- We got to visit the best collection of Japanese koi fish on the United States East Coast and one of the best in the United States. We were fortunate enough to get a Sanke for our personal collection. Take a peek at the fish and filtration used to keep the perfect conditions.

Those fish we’re definitely an amazing collection. Some of them were the very ones which to Reserve Grand Champion and Grand Champion at the Kentucky Koi Show last month!

I love looking at other peoples ponds and set ups. Gives you great ideas as to what changes or additions you would like to make.
I am adding to my filtration next year..Just barrel filters.. Guess I will be rewatching one of yours.
I won't be using k1.. Just a vortex to separate solids than a filter pad barrel before going to a finishing large box filter.

thats not a koi...its a whale....stunning fish and set up..probably costs more than both the cars we have
There were definitely some whale sized fish in there!
I’m not positive on the price of the set, but you may be right. I will say, it’s absolutely doing it’s job. Everyone in there was so healthy.
Hey Cape fear koi 👋 this morning I went to look at my fish in my pond and I noticed something very unexpected and strange. One of my shubinkin fish was missing the top part of its mouth. It seems like it wasn’t able to eat anything either since it only has its lower lip left :( I was wondering if you ever have experienced anything like that?
Sounds like anaerobic bacteria and commonly known as mouth rot. If you can place and treat for bacteria, that would be ideal or treat the entire pond. When the temps get cool, we reach dangerous temperatures known as
aeromona alley.

@@Vanix_MM2 if you need something quickly and can’t wait for shipping, Imagintarium makes a decent product from the pet store which I have seen work on fish from others. Overall sounds advanced and will probably need treatment sooner than later.
