these kind of old live gigs again. This was the last breaths of the Blaze era Maiden. I can see and hear why. He is doing ok for the most part with his own song material but when it comes to the Bruce stuff... From Hallowed... and onwards it is a train wreck. The rest of the band keep´s it up by the sheer high energy level but Blaze´s voice crumbles. Watch also how the band interacts with each other except with Blaze. He just walks around looking pissed off for the most part, really trying but.... no cigar. I have heard the more recent work of his and that stuff, written specially for him, sounds good. Maiden is something else, another level, another world.
This to me is Iron Maiden! Right up till 1999 they were a great band. It was wrong to bring Adrian and Bruce back at this stage. Later maybe, but at this point Blaze had more to say with Maiden and BNW would have been a good album with his voice.
As a Blaze fan, I'm happy too. I don't think Blaze fans like me wants to convince people that Blaze was the best perfect vocalist and frontman for Iron Maiden or something like that, because he clearly wasn't. What fans like me want is justice for him in the Iron Maiden family, that people recognise him as the man who carried on the stage in the darkest period giving his very best. Nowadays he's a monster as a singer, Maiden fans should give a chance to his solo work
This is obviously a show where Blaze could hear himself on stage (for a change) and it shows. He sings the songs from his two Maiden albums great as always and sings the Bruce/Paul-Era songs as fits his voice. This is still my favourite period of the band, whatever anyone says. Blaze never gets the credit he deserves for the five years he fronted this band, quite frankly. Yes, he doesn't have the same vocal range as Bruce Dickinson - NO SHIT, SHERLOCK! Bruce can't sing Blaze's low notes either. Dave and Janick can't play seven-string guitars, for that matter. Steve Harris probably can't play upright bass. Listen to this for what it is - for my money: Great.
Chris Ryan Finally someone who tells the truth, to be honest I can´t ever understand all this animosity towards Blaze, he was their choise and he did everything he possibly could, if they wouldn´t lower their tuning that wasn´t his fault.....I love his voice, both in Maiden and even more in his solo career, and the X-Factor especially is a downright masterpiece...
Their mistake with Blaze was to actually get him sing on many Bruce songs, thus making him constantly blow his voice throughout the show. If they focused more on their Di'Anno era and Blaze's songs along with some songs which actually fit Blaze voice (Like Fear of The Dark or Afraid to Shoot Strangers) it would have been a lot more pleasant experience for anyone at those shows. Just listen to how awesome Iron Maiden (the song) sounds with his voice.
22:12 he can hit the note, I just assume its taxing to do it every time. I think anyone who has done any music doesn't even perceive any vocal differences as something negative. The fans are here for the show and the energy, hitting all notes seems to be secondary.
Blaze sounds good singing some " Bruce's" songs such as Afraid to Shoot Strangers and Heaven Can wait. Also he did a good job on Wasted Years. Obviously, they should not have played Hallowed be thy name nor Number of the Beast. At least, change the tuning to fit his vocals.
this singer sucksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

I'm reading the comments and listening to the show, this solo comes up just as I hit yours. Had to scroll up to see if Janick was having a stroke or something.
Don't talk wet, who do you think played on the every album since 1990? Yes so Adrian's solos are no more, but Adrian isnt in the band during this time so it natural for Janick to do it his way. Plus when I was typing this, The Clansmen came on and it features an epic Janick solo.
@@davidkilpatrick7992 Yes but the original solos are what make the songs what they are...Replacing it with a different solo completely takes away from what the song was meant to sound like and takes the feeling away.

