@Maurice Cuban food isn't spicy but it is well seasoned ala Caribbean style but if you are going to try it please make sure you go to a authentic Cuban restaurant!

As a Mexican I’m not a huge fan of Cuban food because majority of isn’t spicy 🌶
We don’t have a lot of spices there I grew up there and when I came in 2012 I didn’t like the spicy food but now it’s pretty good but my stomach can’t really hold it 😂
JL, You pronounced "Pinar" correctly! I like the steam table presentation! You can see exactly what you get! In Cuba they say "Congree" to describe the rice & beans. In PR they say "Moros"! The real "Cuban" sandwich is made with ham & pernil! You ate a Beef version of that! That delicious beef stew is called "Guisado de carne de rey"! Cubans know it’s congris , also we don’t get a lot of red meat mostly in the black markets but yeah many people go to Cuba but not the very small towns which they should because our little towns have great fresh foods
This place is delicious! I don't live too far from this restaurant. Definitely recommend going there.
Some of my favorites except I've never thought plantains were all that great unless they're the sweet ones. The Cubano looked awesome since I've only had them with meat, mustard and pickles.
Going anywhere else than tourist town ? 😚 SoFlo is where its at.. Not central. All good though.

I live right there. IMO You missed the best bistec just by a couple of miles. It's called Cuban American Cafe on W. Central. I live right between both. I get them both a lot. Cafe Pinar has more of a selection.
They take food to a much higher level down south, including, sunny😎🌞Floria!🥭🍍🥝🍊🥥🍺🍹🦐🦞🐋🦀🍤🫕🥩🌈🛥🌊

Used to go here almost weekly under the old owners. Not as enjoyable anymore. Empanadas changed, mango and passion fruit juices changed, prices increased. Service was equally cold compared to prior owners
The owner probably cashed out and sold the place... Unfortunately, new owners don't always retain the cooks who actually prepared the food.
