One of the things I love about Monster Hunter World is that your hunter's mannerisms sorta change as time goes on. They become less cautious and more badass. By the time Iceborne comes around your hunter barely even reacts to monsters and just stares them down like "Yeah, I can take ‘em." Also Kit, you in fact pronounced each and every name wrong. I am not joking.

4:03 hunters didn't speak until the monster hunter rise. I think that's why the girl (handler) was introduced, so you can have some actual dialogue going on in a more cinematic and story focused game.
Edit: as for the basic lore of monster hunter. There are these guys called hunters (your character and pretty much anyone with a big weapon) and they hunt monsters and are part of the Quild. Usually the hunting happens because certain monsters are causing some kind of a ruckus, be it threatening your village, cause disturbances in ecology, some kid thought a skull of a barioth would look neat. MH:World specifically focuses on research off a new island, or new world, if you will. Iceborne is after world and is first set in motion when Legiana start to migrate to a new place, which is the snow place in the video.
Now, as for not story stuff, the monsters are basically just animals. Most of them are classified as some type of a wyvern (even though half don't really fit the classic description of a wyvern), fanged beasts or one really specific case of Gore Magala. Then there is the elder dragons, this is a category of monsters that the people of monster hunter can't really explain. While a lot lesser monsters do wield elements like fire and thunder, the Quild can explain these things naturally. But, elder dragons haven't been able to be researched, due to their rarity and general nonsensical nature of their existence. This is why there's an unicorn and other not really traditional western dragons in this class, and is also the reason why gore magala really should be an elder dragon (fight me lore nerds, you know I'm right).
There's also this another race of people called wyverians. They're mostly like normal people, but instead have elf ears, three fingers and digitagrade feet. Also they were the original hunters, but decided to become nerds, also they live longer than humans. They're the source of the spiritual/mystical parts of the games.
Edit edit: there's this side series called monster hunter stories and in that series people called 'riders' are introduced, these guys are less focused on hunting monsters and are doing more of a pokemon type of thing. Riders can obviously ride their monsties (yes, that's what they call them. I think they're supposed to be younger versions of the actual monsters), and are focused on making bonds with them. Canonicity is dubious.

    • @DissedRedEngie
      @DissedRedEngie Рік тому +1

As for how people can exist in this world, the game series is all about the absurd. Mere humans can swing swords impossible to swing without mechanical tools, you can grill in the middle of a fight, a fire ball annihilating everything in it's path just makes your character faint and get rolled to the nearest camp by a bunch of cats. You don't really want to think the actual logistics, embrace the absurd and join us in our path to hunt ever stronger monsters.

    • @DarkButz
      @DarkButz Рік тому +2

@@DissedRedEngie It's been also explained that the humans in the MH universe are descendants of genetically modified super soldiers, created by the Ancient Civilization specifically to fight Elder Dragons. That's why they can wield those huge weapons with ease, jump from insane heights and survive all those attacks.
Which also kinda explains how and why the Hunters eat so much and so often.

Best way I’ve heard someone describe the nature of Monster Hunter is “Cave Punk.”
As for character, you’re kind of a combination local park ranger/pest control guy/gall they call a Monster Hunter.
You defend civilization. Keep trade routes open, bail out people in need of help and introduce offending creatures to your gigantic weapons and your carving knife.
Carve up monsters, make weapons and armor from their bones, hides and scales, and hunt bigger, cooler monsters. You also work as an ecologist, tracking down monsters and stepping in when invasive monsters step in and start screwing up the ecosystem.
And that’s…pretty much the entry point for lore. There’s more with regards to living natural disasters, rumors of lost civilizations, the fact that there are cats that cook food for you…
But these are stories for another day. ^_^

  • @stalhein62
    @stalhein62 Рік тому +58

    Proper lore explanation? Here goes...
A long time ago there was a technologically advanced civilisation that enslaved and slaughtered all forms of monsters. They even did this to the powerful elder dragons, beings rarely seen and often only rumoured, which are generally considered to be walking disasters on the scale of a volcano or earthquake. They used the pieces of monsters as resources for technology and even for buildings, and some of this technology survives in the form of incredibly advanced weapons. One day, one particularly nasty elder dragon destroyed that entire civilisation.
Let me rephrase that - one particularly nasty dragon destroyed that entire civilisation in one day.
A long time after that, we're where the games take place. Among the rebuilt civilisations is an overriding sense of being at balance with nature, instead of trying to control it. The World game (and the Iceborne DLC for it) take place on a mostly unexplored new continent far to the west of where the rest of the series has been set, so while there are monsters that are native to both there are also new ones, as well as variants that have evolved differently. You, as part of the fifth expeditionary fleet, are here to uncover mysteries and research nature.
And if you happen to capture lots of ethnically sourced dinosaurs to make codpieces out of their hide, well, that's just how colonisation goes sometimes.
EDIT: not only does the little cat (they're called Palicos) follow you into battle - you can customise it.

