Thanks my friend! Being in the coast, we can get dumped on at times and always have to be prepared. Often, 10 miles inland doesn’t get a drop. One of the unfortunate times.
Hello Margaret, We typically put in 1 cup of baking soda per 1,000 gallons. We add a little at a time to monitor change and reduce stress as much as possible.
Thank u so much I'm trying to learn so much from u and others because I love my koi so much. Right now I'm dealing with String algae I pulled a lot of it off but it's making my water really nasty. I put my UV light on and filtering it as best I can until I get my big filter going.
@@margaretcavender1886 you’re very welcome! The uv won’t do anything to the string algae because it is anchored to a surface and the uv only works on algae which is suspended in your water and they are actually 2 different types of algae. String algae is typically a cooler weather issue and dissipates once water warms up. If you cut back on feeding, the fish often graze it down and it’s typically doing you a favor because it is living in excess nutrients in the water which can harm fish!! A toilet brush does a good job removing and let your filter pick up loose debris afterwards. String algae is a winter plague for many but it will go away. Some add algicide or salt but many also lose their fish that way, so it’s not always recommended. It may take a few attempts of several methods until you find out what works best for your situation.
@@CapeFearKoi thank u again I'll leave it be then I really don't like putting Chemicals in my pond anyway. I'm really learning a lot from u lol. I love watching ur videos.
Thanks Chris! One thing I use to guide and anticipate their actions is to watch their nose to which direction they are pointing in and attempting to head towards. My mentor told me that and it works! I think of him every time I catch fish and hear his words in my head. 😆
😂 it was definitely a moment to remember and now forever on film. 😳 It really was a shame about the fish. It was going to make a great addition for someone. It was already a friendly fish and had good body conformation early on. We always appreciate you stopping by!
@@princejuvenztuico3985 sounds good! I’m sure there are some closer than you think. Keep check your local pond owners and may be able to find some from them!!
Oh no! Could be anchor worms. If so, you can salt the pond or qt to .3 percent or get a broad spectrum disease treatment for combating parasites. The broad spectrum disease treatment may be the easiest option and follow the directions. The entire pond may need to be addressed if infested.
I'm learning so much from your channel. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend 💥👍
That’s wonderful and makes us so happy to hear it! We definitely want to bring enjoyment to the hobby and hope others enjoy it as much as we do. 😊
Crazy rain. Such beautiful butterfly koi.
Thanks my friend!

Keep manually removing and monitor. I’d be happy to help where possible. 😊
Looks like you guys also have quite a few ponds! You should give us a tour of the facility in a future video!
A very studious viewer indeed!! That’s a great idea.
