Connor really won me over with this performance today. I haven't always been a huge Mantz fan. Anyone who's willing to go for the win and do their absolute best I'm going to root for.
Conner’s college cross country record is absolutely amazing. He is still very young and if he can stay healthy will likely be able to run sub 2:05 in a couple of years.
So Prefontaine Like.... the Next Leading American Distance Runner.....Rupp is on Top now but Connor is moving up.American Marathon n Half Records will be his soon. That US Olympic Marathon Trial in February gonna be REAL Interesting....👍🏻👟
Huge Mantz fan. I turned on the race at 10k and saw Mantz was with leading pack. I thought to myself he is going too fast and that isn't his game plan . Despite him going out too fast he still did a lot better than I thought he would. Especially him talking about almost blacking out and almost walking . More respect. I do wonder though if would have paced himself the first 10k if he would have had a stronger finish and better outcome.
I heard that Kipchoge arrived in Boston but didn't spend any time on the BM Course.... big mistake.... Consider Frank Shorter's strategy in Munich...... Shorter scoped Munich out to where he knew every turn, tree, bush, down hill or corner that could shield him from the view of his competitors and when he reached that spot he would surge to put additional space between him and the chase pack......that's the advantage of training on the coures and particularly in Boston. Conner ran the same approx time as Bill Rogers and had Conner really known the course as well as Rogers he would have been in the top 5. I have watched Conner race since his double win in the NCAA X Country Championship....He's a great runner, a great student at BYU and an excellent example .. I believe Conner is well deserving of the Sullivan Award, I truly admire this young man and wish him all the best.
I loved seeing the gutsy performance. Obviously he couldn’t hang but I love to see someone putting it all out there!
Love the way Mantz runs...he always lays it all out there...and runs with such grit. Success is definitely in this mans future!!!
More like in this Mantz’ future!
@@danvillalba5779 was about to say just that....

Bro ran a few 6 minute miles and still got 2:10

Proud of Mantz for going for it! I can't believe he said he split a 4:35 at mile 15 and still got hawked by the lead pack. Wild!😅
Guy has got balls!!! I think this was a big learning experience for him. Still runs a 2:10 which is flying.

loved this!! he rocked it!! also loved his breakdown
Way to go for it!
“Started to blackout at mile 25 so I had to back off my pace a little” hard to imagine 👍

Only a hand full of humans can hang with Kipchoge! Amazing performance Conner! USA future looks very bright with this guy.
Awesome running! Always going for the win because i”t’s a RACE”
I split 4:33 on that mile... "They split 4:25..." They split 4:25? That makes sense. Great guy, great interview
Running his own race & pace would have been a much better strategy.
Surely the half wasn't 59min?
Correct. It was at 20 kilometers that the front pack clocked 59:00. They still had another kilometer to reach the halfway point.
1h02 20s sounds more realistic lol
Ritz doesn't age.
Lousy sound.... I can't hear anything...
I heard everything and I gotta say, it feels amazing being able to hear it. Really wish you could experience it.
recording more room than voice. Make dreams come true with a condenser pls
