Probably not in short/medium terms because Capcom will be full focused in SF6 for a time and SNK with be already full at hands with KOF XV support and Garou 2, but in long sure will happen at some form
Garou 2 was right up there with Mother 64 as lost games I wished I could've played growing up, it was undoubtly one of the most tragic cancellations in fighting game history. So imagine my surprise when I found out GAROU 2 IS HAPPENING AND THE SECOND SOUTH TOWN GANG IS BACK, LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOO.
Beyond hyped Kim and Shingo were announced here and should be early picks for s02. The former being one of my go to mains and the latter for always being a fun character.
Shingo was easily the highlight reveal for me. Dude's been relatable ever since I first played him, and now I have a reason to pick up KoF XV. HELL YEAH!!
All released dlc characters were just pure eye candy to keep the audience riled up so the design team could finally focus on completing their one true goal: giving Kim's pants the 3d justice it deserves
I've watched that Garou teaser reaction like 2 dozen times now and it still makes me crack up. It has such a beautiful arc to it. Starts with slight confusion, goes to full-on bewilderment with a tinge of anticipation at the hungry wolves line, turns to shock at seeing Rock, then a little bit of doubt sets in, and finally the sequel confirmation just makes him revert to a primal caveman shrieking in excitement due to hype overdose. It's sublime.

Falcoon, the executive producer for this one for the first time, was asked to do alternate designs for characters that should appear like they were original characters, basically he was forced to stretch his artistic lengths for alternate costumes besides simple recolours. And because he had issues in the long run there have been like references to other games, movies or even animes for quite some costumes, which I think adds alot to the charm of that game! Also who likes Luise for her chest? From what I get, thje whole mystical being/aura presence of her alongside her slick dark butterfly design is what people draw on her. If you wanna call out someone to like a character for their chestsizes it's people being thirsty for Lien Neville or Mai Shiranui. Also suprisingly there are quite some folks who ask for a KoFMI2 continuation, maybe with less "Falcoon is doing all the work designwise" approach and more of a "we streamline what we got already and continue the arc of Alba, Soiree and Luise alongside Duke's in another series" tackle. Also cuz Maximum Impact 3 back then was in development but was canceled because SNK needed staff to work on KoF12 before that became KoF13 later down. If you know the story on KoF13 then you understand why it's the way it is and what had to be sacrificed for it, with sadly too little fanfare with how much cost was put in for that game.

Also suprisingly there are quite some folks who ask for a KoFMI2 continuation, maybe with less "Falcoon is doing all the work designwise" approach and more of a "we streamline what we got already and continue the arc of Alba, Soiree and Luise alongside Duke's in another series" tackle. Also cuz Maximum Impact 3 back then was in development but was canceled because SNK needed staff to work on KoF12 before that became KoF13 later down. If you know the story on KoF13 then you understand why it's the way it is and what had to be sacrificed for it, with sadly too little fanfare with how much cost was put in for that game.

They’ve already confirmed all characters for S2 has been decided. They just won’t announce them yet.