I miss those teenage times sometimes.😃
imagine having to sit through angel and the gambler live
Indeed. It was the absolute nadir of this great band. Abominable…
The cheer at the end has a distinctly ironic tone.
angel and the gambler is a masterpiece, maiden fans just suck on bruce too much
@@mrmanakin9684nah, Bruce has nothing to do with that.
I thought he did a good job with Sanctuary (except for the stupid break).
Nicko is in a super rush to go golfing 😆😆 the pace of the songs is incredible
even he's been a bad singer, who I'm not think he is, the songs that maiden did with him was fucking great songs. "Men on the edge", "sign of the cross", "virus", "2 am", "Lord of the flies", "futureal", "lighting strikes twice", "when two worlds collide", "clansman" and others great songs they did together are anthems for me.
haters gonna hate.
totally agree with you mate.
Eduardo Junior Well said. all good songs.
Agreed
I think this line up was a collective delirium. A good one, though.
From the bottom of my heart Thank You Stave Herris for your tremendous work, you have given us treasures through the years.....almost every tour from the guys we love the most !! Thank you !!
Meu primeiro show do Iron Maiden. Noite inesquecível, além é claro do Helloween e do Raimundos que arrebentaram!
Eu tava lá kkkkk
If it wasn't for the Blaze era I wouldn't have seen Maiden in a freakin night club in Lubbock Tx. That proved to me they are the real deal bringing their music to the fans. That showed respect to us fans what a commitment UP THE IRONS!
Quando incluíram lord of the flies no set da turnê do dance of death eles mudaram o tom dos instrumentos.
I've been a maiden fan since 1982 when I first heard number of the beast album and I liked the stuff they did with blaze great voice leel Hambleton from Sheffield
When they played Lord of the Flies with Bruce, they changed the tone to fit his higher voice. Why didn't they do the same with Blaze?
I don't think they changed the tone in Lord of the flies. Bruce just sang the pre-chorus and some of the choruses one octave higher.
no, really they did it. From Amajor to Gmajor. So it is like tune down, but Bruce can reach the octave then...
yeah you're right on that one, they dropped the tuning on lord of the flies, dont know you but for that song sounds totally different on that tuning, i preffer the original one with blaze and on standard tuning, lord of the flies is one rare case in where bruce does not make justice to the original one.
Nicko was blazing on that show! Superb drumming!
Sempre foi meia boca
Blaze is absolutely great.
He owns that clansman!
His solo work is incredible.
Him and Absolva are making the best music.
Agree. His solo career is incredible. Now his voice is bettter than ever.
@@kaztermetal his voice is too nasally now but was great in 2008
This is so amazing! Blaze, Bruce and Paul are all amazing Iron Maiden vocalists, end of discussion! Blaze just came in the wrong time in Iron Maiden. If he came right after Paul he could still be in Iron Maiden...

Blaze will be always part of the history of Iron Maiden as Paul D'anno will be never unforgettable!
They play so fast here when compared to today!!! Was at the show in Düsseldorf/Germany on this tour and loved it. But yes it's evident that Blaze can't sing the Bruce songs... .
After he was kicked from Maiden he became a much better singer. Love some of his solo albums (Silicon Messiah, The Man who would not die).
not really. go to see a classic guitarrist playin the trooper with blaze , and he sing like before xd
It's easy to see, that Blaze is "tired" singing Bruce's songs... but for me he is a great vocalist in his solo works!
hey i met blaze in 2015 it didnt cost a penny he was fronting his band the foundry with a j pero on drums who i met as well he died a week later
The Man That Would Not Die is ass kicking album, his last album is fine too ;)
this period was just as relevant as any other in their career, it's great to see this!
the music itself wasn't bad...... it's just the fact, that Blaze's vocals can never create that excitement around the music as Bruce's vocals do...... that's it
if this era didnt happen there might not be song like Clansman or Sign of the Cross
X Factor and Virtual XI have very good songs, how can anyone consider itself as an iron maiden fan if does not enjoy of these albums??

