So much to learn about big catfish fishing. I thought a simple Carolina rig would do the trick. Never thought about a 3 way swivel with the clip on one end to change out weights fast. Might try that someday.

Yesterday I stumbled across a youtube fisherman I had not seen before and I liked his take on the boat maintenance matter. His take was that "spring maintenance" should be done in the fall before the weather turns. The idea being that you take care of the steering, water separator, and such before any water in there from the last year has a chance to freeze and cause you more problems. It made sense to me.

On your fuel,we have Marathon stations here,they carry a recreational fuel that is non ethanol, if you have any in your area check them out to see if they have it..
(Actually they are the only one I know that have the fuel)...

I'm a cheap-o when it comes to wanting to catch big catfish. I've been using a Zebco 404 for many years to catch cats under 20 lbs. I haven't caught anything over that yet. Would a Zebco 888 reel be alright for catching catfish over 30 lbs?
In my opinion, yes it would, a lot of people would argue with me in that but if you use the drag right I think you would be just fine. It might not last for years and years catching 50# fish but an occasional big fish I think you would be ok. Thanks for watching and good luck.

Why don't you use clickers is one way better are just preference....I've all ways just used my carp set up for cats 2 hooks with slide sinker and clickers...But im gonna try your set up..
Most of the waters that I fish have to much current to use a clicker. The current will simply pull line off of the reel. I also prefer to lock down the reel since I like to use circle hooks. So basically just preference. Thank you for watching.

Hagen your tangling with catfish rods I noticed had blue handles not the cork handles. Did you get them that way or did you modify them , they look really good?
It is just blue shrink wrap that I got from amazon. It is the biggest size that I could find. Feels really good.
