    Your voice is a muscle and if you're serious about wanting to learn to sing well then you need to strengthen that muscle. I can speak from experience, as someone who couldn't belt, twang, sing more than an octave and a bit and had massive pitching issues to someone who has been singing professionally for the last 15 years. I did at least 15 minutes exercising a day as well as singing through lots of material and within six months my voice made an incredible change. You can too.

    Well, you certainly gave me enthusiasm to try! But my goodness, I'd never realised how tricky it is to sing in harmony! All of my mother's side are musical and we often get together to sing or play various instruments, but this is the first time I've ever tried to learn a vocal harmony... Needless to say, I will need a lot more practice! Kudos to you for your easy to follow video, magical ways of simplifying things and your beautiful voice! I'll definitely be tuning in again (as soon as I've mSyered this one! 😉) Thanks for a great vid tutorial! Xx

    OMG!!! You don't know how helpful this video is for me. As a young child in the early 70s. It is one of the songs i grew up listening to.. the Sinatra's version.. (my dad's music) and i love it. I love to sing and I've always wanted to sing this in a duet but i keep getting the boys part in my head and have difficulty keeping harmony. I learn music by the ear, but this song is terrible for me. When i heard Nicole sing this with Robbie, I said if she can so can I, but alas.. i still revert to the melody..just what i needed...to hear your note per note instruction to be able to maintain my harmony. 50 years of frustration solved. Thank you. 😊💜😊

    Really well done. I have been playing music since 15 (now 62, guitar, cello) and can sight read harmonies but don't hear them 'out of the air'. You really, really help with that, and even though I am learning by rote it helps me to hear the other part better. One question: in the last line you sing the G 3 times as the high note, then the F# on the 4th time. But when you play the piano part it alternates between the two. Nit picking, I know, and both probably make harmonic sense, but just curious. You really are very helpful in an area I have always struggled with so thank you!! Abrazos de un Uruguayo.

    Just a little tip for karaoke singers doing duets: Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton took turns singing lead/harmony on Islands In The Stream and it turns out this is a really nice technique (dare I say trick?) that works on a lot of songs, including Something Stupid. If you want a real challenge, try it on Endless Love... both parts are pretty difficult and you'll have to know where and when to switch octaves if you don't have the range for both voices. It doesn't always work but you'd be surprised how often it does, so don't feel constrained by what someone else thinks are the male and female parts. :)

    Hi there,
    I love your videos and have been applying them for probably the last year. I want to know if you can give some tips on how to create a smooth blend from low to high. If I sing high, pretty much full voice throughout a song, I find it very difficult to go low and maintain a clean and clear sound, unless I start low and stay low. Hopefully you get what I'm trying to say. As I go through each different registar do I need to change, or should it just all be blended?
    Thanks in advance ☺

    • @VerbaVocal
      @VerbaVocal  7 років тому +1

      Hi Elisabeth, this is not an easy issue to address via messages. The best tips I can give is to make sure you FULLY warm up both your high and low voice, spend time practicing things like octave leaps. It's simply a case of conditioning your voice to make the gear changes. Probably best to find a local singing teacher to work with you face to face on this. Best of luck. Anna :)