Fatalis destroyed the castle, not the civilization.

Also the monsters are separated into two types Wyverns, the basic monsters (banbaro, barioth, beotodus, bazelgeuss...etc) then there is the elder dragons (Velkhana, nergigante). The elder dragons are the ones supposed control the weather.
You also have variants of monsters, the viper looking copper flying squirrel (Viper tobi kadachi), the flying purple mouse balloon (Nightshade Paolumu), the pinkish monster which spewed poison from its tail (coral Pukei pukei), all of them are suped up versions of base monsters.
The story so far that brought them to the new continent was a Huge Elder Dragon (Zorah Magdaros 257 meters tall) that they were tracking of which left the main land and headed straight to the new continent for unknown reasons. There was a group already sent to the new world called the first fleet of which was backed up by the 2nd to fourth. You were apart of the fifth fleet. Monstyer hunter world is about figuring out and stopping zorah magdaros from getting to its destination as well as the outcome from doing so. Iceborne has you looking into the cold region of the continent of which has different variants and monsters who are native to the region.

    • @darkrai2007
      @darkrai2007 Рік тому +2

Also in this universe there are also riders, people who grew up bonding with newly hatched versions of the monsters (called monsties) and fight side by side with them. Monsties are wyverns and elder dragons and because they bond with them they try to live in tune with the monsters and usually despise hunters. These are technically canon but is set on a continent far away from the usual monster hunters, you can usually see why. If you love the monsters from world/iceborne, I highly recommend that you play Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of ruin, it's mechanics are different more turn based than hack and slash, but it's very much worth it to play.

11:10 The giant monsters ARE the norm, BUT, the dragon you saw there is something called an Elder Dragon. Elder Dragons are living disasters, comparable to a volcano or an entire earthquake. For example, Teostra, an Elder Dragon of fire, is said to passively emit enough heat to glass an entire desert overnight.
So Elder Dragons and monsters above even that class, are considered basically as demi-gods, or outright divine beings when it comes to Black Dragons.

While being an incredibly interesting world, MH doesn't really have that much in terms of lore. Basically it revolves around humans and an elf-like race called Wyverians. Together, using knowledge and technology from a previous extinct civilization, Hunters are tasked with conserving and protecting the ecosystem and any threats posed to it. It's not about wiping them out, more about taking down imminent threats and investigating strange occurrences. The premise in pretty much all the games is local monsters are going crazy for some unknown reason, you take down these monsters while investigating the cause. Eventually it ends with finding out the existence of an Elder Dragon (not necessarily a "Dragon", it's just a designation.), which are monsters that have an incredible amount of power and generally cause devastation anywhere they go. Some are just walking natural disasters.
Monsters overall are very well designed and the dev team takes inspiration from many real animals and their behaviors/characteristics. Over the 20 MH has been around they've built an incredible roster of monsters that we get to see return from time to time in future titles.
That's pretty much it. The fights can be extremely challenging, and the combat takes getting used to, but it's an extremely satisfying experience when you learn how to use the tools at your disposal. Combat is varied and none of the 14 weapons feel the same. Easily my favorite franchise of all time.

