Best American band ever?
They're better than the best.
@@RTek1986 Is that even possible>? If so, Uncle Bob is our man!!!
Fuuuuuq that’s tough, tough to beat! GBV has been part of my life for 21 years now
Yep! and this latest run of albums has been outstanding!
In Bob We Trust :)
Stunning video, insane song. The new golden GBV era.
You can't stop the rock, and the rock is robert pollard, please come to europe, we miss you sooo much!
Yes please! … and Glasgow specifically 🤞
The band that never lets you down. Roll on, GBV!!!
And still after all these years they produce stuff that blows me away.
Peak GBV is now.
well not really.. i'd say it's different. i mean everyone knows that the 90s and early 2000s were bob's peak.. and he's still pretty good but different. he became somehow quiet predictable with his songwriting, which is fine, but of course not as good or unique as the old psychedelic kaleidoscope of genres that he used to put together with such genius.. but yeah, he's still the absolute best in the rock n' roll business.
Peak GBV since 1987
Crystal Nuns Cathedral might be the high water mark of this lineup, and I own all of them and have listened repeatedly. I can't wait for this one too. According to what Bob said when I saw them play in late April, the next one is already in the bag, called "La La Land." It's a wonderful time to be a GbV fan.
@@aaronlay4119 You're right, i took the time to actually listen to "Crystal" front to back, after all the positive reviews.
It is indeed very strong.
Album-wise, maybe the strongest since "Isolation Drills" although there are some all-time GBV classics sprinkled around all the albums made by this line-up.Examples: "To Keep An Area", "Bunco Men", "Rally Boys", "My Limited Engagement" "Diver Dan", "Volcano", "Batman Sees the Ball" "Cheap Buttons", yeah, the list goes on... :)
I have also listened to all of them and never understood people complaining about the amount of releases.But...even for me as a long time obsessive fan, Bob has turned the prolificacy up a notch lately! :)
I have to back and really listen to "Sweating the Plague" and "Styles We Paid For".
Pollard American music genius. To hell with Glastonbury.
I just love these kaleidoscopic collage videos.
These new videos really play with your eyes, lots of fun, and the songs are phenomenal
Come to Europe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO. GOOD.
GBV GBV GBV!!! Still remember picking up Vampire all those years ago and being completely floored!!! Thanks for all the gems fellas.
Coolest GBV vid yet!

Best song ive heard since the Wasp and Wosps LP by em !!!
Good one guys!! Excited for the new album
If Wire was an arena rock band.
Wicked groovy this! I want what they had. 🍄
I would like to point out that this unbelievable song flirts with the 5th "P": pmetal. I'm completely consumed by it.
👏 I applaud your Bob-referenced humour!
In the future, bands will be mining GBV 10-second-long riffs to write entire songs around.
Killer
Plenty hidden images. Heard on radio, was good to hear something new.
Fucking amazing.
Aaron Dunker’s GBV videos are all sooo good
merci from france .
yeah!
GBV going all Circus Devils.
oh ye's
Gah…this fookin’ rawks!
Nice ⭐⭐⭐
This song and vidio ( to me anyway) makes me think of the state of America today.
Fuck. Yeah!!!!!!!!
Fantastic song. I’m only upset that they didn’t play it when I saw them on 6/18. On the other hand, playing it probably would have meant not playing another great song. What a dilemma!
Fantastic edit!
phasing AND flanging, Uncle Bob launches another hardcore UFO into a cold uncaring universe...🎉
fodaaa!!

The fuck do you care, Nurse Ratchet?
Highly recommended on Timmy Joe's Twelve. ua-cam.com/play/PLF4QkIrB9LF7YkJS_tAwXnVaum3rsu24X.html
This is definitely the part of the GBV show where I go grab another beer, waiting for "Goldstar for Robot Boy", "Big Boring Wedding", or "Tractor Rape Chain" to come up on the setlist. God bless Bobby and the boys for keeping the train rolling but holy sh*t, I guess I'm in the minority of fans that find this new age of GBV thoroughly sleep-inducing. 😴
Ich bin ein......nerd!
Bob might be better served by putting out 1 record a year with strong melodic content (his natural gift) than 8 (w/ side projects) that lack
They've only put out about 2 or so on average for the last several years, and they're all good.
@@unionprounion6356 are any better than Speak Kindly?
Would have been perfect if it ended at 2 minutes, which is usually a Bob trademark...?!, but instead they bring it back for another 2+ minutes but they forgot one important thing.... make sure it's worth bringing it back because Bob knows better than anyone that leaving them wanting more is a 100 times better than having them reaching for the fast-forward button! And Bob, I love you to death and have for many years and many dollars but there's been way too much repetition for way too many years? Basically filling the shoes of everything from the beginning to Half Smiles Of The Decomposed (badass Fn album by the way), but back to the shoes.... as good and as strong as this recent band is, there was an unspoken magic that occurred when Bob first picked up Doug from Cobra Verde! I saw that magic for Mag Earwig (another unbelievable album), it was a free concert in NYC's Central Park Summer Stage 1997...! Bob had his cooler up there and he was quarterbacking Milly Lites to us in the back of the crowd, just launching full beers with a perfectly light handed spiral that would literally drop right into your hands, never hurt your hand once! And I'm praising Bob's athletic ability because I know he takes that shit seriously and let's face it, he's a jock and he'll say the same. Lol That was one of the best GBV shows that I've ever seen, Cobra Verde actually opened for GBV and when they finished I noticed Doug was standing there tuning and then here comes Bob and I do believe that Cobra Verde may have actually been Bob's backing band for that show, I was totally unaware that Cobra Verde was Doug's band though, I thought he was just in the band and that he was planning to leave to start the new chapter of GBV with Bob, which he did do and that's the magic I'm referring to, but there was something about the lineup for 'Isolation Drills' on through to 'Half Smiles...', in my opinion those albums along with their earlier stuff, are some of the greatest albums ever made not to mention the all around most song for song solid gold album GBV has done to this date, 'Universal Truths and Cycles'! And even though the latest lineup consists of 60% of the previous lineup and they are 100% all around solid Fn players, but it just doesn't have the same type of song that it once did!? And I don't know what happened, if anything with Tobias!?? But when he started producing for Bob and GBV, that's without a doubt some of the BEST stuff they ever did and you'll never ever get that again. It hurts me more than anything or anyone to have to say that the songs have been repetitively tired since the re-birth! Honestly... the best thing since 'Half Smiles...' has been the Cash Rivers series of albums! 🤙♠️
I'm GLAD it went longer.
This song wasn't drawn out. At the most recent show in the Dytn area, bob said there isn't gonna be any more short ones for awhile. This song was great. Your take about there being too much repetition on albums is flat out wrong. The albums from the new lineup are some of the best, get the shit outta your ears.
A thousand words whining a song is four minutes instead of two.
