I spent 4 months of my life filming this and i would like to never do it again. In this video i begin in the void, where there is no block in the entire world. 40:43 the reason you didn't get a saddle is because it is a treasure item, which around 1.16, had their drop chance change. Now to get one, you need 2 blocks of water in every direction (including depth). Then you have the 0.8% chance of getting a treasure item. (Bows, enchanted books, fishing rods, name tags, nautilus shells, and saddles) hope this helps if you're reading this.
Yes, I was confused as to why he was using a really old afk fish farm after 1.16, but then realized that he wanted junk, not treasure.

Most of this is correct, but not the part about biomes. The only biome that affects fishing is jungle, in which you can get bamboo, and on bedrock you can also get cocoa beans (I have no idea why this is bedrock exclusive, mojang pls fix parity)

About the chicken… the chicken that jockeys ride are weirdly counted as hostile mobs even after their rider dies so they will despawn like any hostile mob so the chicken are not dying they are just despawning
You can counteract this by putting a nametag on the chicken or waiting for it to lay eggs so you can create a normal chicken with the eggs

that was done to stop the chickens from slowly inflating the passive mob count as if you had a longer term world someone playing in older chunks would unintentionally max out the passive mob count.

21:41 Fun fact, berry/barry 4.0 and 5.0 are technically 'hostile mobs', and despawn when you move far enough away as such. If you name them, they will actually stay, and reclassify as a regular chicken.
They won't reclass as regular chickens (they will never lay eggs, chicken jockey chickens are coded to never lay eggs so the jockey rider cannot pick up the egg and never despawn lol), they just won't despawn if renamed or put in boats (like other hostile mobs). You can however breed them to get a regular chicken!

In Bedrock Edition, no saddle is required to ride the S-Horse, while in Java, they're only born tamed, not rideable. So if this guy plays Java and you do Bedrock, you're both right, and if the inverse is true, you're both mistaking.
In short, NO, unless you manually corrupt your save.

Evidence of Mud Flaps being dishonest or just cheating:
1: "the nearest plains biome is over 500 blocks away" meanwhile his bridge looks more about 90 blocks long as seen here: 17:25, as well as matching up with his block count before and after bridging (had 4 stacks before, and 2 stacks + 10 extra blocks after) (dishonest).
2: Looks like he accidentaly showed footage of cheated in water he said he didnt have at 20:33 (Note, he said they dont have water, and only once the farm was done being built do we see the cauldren. As another note, this is the only time we ever see the inside of the mob grinder) (cheating)
3: He seems very casual about having gotten 7 emeralds after an unsaid time frame at 24:26. This sugests not much time has passed, but doing the following math: 1% chance for a fox to spawn with an emerald (so an avg of 100 foxes to 1 emerald), multiplied by 20 for the passive mob spawn timer, multiplied again by 7 for how many emeralds you get, and you get just a tad under 4 hours of grinding (3.88... to be exact), this is 11 minecraft days, which, while isnt a lot. Certanly isnt worth such a tiny reaction. Also please note that these numbers are on the high endm assuming that every fox that spawns goes into the trap before the passive mob cap is reached (possible cheating).

Pro tip: when repeatedly doing the same trade with a villager, once you shift click the emeralds into your inventory, if you don't move your mouse and you press space, it restocks the trade so you can spam it. This actually saves a lot of time

@@adamhayes4691 i have watched a ton of videos on this topic, I'm invested in the idea of beating the game with nothing. that being said, the video didn't say that there were exploits and out of game shenanigans, so it made me believe that there was some new way to get lava glitchless. he didn't explain that for half the video, and even said at one point he would do it "without backporting or switching to another world."

He does know some tricks around a one block world though, which are pretty creative and impressive, even though it's completely unnecessary. The title is most certainly clickbait, it should be called "Can you beat Minecraft from a void preset?"

Insane run! The thing that interests me most is how you were able to so consistently regen chunks with only a chest full of books. From testing I've done I found that even with like 1GB or RAM I can't regen chunks with any less than roughtly 350 chests full of books, all full of random ascii and chinese characters like in the video. Maybe 800 MB is a sweet spot, or maybe 1.20.1 is just more susceptible to it, who knows.

Fun fact: acording to some other youtubers, the tick speed regarding the lava filling the cauldrons is faster the less players are online (mostly for servers) and with about two people online it only took around 8-10 mins to fill a cauldron.

FYI for your little fishing arc, it’s possible to get enchanted books and enchanted bows/fishing rods from fishing alone. Although it’s very rare, the results are worth it.
You reminded me that BudgetMC recorded series about real one block challenge and it's pretty fun. I'm not advertising anything, but it's cool and also required insane amounts of effort to record. One block (copared to zero) in some sense is harder, because you don't get that quirky platform via the save manipulation altough it's very clever. Anyway, really appreciate the hard work you put in and love the content as always
This video isn't zero blocks though, he actually started with the platform (about 800 blocks). Save manipulation isn't clever, it's cheating. If it counted, he could have also just merged in a regular world, which obviously goes against starting with "literally nothing". The challenge is still hard, but it's simply not what is in the video title.
Neurotic Goose also has a similar series, but as Terra_creeper mentioned, he also sort've uses the modpack to his advantage by spawning in dirt blocks. It's a far more tedious "cheat", but it does obey the modpack and doesn't combine worlds.
One block would also allow save manipulation.

It's basically a form of chunk-reloading, which is especially required: It's technically possible to beat the game by reloading one chunk (if it's a fully filled end portal chunk), although multiple chunk reloads are typically required. Why is it so bad to reload the beginning chunks to the void platform?
@@nathanjohnson2066 Because that is not what happened. I don't have a problem with reloading chunks. It's a glitch, but one you can do entirely within the game. I have a problem with creating a new world that contains blocks and going into your filesystem to manipulate the save data outside of the game so the blocks from the new world are merged into the starting world.

For clicks and views. Most if not all of these challenges require save manipulation. I don't consider the challenge complete if you have to manipulate game files to win. It's basically cheating but drastically downplayed.

That video came out 9 months ago as of the release of this video. It took at least 4 months for him to get that insane amount of footage edited into a very entertaining video while still uploading other videos in the meantime.