The overall gist of the monster hunter world is that humanity is not in the same spot as in our world, we are not the absolute top of the food chain in MH. Thanks to all the fire breathing mega fauna around human settlements are rather small and scattered, a few big citys do exist but they are set up around important travel hubs, are far from the norm and are usually highly fortified. A big city takes a lot of farmland for example, try having a lot of farmland when there might be anual migrations of train sized moose t-rexes.
Humanity itself tho is kind of living in a semi utopian society, it's generally understood that humans will help each other to survive and war isn't really an issue, cause the last thing you wanna do if you have a big territorial bull dragon next to your village is cause a big ruckus. There are also other intelligent species that coexist with humanity like the elf like wyverians and the bipedal cat like linians. Overall, everyone tries their best to just live and help each other cause the world demands it.
As for the monsters, honestly think of them more as just very big animals. They are not malicious or anything, but if your to busy collecting berrys to notice the hungry lion the size of a monster truck then yeah .....you better keep your eyes open.
Then there are the elder dragons. They range in intelligence from regular animal to almost human and there have been some that are outright malicious, wich is bad cause they are also basically walking natural desasters that can level citys by themselves. They usually stay away from humanity out of a kind of mutual respect, but if something upsets the balance of their habitat they will take action. One time there was a human civilisation that hunted all the monsters it could almost to extinction, one particularly scary elder dragon really took issue with that and dissappeared them literally over the span of a night.
That brings us to our last part of the world, the hunters guild. The hunters guild trains people to fight these monsters, researches them as to be better prepared and acts as a connecting information network between all the human settlements or sometimes micro nations. They then dispatch their hunters to those settlements as need be. So if a T-rex with a broadsword for a tail has decided to make it's nest a little to close to your neighbourhood, you call in the hunters and they take care of it. But it needs to be said that humanity does generally live in a fairly harmonious balance with their enviroments, a large part of that is thanks to the hunters guild. They will make sure not to overhunt large monsters or upset the natural balance in a given habitat. Remember that upsetting the balance of an ecosystem can have grave consequences in our world, now imagine each of the toads that have overrun australia weighs 10 tons and breaths acid and you can kinda imagine how enviromentalism becomes sort of an immediate neccesity.
So thats the overall world of monster hunter without going into the story of any game particular (honestly tho the story is not why you play and sorta rudimentary). We are not the dominant species but we make due thanks to the realisation that fighting each other while also having to regularly fight of living freight trains is not a good idea, so cooperation is the name of the game enviromentalism is very much a given and sometimes you just get eaten by a dragon, c'est la vie.

Monster Hunter is really a game i started to love after struggle at the beginning. First you have to learn that the Story doesnt matter, the characters dont matter - what Matters? Smashing every Monster 600 times in the ground like it owe you money. Its a game only with Boss monsters, every enemie can whip you out in seconds if you take it to light. It is a game designed around the fight, with good combat system and crafting the hell out of monster material. its so awesome, because you struggle the first times against a new monster. You fail, you learn and later in the game you laugh about the most monsters and crush them in minutes. The Monsters are the real stars, the monster vs. monster fights are awesome, the world seems alive with a real biosphere.
I never found a game that has so many different weapons that all play different with different combat styles, that uses every inch on the battlefield for strategic combat, you can lay traps, bombs, lure them under rocks.
Play this game, its fun. Dont be scared, many of the Monsters at the End are FAR laterin the game. The progress is slow and you get weaker Monsters out, learn the mechanics. This intros are realgame videos, mostly you learn about the next Monster so you dont be unprepared for the fight. You dont fight it at the first time mostly, the intros are for the first step to create tension and scare you. Most first fights are the hardest because you dont know all their moves and your gear is weak, after the fight you can create better weapons/armor or farm for it again(you slay this monsters more then one time). Also Multiplayer you can get help from other players, they help Newbies everytime.
Also Cats make you awesome Food 11/10

