The entertaining thing about the Liz Truss government is just how bad they were at being Conservative politicians. The party has spent decades and decades wrecking Britain, but they have normally been very skillful about making bungs to their voters look like sensible fiscal policy and at least keeping up a degree of pretence at economic moderation at least to satisfy the bond market. Truss didn't seem to even recognise the need to keep their voters or markets sweet and announced numerous policies that were obviously (even to most of her MPs) going to go down like a lead balloon, even with their normally loyal voters, let alone waverers. And even after weeks of trouble, they continued to plough into uncessary battles with just about everyone. This lead to an obvious open goal which Labour took with good political skill - choosing just the right issue (fracking) to cause the rows in the Tory party to come to a head and for Truss to be dispatched. Fun to watch, but I'm sure going to be paying for it through my mortgage and energy bills...

The Conservatives' only chance is Rishi becoming PM with Hunt staying as Chancellor. Rishi is the only person with the personal brand strength to come anywhere close to improving the Tories' brand after so much damage has been done - and it'll need to be an almost flawless tenure. The reality is, Government isn't meant to have so many years of one party leadership. Things are meant to go in a circle of Tories' austerity, public spending cuts, and loosening regulations, followed by; Labour increasing public spending and tightening private sector regulation. And around we go in a nice little middle ground, in some form of balance. Too much time in government is bad for everyone and breeds complacency and arrogance, as we are seeing.

I don't think there is anyway to improve the Tories Brand. It's kind of like a catch-22. To fix the economy, massive spending cuts required including cuts in spending for social services. That will go bad with the votes. The other option, increase borrowing. It will probably increase interest rates and make cost of living worse. Will also not go down well with the common voters.

Or maybe Western Europeans countries like France, Germany should take advantage of the situation and try to attract investments out of UK into their own economies. If I were an investor, I would be more confident in doing business in France, Germany, the Netherlands even in these uncertain times

You keep saying that the next prime minister will not have a popular mandate. But in the british system NO priminister ever does.
UK citizen vote for their local parlament representative.
The leader of the party who has most MP is made prime minister, but that is not on the ballot.
