This song has a special meaning to me because this song was played at the funeral of my mother in law. I always wanted to learn this song. I am a beginner guitarist and I am so great full you took the time to put this online. Thank you. Warm greetings from me, Bert from the Netherlands.
I really appreciate your generosity and giving nature in taking time to teach so many of my favorite songs mate! I have relied on your videos many times to guide me when i was stuck..thank you!
Thank you! I just heard this song for the first time and have been searching for the chords, only to find that none of the other tutorials had the every chord as it is on the record! Your tutorial is SPOT ON…. every note! 👍
I play mainly finger-picking, fairly detailed stuff, so the help you gave me with your tutorial took me aback. No detailed intro, so I had to work it out for myself. No mid-song solo, so I had to work it out for myself. End result is just what you said .. "my version". But without your identifying the basic chords, I'd never have had anything to hang my detail on. And if there is one detail that literally makes my heart skip a beat .. the Eb after the C. It NAILS it. And I have a 12-string Epiphone, purchased in 1973, and still trilling away.
Thank you so very much - this song has always been on my "Wish List" and I finally feel confident enough to try it. Yours tips and advice were perfect. Now I have a LOT of practicing to do!! Thank you again!!
You made me laugh out loud with “Eb. The chord every guitarist hates” So true. I HATE when I see it in a song I want to play. There’s no easy way to play it. Hahahahaha. Cheers!
Very useful. I kinda like playing the first G as the more normal sort of shape like 3-2-0-0-3 then kinda use the open high E then 2nd fret then 3rd. But listening to the song its actually the bass notes that are doing that progression, but it works nicely as a solo acoustic
Broooo this is the way I learn off people, how u just go for it and I see what your going for then you do it and it’s like perfect kind of learning for me thank u 🎉
Thanks for your great version of a classic song. I loved your comment about this is how "you" play it and to "feel free to change it anyway that you like." Very good point. I love your interpretation better than any other on the web! Appreciate the time and effort that you put into it!
Helllo Georgiarose, thank u very much for providing chord for this song. Your tutorial saved me lots of time in having to develop chord patterns for this song myself. Regards, snoma01 from Japan
The original version that Frank and Nancy recorded is in E M. If we men try to sing it in G (2 more keys) we won't make it, unless you're a girl or tenor alto. That sounds like the version of R. Williams, who, being a tenor, drowns in the high notes.
A very cool tutorial carried out in such an easy manner. Very much enjoyed your way of teaching such a good song. By the way, I have a granddaughter named Georgia Rose, which makes a great connection - she is a fabulous girl.
Now, if we who pick up the acoustic guitar to mimic this chordal arrangement only had the ability to emulate Frank and Nancy's duet, now, that would make for an interesting and satisfying cover. I love the guitar work....half the work is really in the right hand and cadence.....but the guitar background alone sans Frank/Nancy lacks a key component. But, nice work, sir. Sounds very good.
I think your videos and song choices are awesome. I thank you so much because I work hard at the acoustic guitar and find it difficult. You help enormously. Thankyou so much. Regards Buskergirl
eres lo máximo! muchas gracias por los acordes .... you're the best ! thank u so much for the chords. I could learn so fast the song ( and sorry for my English) haha.. a hug from Venezuela!
Thanks Pete for tutorial, have you ever thought with you covers when there is a guitar solo at start like there is on this one of doing what some others do and that is video doing the solo and overlaying it onto video of you playing the chords.
Thank you so much for making this video. I learned how to play My Way, and just had to try other frank songs One question:when you are doing the G Major without the bar chord, is there anything special you do to make it sound a little different when strumming it, to get a two-part feeling, like you do with the aminor-7 going to the B7? Everything else super clear and helpful, thanks so much
I think bar chord G with open E is G6 not maj7. You probably just mixed it up with Fmaj7 this is where playing the open E string is maj7. When you show the alternative chord you call it G6 correctly :-) Please not meant to be nitty-gritty or disrespectful I love your vids watch them everyday! Greetings from Vienna Austria!
Yes, i agree, its funny when i came to explain it, and teach i noticed that that chord didnt sound right when he called it Gmaj7 so i checked it again, and i found you. Peace but still a good lesson peace, and thanks., to give that swingin sound, play the G chord, with your thumb on the 6th string, and leave the open bottom E string open, right?
What's the issue here? Move an open position A shape up with only bottom 2 fingers, and remaining finger on fret 6 of the high E, gives an easy and satisfying rendition, without all the snobby purist BS.

This tutorial was amazing. Great chords and great explanation. You are a really awesome human being

3:02 G to G7
3:21 C Chord too E Flat
Repeat Chorus
Verse 2:

Thank you sm

So true. I HATE when I see it in a song I want to play. There’s no easy way to play it. Hahahahaha. Cheers!
play c
move it to the 4th and mute the g string
With the pinky is easiest. And I have smallish hands

Tres bon tuto très bon prof grâce à vous j'ai pu jouer cette magnifique chanson DEUD

Exactly what I needed thanks!
A Gmajor with an open high E string is a G6, not a Gmaj7. If you want to play the latter, you need an F#. Also the record is in E.
Brilliant job mate
Thanks mate! Nicely taught.
Great tune Buddy . Thanks for showing us how .
Thank you for the tutorial! This is beautiful.
acertado en las notas,y, el tutorial bien sencillo felicitaciones...!!!(Ecuador_Quito)..puedes subir un tutorial de.."torn between two lovers"...???

Bravo vince
Could you please start your videos with
"role call...
Jermaine?
Bret?"
But in all sincerity EXCELLENT tutorials
"That's how you play something stupid..." 😂
Seriously tho, awesome tutorial!
Great tutorial.
By the way, it's a G6 (G Major 6) chord you're playing in 1:30 and NOT a "G Major 7" as you state. :-)
Big fucking deal boy,
Thank you so much for making this video. I learned how to play My Way, and just had to try other frank songs

You're really good at playing something stupid......... LOL. I had to say that. Nice lesson.

Fantastico
this is great! helpful... thanks!
Hi!! can you do a tutorial for somebody by depeche mode?
Hi, where did you get the chords from? Would like to have a copy of them. Thanks
get over the strum pattern!!!!!!!!!!! wow
very nice lesson! those barre chords always get me though.. :(
Thanks for sharing this, but why did you do this in a different key than what Sinatra recorded it in ?
CARALHO CARA EU TO CHORANDO i shall play this for my girlfriend no matter what
More Beatles!!!
thank you so much!
Someone can write chords please? I don't undenstand very well :( thanks and great cover!!
What plectrum do you use?
Nice!!
Any particular reason you transposed the whole song up 4 steps? Playing in the original key would eliminate your dreaded Eb, making it a C major.
What's the issue here? Move an open position A shape up with only bottom 2 fingers, and remaining finger on fret 6 of the high E, gives an easy and satisfying rendition, without all the snobby purist BS.
Thanks
If u want to play it to the recording tune down to c#
why tune it to c# ? might as well use a capo or play the actual chords
the frank sinatra version sounds like it is in E though, excellent tutorial but this sounds more like the robbie williams version
cool!
Buenisima
❤❤❤❤