    Context:
You are a hunter for the Research Commission, whose job it is to study the ecosystem of an island called the New World, and why Elder Dragons (the most powerful and dangerous monsters) are migrating there en masse.
Beotodus: "A piscine wyvern that uses the sharp fin on its head to cut through the frozen soil, swimming freely through the snow. Can often be seen hurling snow at its prey using its leg fins."
Banbaro: "A monster with two giant horns, like a running brick wall. It charges at threats while digging its massive horns in the ground, sometimes picking up entire trees along the way."
Viper Tobi-Kadachi: "The tail of this subspecies secretes a toxin while its fangs paralyze prey. It can also glide without climbing trees."
Nightshade Paolumu: "A Paolumu subspecies capable of putting prey to sleep. It produces a powerful sedative gas stored within its throat sack that it can expel and scatter to knock unwary foes out."
Coral Pukei-Pukei: "A bird wyvern that stockpiles water inside its body, fortified by the plant life it consumes. When threatened it can expel a powerful stream from its mouth or tail."
Barioth: "The snow-white flying wyvern with huge tusks found in the frozen tundra. It uses its forelegs and tail to traverse ice with ease."
Velkhana: "An elder dragon with the power to freeze all in its path. According to legend, it can control the cold, and use its freezing breath to conjure massive spires of ice out of nowhere."
Nargacuga: "A flying wyvern covered in pitch black fur. It is extremely agile, especially on the ground, moving with explosive bursts of speed."
Glavenus: "A brute wyvern that wields its heavy blue tail like a blade. It grows hotter and more keen with each strike until it glows red."
Tigrex: "A flying wyvern straight out of prehistory, known for its deafening roar and powerful legs that drive its overwhelming charge."
Brachydios: "This marine-blue brute wyvern uses its saliva to prime the sticky slime coating its massive arms, rendering it highly explosive."
Velkhana again. This is when you fight it for the first time, but you can only drive it away temporarily.
Shrieking Legiana: "A Legiana variant shrouded in white frost. It specializes in freezing prey with the powerful chill it emits,
then swooping down to strike at them from overhead."
Acidic Glavenus: "A new subspecies to the ferocious Glavenus, the Acidic Glavenus features a sulphur covered tail. Found only in the rotting areas of the New World, a corrosive fluid has crystallized on its tail, spraying acid with each swing that can apply a debuff to those that get caught in it."
Ebony Odogaron: "This Odogaron subspecies is forever on the prowl for its next meal, and is often seen carrying fresh kills in its mouth. Reports indicate it goes into a frenzy upon eating."
Velkhana again again. This is the fight where you finally slay it.
Seething Bazelgeuse: "The scales of this Bazelgeuse variant burn hotter than normal increasing in number and explosion radius as time passes."
Blackveil Vaal Hazak: "A Vaal Hazak variant encrusted with spores that spew a torrent of toxic effluvium at any who draw close."
Namielle (my personal favorite lol): "An elder dragon said to be able to command water and use it as a shield. Though very few sightings have ever been reported, they mention 'exploding water' and 'bright glowing lights.' Its existence remains shrouded in mystery."
Shara Ishvalda: "A mysterious elder dragon able to manipulate the earth itself. Vibrations from its wingtips reshape the earth, denying hunters footing."
Ruiner Nergigante: "Countless battles have only hardened this Nergigante variant. In addition to healing, its spikes grow tougher as it loses health."
Zinogre: "Lightning courses through the fur and unique plating of this fanged wyvern. It is most deadly in its supercharged state."
This cutscene takes place in a newly-discovered area called the Guiding Lands. The purpose of this cutscene is to show how monsters that shouldn't logically be able to coexist like this somehow appear in the same locale.
Yian Garuga: "A short-tempered bird wyvern marked by its hard, black scales and impressive mane. It strikes with its distinctive beak."

Well, lore : there was an ancient civilisation techologicaly advanced, until some incredibely powerful monsters appeared ( they have always existed ).
Humans' weapons were not strong enough, their civilisation was destroyed, and they all returned to the stone-age, and your role as a hunter, in most of the games ( not World Iceborne ) is to defend your village or the city where the Guild sent you, so non-hunters are not killed and their city destroyed by monsters.
In Iceborne, you are a hunter hired to participate to an expedition, following the migration of multiple monsters to an unknown place ( which is the new continent your hunter is located in the story ).
You arrive 50 years after the first expedition, you belong to the 5th company and to a group of much younger hunters than those present on the continent for 50 years, and you're expected to be the last and finally discover what brings monsters here.
This is the synopsis of the game, it's said like 2 seconds after you started the gale

So basically... There once was a super advanced civilization basically doing what modern humanity is doing to the earth. Except they had giant monsters. Well the more intelligent monsters basically did Emu War 2 Electric boogaloo and now the ancient civilization is gone, and humanity and "elves" now need to live in harmony with the ecosystems lest they end up feeling that wrath of mother nature. The Mute Main Character changes between games but generally, they are a supersoldier trained by The Guild to be what amounts to the ecosystems peacekeepers. They hunt down monsters which threaten the balance, keep certain populations in check to promote you know natural state of the world and such. In World, they've found a new continent due to some monsters deciding to once every 10 years to travel to said new continent to die off there. You, the main character, are a hunter, the previously mentioned super soldiers, and are a part of the 5th fleet to the new world. You get there with slight issues, and the game basically starts from there. You hunt monsters to A. Keep the ecosystem stable, B. To craft new gear from said monsters so that the next threat won't splatter you like a jam, and C. To find out about the big mystery of why monsters travel to a new continent once a decade to die off there. This all happens in the base game of Monster Hunter World. You figure out the mystery, get the credits and then go back to the regular gameplay aka farming monsters to Make yourself a better looking set. Once you get Iceborne, there is a new threat to the ecosystem and you have to figure that out. And from that we start out the Iceborne DLC. Some monsters from older games make appearances, like Nargacuga, Brachydios, Tigrex, Glavenus, Barioth, and some monsters introduced in World get a different variation.

