    Nice to see a better back mud guard , can’t see why most modern Trials bike s needs a mud guard pointing to the sky.

    Nice review! Cool riding footage.. Love my 2018 300RR but it's my 1st trials bike so nothing to compare it to yet. Glad to hear you feel the goods outweigh the bads 😉

    Nice to hear a review from a rider that really understands the bike... the water pump info says to me "this guy also is a good mechanic who dives deep to fix issues",,, I like that.
    Thankyou for a excellent review.
    So I'm here on a mission to find a trials bike I can dial in to do longer rides more enduroish for a tiny wife rider who is currently on a kx100...
    I'm exploring the idea of a trials bike for its lower stand over height and light weight with 18/21 inch wheels...
    And electric start. Would be very nice... is there such a beast??? I dunno but it's funn to learn what's out there.

      The trs makes the oneR model with electric start. Very smooth powerband vs the RR.
      Also entertain the idea of a montesa 260, four-stroke power is great for traction and ease of riding.

    The seal companies also sell a wear sleeve that can be press-fit onto the water pump shaft as another option to eliminate the wear track groove in the shaft. Your nitrile seal option is probably the easiest fix, but you still might see some shaft wear. Thanks for your video.

    • @slavcoworld
      @slavcoworld  Рік тому +1

      The bike developed a leak again. The shaft is showing micro wear.
      I have a hardened shaft on order. Will see how that works

    I adjusted my clutch by purchasing a narrower clutch "ring" which engages the clutch over a wider range. This was an easy fix. Combine that with a slow-turn throttle (black) it helped me. I also put a lower compression head on my 250. I couldn't tell much of a difference on this change, but I'm sure it's there.

    • @slavcoworld

    Nice video, fairly honest review. The TRS is the easiest starting bike by far. Was no need for the button. The power is electric and the balancing feels great when stopped. Very easy to work on except changing the air filter. The w.p. leak is not always the shaft, but has the tarnished brand still. Worst thing of the bike the weight bias is off. Way too light on the front, which causes it to skip or push even while totally balanced feet up. Just a vague feeling.

      @shawnmcginnis2508 Рік тому +1

      The front is light. Ofcourse potentially raising the forks or adding some preload on the rear would help transfer some weight forward. Overall it is a good bike, but TRS is IMHO the most agressive engine character of the modern bikes.

    Great Video , and nice to hear another opinion from a trials Rider , Just to point out something as regards the Clutch , The ON/OFF feeling is preferred by advanced trials Riders , The TRS ONE R has a slightly different Map and is not as aggressive as the RR so that might be a better ride for some Club level riders (map is less aggressive , Clutch Feel might be the same) , But If you see how Pro riders setup the clutch , Its not for the average rider , They make them super stiff and almost trigger finger precise ,, Some ride the bite point really far out also , I had one issue with a 2019 RR that was sorted by the importer and local TRS dealer at the time ,, Mine was not the impeller but simply the thermostat (cheap replacement part) replaced and since then its had 200 hours with no issues , I take care of the bike and change the oil and air filter regularly and keep it minty , Suspension from stock was not plush enough , (74KG Rider) went for the lighter spring for the fork and shock and now its the best handling bike Ive ridden , The 2017 Sherco 300 ST factory had a really nice clutch feel ,the 2016 Scorpa 300 Had A REALLY NICE CLUTCH FEEL , the 2018 Sherco 300 ST Factory had the WORST clutch feel on any bike I've ever ridden , probably aimed at really advanced riders OR not setup from factory to spec , You needed to be Superman to clutch it over a long trial or trail ride . Ive read in Forums that some people recommend using anti seize or copper grease on the chain adjusters on the rear swing arm as they can become seized due to where Trials Bikes live (Usually dusty or muddy or wet and dirty streams and rocks) also I've been informed if you DONT USE A PRESSURE WASHER ON THE LOWER LINKAGE and just service them as normal , you won't need to change the bearings for at least 2-3 years , I can say this is true , The only other MOD I made was to seal the Airbox with silicon around the seal where the lower and upper part of the Air box meet , Now it doesn't get any water or dirt / dust in there / , Oh one more thing , The Nuts that hold the handlebar clamps , THEY ARE SO TIGHT FROM FACTORY THAT YOU CAN ROUND OFF THE NUT EDGES , they are hard to get at with an open spanner and a closed spanner won't fit in , impact socket works but be careful , The Nut has a snap ring that holds it on the threads after its been torqued and its really hard to get off , try some anti seize spray before you remove the clamp holding nuts , mine needed new nut as I rounded one of them removing the bar clamps to fit a 5mm spacer to rise the bars. Still the best feeling and most aggressive bike on the Market IMO

      GR-Some great points I'm sure! But could you edit that and put it into paragraphs? So hard to read!
      It looks interesting, but it's just a huge mass of text with no subdivision of the points! Can you see my point? ;-)
      Yes, I'm a trials riding teacher. I liked your point that the pros like a super stiff clutch, and almost trigger finger precise. When I watch Toni Bou and co, I can see that now.
      Cool 30 hour review by the way.

    I had a 2020 TRS RR and I didn't like it. It felt like a poor quality design. I now have a 2022 Sherco factory and it all seems much nicer, like they actually ride the bikes they design. I had a coolant seal fail because a washer was missing from the water pump shaft! once I assembled in in the correct way it resolved the problem.

    My 2022 water pump seal sprang a leak after 7.5 hours, I was not too happy about that. I'm under the impression Viton is better for coolant than Nitrile, and doesn't really have anything to do with the temp issue. I will say I think my bike is pretty smooth feeling, but I came from a 2000 GG TXT.

    • @slavcoworld
      @slavcoworld  Рік тому +1

      I just noticed a leak again after putting in the nitrile gasket. The shaft did originally show a few microns wear.
      My next step is ordering a hardened shaft and pairing it with nitrile seal.
      I did see friend brand new scorpa spring a leak too after a few hours. There is something going on with these things!

    I will say the Vertigo is long, but I have not had any trouble out turning guys above my class on my Vertigo.
    I can't say I agree about the power. I feel like it is way more agressive then Vertigo, Scorpa,Beta or GasGas, with GasGas being the closest. TRS is like a rocket in the mid and top range.

    • @slavcoworld
      @slavcoworld  Рік тому +1

      Yes, mid range is strong on the trs, the bottom is more smoother.
      Not sure if you rode the gold or the rr. There are differences between them

    • @shawnmcginnis2508
      @shawnmcginnis2508 Рік тому +2

      @Slavco 21 Gold 250 , 20 one R 250, and 22 300RR. Lovely built bikes. Your Vertigo experience was on a pre 2020 bike right? I ride a 300 R2. The R series bikes used a spacer in the stator to reduce magnetic resistance and increase how fast the bike revs. They then add a flywheel weight to slow the bike back down to "normal" but with extra umph when the clutch is dropped. I could imagine if the Vertigo you rode was a non fww version it may of been a wee bit more aggressive down low. The R models despite being the bike Vertigo targets for more experienced riders is really a gentle giant.
      I had people ask, " really it's a 300? It felt like a 250 down low to me". That's why I love my Vertigo. It pulls so strong down low, but also so precise and so gentle. Having ridden almost all the major brands around the 2020 range +/- a year either way I can say not one of them matches the gentle smooth nature of my R2 down low. Some are smoother, but feel weak and unresponsive to achieve that. That's been my experience at least.
      Anyway good vid, and keep it up! Great to see more trials content on yt ! 🙂
