How to Clean Parrot Perches | 3 Ridiculously Easy Steps
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 жов 2024
- This is one of my favorite tricks for thorough cleaning! It requires no soaps or cleaning products whatsoever, which is the awesome part.
Now I've simplified this otherwise annoying chore.
1. Gather perches.
2. Place in dishwasher.
3. Start dishwasher on the longest, hottest, steamiest cycle possible.
That's it. Enjoy your clean perches!

Wow, what a great idea. I used my toothbrush so far. But it had strange taste afterwards. Now all my plates will have that special aroma.
I have so many questions, and am deeply disturbed
Excuse me what?
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Omg! I cnt believe people can be this disgusting I mean u might as well wash ur children poop underwear in dish washers also
OMG!!! I'm so doing this!! All this time I've been using a tooth brush and vinegar. You just saved me like three hours of scrubbing. THANK YOU!!!!
Those perches looked brand new.
Holy BAT MAN! I have to do this. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! TO darn EASY. I am not afraid to use my dishwasher as it's a really good one and who cares about a little crap in the bottom of it as we can do one more load with a little vinegar as a rinse. What a GRAND idea. Thank you again Jamie.
I bought a steamer and a pressure washer for that stuff.. I don't own a dishwasher but even if I did I don't think I would want to wash them in the same place I put my food bowls.
Why? The heat sanitizes everything.
Run a bleach load through it when it is empty for the 4 hour cycle and it will be fine. I have seen way worse go in then bird perches
Yeah, I thought the same thing. I can't use my dishwasher for that. And now I am never going to eat at my friends house that has birds! LOL
@@alainadoyle3888 she said because she doesn’t have a dishwasher. Not everybody has a dishwasher and if I had my choice, I would have mine taken out too. I do on a steamer and power washer too, so I think I’ll just stick with those.
I agree with that and it may sanitize but it’s just the idea of putting stuff in my mouth or bird poop has been. lol
Oh my, God! This is so much easier than hand-wash the perches. I don't know why I didn't think of this.
This is a disgusting idea. I can’t believe people are like omg yes ima do this 🤮. Do you also wash your dishes in your toilet bowl??
Never thought of this! Thank you!!!!
Thank you Jamie, I know where all of ours are going next week! Never thought of using the dishwasher, I usually use poop off and an old toothbrush - takes hours!
RIP ROCCO, forever in our hearts!!!
brilliant
I assume you do the same this year too but I want to deep clean my bird’s stuff, I have one pediperch-sort off perch and a rope perch (a type of boing with the wire core) and I wonder how I can clean and dry it. help? someone??? how can I do it???
I would totally do this but my mom would murder and disown me lol
Nope. Poop and dish washer. Just no.
This is quite possibly one of the most icky things I’ve seen…. Like.. omg. You put your dishes in there. Sanitary wash, hi temp,I don’t care…. Nope. Just NOPE. Wish you the best.
do you remove the rinse aid before the wash cycle?
Never would have thought to use a dishwasher! I suppose it wouldn't work with mine though as they are all wood. :(
Hippie Whovian some of mine are too! It’s fine for them :)
What about the rinsing agent that is in the dishwasher?
Can I wash toys with dishwasher too?
Clogged up my dishwasher
My smallest wood perch is 3 ft. in length ... Can't do this
I wouldn't use sand perches..it can create problems with your birds feet such as sores...it like you walking on sand paper everyday
I know this is late but can anyone tell me which perch is the best? Like material wise?
Cork oak is the best in my opinion
how do you disinfect wood perches?
same process! the intense heat will itself become a disinfectant
Great, IF you have a dishwasher!
What if i don’t have a dishwasher
I could not use the dishwasher for this.
I just uses dish soap but rinse thoroughly.
Hiii I have just purchased wood block toy for my conure , can u please tell me that should I wash it with water before placing it in the cage or should I just place it cage straight out of packet ?
@@dreamreality3052 how is your bird doing now
Ewwww! And wash our plates where the bird shit was!?
Goh Mike haha! You can run a sanitary wash afterwards with soap. Just wouldn’t use soap for the bird related stuff.
I don’t have a dishwasher :(
Those mineral perches are not good for your bird’s feet. They cause ulcers on their feet!
I’m not sure I would wash bird poop where I wash my dishes. I’m not trolling and I’m not trying to be mean it just seems unsanitary to me.
Personally I wouldn’t either but the heat and disinfectants would kill any bacteria
You seriously put those filthy bird crap covered perches in a dish washer you use for your regular dishes? Oh wow. I think I would have soaked them in hot water in a utility sink where I don’t wash my dishes.
Did you ever think that they have a separate dishwasher for the bird area?
Disgusting. Sorry not sorry.
Uhh if it was so easy why did you take so long to clean them?? They were beyond nasty looking..
Because birds are the messiest pets😅