Monster hunter is a world that is different from ours that have special monsters known as wyvern‘s in the category bases on the wyvern like there’s brute wyvern‘s, A flying wyvern‘s, Fish wyvern‘s, and fanged wyvern‘s. And then there’s a subcategory of monsters called fang beast. There’s also another class but these are more powerful than wyvern‘s they’re called elder dragons which have been around since before time and have the property destroy countries and have the ability to control the elements so they had to make the hunters guild so they can keep these monsters at bay. And there’s also different types of weapons like a long sword, Great sword, hammer, charge blade, switch axe, dual blades, hunting horn, bow, heavy Bow gun, and light Bow gun. You also have a cat that’s called a Palaco which is an indigenous species to the monster hunter universe which can talk but they speak in cat puns. And there’s also the elders which have been around for thousand years and know the elder dragons. Also some answers also have status effects like sleep and blast. So the hunters use this to their advantage it and hunt a monster so they can make armor and weapons out of them which greatly increases their ability of hunting even further that’s all I know about the game hope we use this information well.

They asked the dragons and wishes for them to answer. The dragons opens their moth but instead of words a huge amount of water flows every where ocean and sky starts to form, then all of them swim to the center of the ocean.the first dragon drowned and becomes the land the second dragon look up into the sky and turns into mountains the third dragon bow down then becomes the rivers the fourth dragon sleep and turns into forests the last dragon fly up high then turn to stars shining on that world. People starts to wonder why the dragons left them.Years later a young boy decided to set-sail to the island that the dragons have created by himself with a puny boat and stars to lead his way, days have passed the boy returned to the empty world people swarmed him and ask many questions about the dragons but the boy keep quiet and gave 5 dragon scales to the people, the boy was never seen again. People move out from the empty world and use the scales to create islands for them to live in but for the last scale they use them to create the moon so the stars will never shine alone again. The land grew bigger until it blocks the sun born to day and night time. Mountains , forests and rivers breath together to create seasons when the moon shines into the ocean waves are created and that is for time to began unfortunately as time began people have experienced death but they have also have learnt what life is years and years have passed people forget what has happened and no one can tell what and how the world is created, but all of the people knows that in the center of the ocean there is an island of the dragons that time does not exist in that island.

The main job of hunters, is to research monsters, and kill or capture monsters for scientists to dissect and research (elder dragons are immune to capture due to their power).
The quests hunters can take on, range from: The cephalopod elder dragon Nakarkos attacks a town, and devours every resident it could find. The only survivor, and the guild request you kill the elder dragon before it can cause more destruction.
To: a mom requests you kill 15 ludroth, because her son keeps peeing the bed, and she needs their spongy manes to clean up the mess.

Kit, no. Stop. Play this game, don't just react to it. Heck, you could play the game with the Chicago React crew too if you guys want. It's a whole lot of fun, man.
21:26 Not just that. The context of these videos happen after you complete the base game of Monster Hunter World. You see, "Iceborne" is the Expansion Pack / DLC of the game. So, the new monsters (the ones they show their names) you react to over here are the newcomers from the DLC.
26:22 In the original series, it's assumed that there are only a few cities left in each human civilization (or whatever that is left of the human civilizations). And the rest are mere villages. Monster Hunters are assigned to these villages to take down monsters that go berserk and on their way towards these human settlements. Cities have their own city battalions and Monster Hunter Guilds. So, monsters usually aren't a threat to the city dwellers, only to villagers. Well, that is until the Elder Dragons (essentially calamities and natural disasters in monster form) appear... And hence, no. Humans don't really thrive as much as they'd like - they just survive. Monster Hunters risk their lives to stop the monsters from approaching the settlements so humanity can, well, survive.
37:36 Yes, the cat helps out. That cat is our partner. Well. Okay. No. We are this cat's partner. Because while we only are allowed 4 KOs, this little buddy here has infinite respawn...so while people think we, the players, are the protagonist, I believe this cat is actually the real protagonist and true hero in this game.
46:41 Yes and no. Usually you face only one big monster. But there are times monsters would meet when their turfs crossed. But it's no biggie. Because the monsters often just fight everyone in the area. So, they can be your ally too, if you learn how to dodge their bites, claws, slashes, various kinds of elemental blasts and etc... But hey, that's the thrill of the hunt. wink
So, here you go, Kit. My paragraphs. Enjoy.