Saw Maiden with Blaze in Belfast 1995 and it was a brilliant concert, he never got the credit he deserved
Muito bom show, amigo meu ainda pegou a munhequeira do Harris.
Yes i respect Blaze for his time in Maiden. The X Factor was a great album, Virtual XI however wasnt one of my faves.
Blaze suits Afraid to Shoot Strangers. That tune wouldn't be out of place on The X Factor.
Love those fast tempos they had before. X factor and virtual was good albums. Brave new world was last classic maiden album❤
Nice quality!
Probably one of there best shows of the 90s
bom demais!!!!
I don't care for Bruce but this blaze completely sux! And without Adrian there is no greatness.
Do not remember, DiAnno pretty much put Maiden up there, then Bruce just changed the direction. X Factor to this day, is still one of my favorite albums of all time
Ellis M well you´r not alone, I love the X-Factor and considering it to be one of their very best....
2/5/98 Italy ,Pesaro..i was 15 and me e my father go to iron Maiden GiG..Great concert
Futureal...Man On The Edge...When Two Worlds Collide...Up The Irons!
Say whatever you want, but Futureal and Lightning Strikes Twice are two of Maiden's best songs ever.
blaze is a brilliant singer but at a lower range . his voice just didn't fit maiden . feel sorry for him and the backlash he got . his solo stuff is excellent.
+Mark Ewing I agree. Tuning down a half step would have done wonders for his Maiden carer.
Mark Ewing they destroyed him by making him sing songs in tune that he couldnt... To bad cause he is a good singer
Blaze is not a bad singer...... but Maiden was a little too over-the-top for him...... he can never do justice to Bruce's vocals......
Maybe if the band played a little more material from no prayer for the dying and fear of the dark, it would of fit better in Blaze's vocal range. The X factor and virtual XI tunes sounded great with him.
He is terrible...Can't see how he got the gig in first place. Terrible.
blaze is great!!! This public is very sad.
THANKS !!!!!!
A turne do album "ruim" do Iron que me fez começar a escutar a banda! ^^
This to me is Iron Maiden! Right up till 1999 they were a great band. It was wrong to bring Adrian and Bruce back at this stage. Later maybe, but at this point Blaze had more to say with Maiden and BNW would have been a good album with his voice.
da hora esse show \m/
I was pretty bummed seeing them in 98 but when Bruce came back in 99 it was such a relief!!!! Blaze was in a no win situation
Sorry to all the Blaze fans, but damn I am happy Bruce and Adrian rejoined.
Nowadays he's a monster as a singer, Maiden fans should give a chance to his solo work
Piada
The Clansman sounded amazing ! Although the version these days on the Legacy tour is just as good .
Nostalgia, estava nesse show!

Chris Ryan Finally someone who tells the truth, to be honest I can´t ever understand all this animosity towards Blaze, he was their choise and he did everything he possibly could, if they wouldn´t lower their tuning that wasn´t his fault.....I love his voice, both in Maiden and even more in his solo career, and the X-Factor especially is a downright masterpiece...
cheers mate!
Aliás vendo agora em 2021 pra recorda!
Really enjoyed this, good work Blaze. These songs are waaay better live! Heavy as hammers too! 🤘
Bayley's version of FOTD is fuckin killer! A highly talented but highly underrated vocalist!
blaze mandou muito bem nesse show , grande performance.....
Perfect, Just perfect.
The Very Best performance from Blaze Bayley in that Season , i think they could release this live show like oficial live Record from Blaze.
FUTUREAL...BLAZE AMAZING!!!
I remember the day the ed hunter tour began... Bruce made a comeback shook around the world
22:12 he can hit the note, I just assume its taxing to do it every time.
Magnifico
Wow, awesome!
this singer sucksssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Probably Blaze's best gig during his time with Maiden
Eu estava lá, muito louco
Good voice, on the drive
yeahhhh!!! MAIDEN FOREVER EVER THE BEST!!!
People need to stop ragging on Blaze. He had tough shoes to fill and did a good job.
Um i never knew this was even real. I really cant believe they did that and being the band the are, very shocked that they could not find another replacement or backup or whatever he was. Horrible and i dont feel sorry for that but i do feel bad for them, they put themselves thru it
45:54 ... or how to ruin a masterpiece solo ... my God, Janick...
You're so right ! It's a disaster !! But we love him anway !
That's the reason why I hate Janick.
