Especially when one gets the context. For the whole song, the man tries to get to his loved one, the woman who was the rape victim. For the entire piece, he begs her "Don't leave me", meaning... he wants her to be like she used to be... before the tragic event. Finally, when her state is too much for him, he cannot deal with the situation anymore and leaves her and at the very end, she finally says to him "Don't leave me now..." when it seems it's already too late for both of them...

I still love how 4:46-5:57 sounds like something straight from Awake. Even LaBrie's vocals sound like they're from that era. Man, they struck gold with Distance of Time. I didn't hate The Astonishing at all but Distance Over Time is one of their all-time best albums.
@@zedddddful I don't really agree, I think The Astonishing was a highly ambitious album with great potential that suffered from too many pointless and weak tracks that broke up the flow in order to inflate its runtime. Trim the fat and it becomes a fantastic rock opera, IMO.

Beautiful guitar solo, it gives me goosebumps every time! It’s one of his finest solos on my opinion! The outro on Ministry Of Lost Souls pt 2 does the same ❤️
4:44 is where my favourite part starts from. Although not very fast and technical, the solo somehow brought tears to my eyes. It’s so emotional and melodious. Truly love it, and I hope that it’d be a full solo but not fading out at the end...

Sleepless, worse for wear, staring at the ceiling
Numb, sedated, intoxicated
Deafening, deafening
Shut it out, shut it out