First off, recommendation. Rage Gaming channel, the “Pro and Noob” series where a MH veteran shows his newbie friend the ropes. 🤔 For SOME reason, I want to recommend the Pro and Noob video on the Seething Bazelgeuse. (It’s the one titled “Fear the Living Nuke”)
Other than that, I also recommend the “Monster Match Up” series by PapaGabe. Memes and short summaries of various monsters from Monster Hunter World, though due to fatherhood and other factors, those videos are incomplete.
Lorewise, going from stuff I’ve heard from friends, is that there was an ancient civilization which used many monsters for labor/power sources/etc, and eventually the civilization collapsed. Most hunters are distant descendants from that ancient civ’s “super soldier” program which is why the hunters can be COMPLETELY bullshit with the amount of damage they can take, their great strength and athleticism, etc. In the MH series, you’re basically surviving in eco-systems which have these critters running around, but sometimes the ecosystem gets screwed up because a POWERFUL one has shown up and disrupted things.
Generally speaking, most monsters are called “Wyverns” while the ones which are walking natural disasters, the eco-system disrupters, are called Dragons or Elder Dragons. Some powerful monsters don’t really fit into either classification, but they’re…unique. Rajang the Monkey is one, because he’s not a wyvern or dragon, but he gets his kicks by punching elder dragon’s in the face and eating the horns of one particular elder dragon named Kirin, which is an angry lightning-controlling unicorn. (AKA a Thorse).
Advice from a veteran player, for when you get into the game, about a subject that I didn’t learn about until MUCH later; Elemental Defense.
Some monsters have elemental attacks. Your armors boost raw defense, and will either boost or lower elemental defenses. Kirin armor, for example, gives you better protection against lightning, but will make you weaker against fire, ice, and water element attacks. What I was told EARLY on is that elemental attacks can cause negative status effects called “Blights” (Fire damage can cause “fire blight” AKA set you on fire, and you need to roll around a few times/into water to put the fire out) UNLESS you are wearing armor and accessories which boost your elemental defense to a MINIMUM of 20. Then you’re immune to the blight of that specific element.
What I learned MUCH later, which was very helpful, is that elemental defenses on armor are a % damage reduction to that elemental attack, (before it gets reduced even more by your armor’s raw defense stat) OR how much would get added to the attack. Kirin drops a lightning bolt on you when you’ve got 20 lightning defense, you’re only taking 80% of the damage, and you will not get “lightning blight”. (which makes it VERY easy for monster attacks to stun you…my least favorite blight). If you’re wearing armor that had -20 lightning defense, Kirin is going to do 120% damage to you. And you’re TECHNICALLY going to be immune to lightning blight then as well, but only because you’ll be f-king *dead* for being dumb enough to pick a fight with Thorse when you were weak to his specific element.
So, recommendation for watching. Small bit of lore. And advice for when you play the game; 20 elemental defense to be immune to elemental-specific debuffs, and the elemental defense number is what percent an elemental attack will be weakened OR strengthened by when it hits you.

Basically the giant two-legged animals (Brute Wyverns), the Flying Wyverns (dragons with wings and 2 legs), and all the other animals like Fanged Beasts (Mammals), giant spiders, amphibians, etc. are, more or less, natural animals here and have natural explanations for their abilities to breath fire or electricity or whatever. Elder Dragons are freaks of nature that don't confine to normal laws that everyone knows about (examples being have 6 limbs, being an animal that just doesn't exist in their world like Kirin, since MH doesn't seem to have horses, being very intelligent, or being really really big, and other reasons.). It'd be like if a guy from the Middle Ages went to South America or Australia for the first time and tried to describe a capybara or a kangaroo or a monitor lizard for the first time. Elder Dragons are essentially that.
