Just in case anyone is following along - I think the first attempt at making steel from iron failed because the output filter is probably set to "only allow through smelted products", but the iron ingot itself is a smelted product. So when you put iron in, the filter lets it straight out again before it can be smelted into steel.
Create is in nature the opposite of compact machines, it definitely takes space and can be a bit demanding fps wise but if you give it the area needed and build contraptions with aesthetics in mind you can get farms that are both cool looking and efficient, its probably the best part of create in fact, it is in a sense to counter the old technical mods where pretty much was just connecting blocks that do stuff in a row with autoeject and autoinput and you ended up with just a bunch of blocks connected with cables doing everything and it just doesnt really look all that interesting.
Yeah create is great because it achieves its own name very well

Tip for anyone working around Crushing wheels. you can put a block or slab or whatever above the center to avod you being pulled in. Safety first :P
Unless that block is something like a chute, pulling items but still blocking players, then that wouldn't work for a regular block.

The curses aren't actually that bad, i recently started playing and i chose cursed mode, and equipped the ring. It's easy once you get the skill book plus the hardskin skill. Their are also items that are only obtainable by equipping this ring, which reap massive benefits.
also, you don't permanently lose hearts, when you recover your items your hearts return with them
and it have timer for some item too
Another thing to note you can’t lose all of your hearts one of the books from the mod talks about the ring and in it ,it says that there is a limit idk what it is but you can’t lose all of your hearts and perma-die
the limit is the last heart
Personally, I've found it fine until the end, where things are level 30, and they are all auto-agroed. Makes the end very annoying.
I have to say I'm really enjoying the content and your lightning-fast schedule. Regarding the factory hopper, the top setting is 'range', which is from 0 (like a vanilla hopper) to 4 (which gives you a 9x9 square). The bottom setting is 'rate', which dials between 1 and 32 items per second. The faucet can be used in conjunction with waterlogged blocks to output infinite water and can be used as an input/output for basins.

As someone, who comes from a technical modding Minecraft experience, as you do, the Create mod might feel bulky, if you compare it e.g. to machines from Thermal Expansion. But Create tries to extend on the vanilla experience and therefore, making a lot of vanilla “machines” and farms a lot simpler and smaller.
Also I find it more versatile and interesting for that reason, that you don’t just craft the machine and put power to it, but actually have to build the machine yourself.

I was so lost with this modpack shot for the vids dude, you started as I did and it's really helped my progression!! I found a Recall scroll for the iron spells mod and was able to use it in an iron bound tome which was rather cheap to make. It's a home teleport! I can explore safely now!

can confirm that lava blasting iron will produce ad astra steel. I do it all the time. Maybe your smart chute filter is your problem.
Approaching Create with the idea that "making everything nice and tidy and small" and then being frustrated and disappointed when that doesn't work is the complete wrong way, imo. The whole point of Create is aesthetic automation. Create builds should be like Bdubs' "Prettystone" Redstone contraptions from Hermitcraft. You should embrace the bulk and tangle and turn it into something glorious, not try to hide it away and compact it as much as possible.
Making some things small and tidy is ok with create but yeah using create as the build is such a cool thing that really revolutionized "tech" type mods and just made most of the old ones completely obsolete
The ring isn't too bad. Even if you get spawned in the dead of winter, in a snowy biome, with spawn being a snow pit. You only need to approach structures differently
the most powerful accesories in the mod that the ring is from is locked behind the "psuedo" hardcore mode. I'd look into it more and see if its something you would like to do later down the line, they are very fun to use.

from what I see it just unlocks an infinite (blacker lotus-like) bonemeal and a mining charm (giving 1 fortune) that is used towards RotSC exclusive uber-items.
Not being able to sleep - not the best use of a content creator's time, unless it's Livestreamed.
Neutral Mobs are enemies - 100% with you, that's taking away content, I love pets in minecraft and happy little farms.
I was dreading the ring because I figured it would change your focus from building to constant survival so I’m glad you’re not going to use the ring.

14:30 All the modpacks from Luna Pixel studios are half-baked like this. "Better" Minecraft, Fear Nightfall, etc.. Low quality, unoptimized, mods barely configured to work together, randomly thrown into the modpack without much thought for gamedesign or balance, some texturepack that conflicts with modded textures by making them look out of place, MCreator mods. I highly suggest you drop this
Any tech modpack worth their salt wouldv`e changed the ad astra steel recipe to not invalidate the IE one.

The whole idea of Steampunk, and Create is Steampunk, is the opposite of compactify. Steampunk is Victorian era technology, usually pinned to the 19th century early industrial revolution, scaled to the modern world. Steampunk is primarily based on steam power in the literature, and steam power is bulky, noisy and a bit messy. I think both Create and Immersive capture the Steampunk vibe quite well. Big, complicated and imposing structures are the essence of Steampunk. If you are going to do Steampunk, then the bigger the better. And that isn't even covering the fantasy side of Steampunk which plays a big role in Steampunk literature and seems to be lacking a bit in this modpack unfortunately.

its great protection and also holds the pressure ya need

The cursed ring's curses can be lifted with some relics you get down the road but it's a pain to play I got diamond sword after 50 hours of gameplay

This pack is so crazy, I just use sword to get meat from animal. and somehow just get bad luck effect

If you die while being cursed by the Ring it does take away one heart But only for like 2 mins then you get it back... So it's not that Bad. But yes i agree the buffs it gives are rlly not worth. Ive been thinking about it and it would be much more worth if the Ring would give like +3 or even +5 looting and Fortune... Then you would accually get something in return...
The stuff that makes the ring worth it is all of the unique items you get access to

That ring can be taken off. For this you need to undergo a ritual where (I don't know what item it was) you have to hold and go to the nether where you have to jump into the middle of the lava lake (be careful it must be marked as a lava lake in F3).
Otherwise, the ring isn't too bad. you will lose hearts but not all of them. About 1-3 will remain. And it's not permanent because the hearts can be recovered with some item (I don't remember either because I played it a long time ago)
I just have to say about the bonuses that most of them are made in such a way that it "negates" the curses of the ring and also gives great extra bonuses

If ur worry about ring regarding curses only ,then
The ring does not cause too much issue in this modpack especially excluding nether.
The heart loss is offset by heart regain in a few minutes.also.
As other mods can resolve most of your curses.
Do check those.
Coz bro u were awesome when you explored every mods before but this is one mod you never used this ring ever which reakly buks ur old fans like us .again ur current videos are wonderful , all ur builds and the items creation or machines are really good and I like it

You could play the pack to end and redo the bosses with the ring afterwards as a challenge gauntlet, would that be an idea? I mean, you have the gear at this point but it still would be a challenge.

You actually can craft the ring and is the worst experience ever. I did it one time in a server with friends and we had to change modpack. One time I was fighting in full diamond armor and a shiel 4 Zombies and almost died. The nether was not available to me, and the experiences, looting, and fortune weren't even that good. If you want a pointless disadvantage in your game uses the ring

If you didnt want to worry about the curses of the ring, why didnt you just choose the easy accessory...kinda leaves a empty spot in the whole thing...the ring is there to give more of a challenge which you are just nullifying...

Also, you can't perma-die with the ring equipped. The lowest your max HP can go is 3 hearts.

The whole modpack is around create, so why should he go halfheartedly into another mod just for 1 item, if the creaters intended that
