I love these because we get to see just how much Miku adds musically. Live and omv, the camera moves too quickly to fully appreciate her contribution on the guitar. Especially when you consider when she started playing and how much else she brings to her band as well.
Completely agree with you, Chan, about how these instrumentals polish my appreciation for the band as a whole. I feel like I can better see what Kanami wanted to do with each song from solely a musical point of view and that's just fascinating.
Indeed! It's also just a different KIND of music, at least in my mind. For example, vocal-only music (like Pentatonix or barbershop quartets or gregorian chants) feels like an entire different artform when contrasted with instrument-only music. And the combination of the two is of course almost all music we listen to. Re-separating them like this bends my mind in interesting ways. :-)
A reminder that this concept is continued on the Band Maid Prime site. Individual members play other songs, with out the fancy white room look. Backgrounds seem to be what ever open space in their practice studio. Some of the more fun videos are of Saiki doing a stanza or two, including an early version of her Choose Me on solo piano.
I absolutely adore the Band-Maid instrumental versions of their songs! I mean ya of course, I feel guilty about liking them without Saiki, and when any of the ladies sing, either solely or in harmony, I totally love them, so I'm always conflicted hahaha!
There is definitely that conflict, yes. Band-Maid without Saiki? Not as good. But Band-Maid letting Saiki temporarily take a break while they jam? Just fine. :-)
Every album/EP since Conqueror (so also, Unseen World, and Unleash) has come with either a DVD or a Blu-Ray featuring several white room instrumental videos if you ordered one of the limited edition first press versions. Each of those videos has the band edit or the option of selecting which member you want to focus on. The bonus Blu-Ray/DVD limited edition versions of new record to be released in September will not have white room instrumental videos however, the bonus disc will be of their "Day Of Maid" concert from May 10th of this year. Also, they released a limited edition score book of Unseen World, which came with a bonus audio CD which is an instrumental version of that entire album.
Thanks for the info! At least one of the CDs I bought said it was coming with a bonus video disc and a photo book but only came with the disc. So I thought I was getting one of those special editions but alas, no.
These are fun to watch…but I will say these show me how much Saiki’s vocals are so instrumental in the Band-Maid sound. I believe you have talked about this before! Thanks again! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
Akane`s doble kick bass drum creates very unique rhythm progression of this song , that makes good contrast with catchy vocal part and you would feel that part more comfortable . Akane is a really master of rhythm . Her footwork is like doing with hands . that`s the one of reason why she called "half gorilla" ? just a my assuming . www
Somehow, she doesn't strike me as the "Sure, I'll do extra work" type of person, LOL. Now I would probably believe it if you told me that Kobato learned videography in order to film these. :-)
TightTightTight!!!!! I love Miku's white guitar strap with "Zemaitis" in black.....I always think it a name tag from the Maid Cafe. Good ear, I never noticed that Phantom guitarist before......maybe it was Saiki, Kanami taught her just for this song...Lol!
@@Chan_Fry Chan, here's a tune...kinda, that most reactors never react to. It's Called "Hard Wash" by Band-Maid that was released during the plandemic, where Miku shows the proper way to wash you hands during that time. Too bad it never was released as a full length instrumental and will catch many people by surprise. It's a must since you're doing ALL Band-Maid songs. Akane goes OFF!!! Not an "official" song but still, it's Band-Maid and only 0:56 sec ua-cam.com/video/R1TRdeM8SgA/v-deo.html
They also released a music score songbook along with the 'White Room' recordings. The express purpose of it all was to allow people to learn their songs more easily. there are many more 'White Room' recordings on the "Instrumental Maid" channel.
I hope they made enough of those songbooks for all the musicians who wanted them. :-) (I know if I played one of these instruments, I'd be trying to learn all these songs...)
If you have the DVD/BluRay you normally get a menu offering individual band member views or an EDIT view (the 2nd video is a typical edit view). I guess DICE had the individual views all on one screen (I don't have that particular one so don't know for sure).
Ah. I was honestly hoping to get one of these mythical Blurays because one of the CDs I ordered said it came with a bonus video disc, but alas, it did not come with a bonus disc. (But an earlier CD did come with a bonus video disc, when I wasn't expecting it to, so I guess it evens out.)
Most of these "Karaoke Style" Instrumentals are excellent versions of the song. Some of them I prefer Saiki's Vocal versions, some are just as good either way. You can't go wrong with BAND-MAID.
Oh, wow! I looked up the color あかね, and it is apparently called "madder" or "rose madder" in English. I'd never heard of it until you commented. Thank you.
If you want to see a perfect difference between with and without vocals. Check out the song "Giovanni". The white room video version (no vocals) sounds completely different than the version with vocals. Saiki's vocals sometimes covers up a lot of finer details.

Good point! I think that's another thing I like about these -- that the camera lingers on each member long enough to see what's going on. :-)
Miku has become one hell of a rhythm guitarist.
She's very impressive! :-)
If I was running this show, Saiki would be in the background sitting at a nice table sipping tea and reading a book.

Band-Maid Prime, worth every penny. Hell, I think it's worth it just to see the "Akane's Omajinai Time" video, which is freakin' hilarious!
I absolutely adore the Band-Maid instrumental versions of their songs! I mean ya of course, I feel guilty about liking them without Saiki, and when any of the ladies sing, either solely or in harmony, I totally love them, so I'm always conflicted hahaha!

Yes, I agree that Saiki's sound is what "completes" Band-Maid's sound. They are amazing without her, but less uniquely THIS group. :-)

I love SAIKI's camera work on these instrumentals !!!!🕊🍌🍻☕....... 🎥

Good catch on the guitar strap! I too thought it looked like a name tag, but for some reason didn't even consider it was part of the guitar strap. :-)

Studio Dice has my favorite Kanami guitar tone, too. It sounds like she's playing a damn chainsaw when she's doing her slide ins.
Yes, "chainsaw" is about the closest audio analogy I can think of. It feels like the term "shred" must have come from something like this sound. :-)
9:07 Hear that high screech? I always thought that was Miku hitting a high vocal note, but here I can tell it's Kanami 😮
I didn't hear a screech, but that's the "third guitar" that I kept mentioning. :-)
White Rooms🤤 There are 9 of them in total. Each has 5 versions.
Cool! Maybe someday I'll get to see all of them. :-)

Can't wait to get to that one. :-)
I think Saiki loves to have some spare time to watch Baseball
Someone's got to keep up with the Tigers, right?
