Im trying so many techniques this year it's crazy! I'm trying this on the mag 2 zoom ribbon worm on a 5/0 straight shank instead of a rb. Through my years of fishing up north, I've always used a K and E purple and white worm that just plain kills it! It twirls when you reel it and of course when it falls! I really wanna start trying other techniques and this is one of them! Great vids btw as well! 👍
This is how I rig my worms ever since you demonstrated this in previous videos, this is a great setup and thanks to Baitwrx for stocking these straight shank hooks, I have my hook box stocked with these!! Thanks Randy!! :)
That works because I've tried it, you've shown that before, I'm big on zoom baits & lizards are one of my favorites, zoom don't make kudzu color anymore for them, that's one of the best colors I think for lizards, was a wondering if you could talk to zoom about it, that would be awesome!🎣
Your tip about skin hooking the worm works especially well on tough plastic like Z-man worms and thicker stick baits. As for why some of us like EWGs, it usually comes down to cost. They're the cheapest option that allows you to use thicker plastics, and I haven't personally had issues using EWGs over straight shanks or offset worm hooks.
I honestly never lose fish on an EWG. I always thought it was the perfect hook for a Texas Rig. The gap is wide enough for me to get a good hook in em without worry of them jumping off. I think a lot of it is personal preference, but use what works for you. No 2 people set the hook the same either. Timing, power, and a lot of other variables can go into that also.
Always use a flat toothpick it won't pinch your line and allows the weight to slide up and down just right works good for me for 50 years of bass fishing 😀
Randy I have a video for you and I am sure others will have the same issues. Could you talk about drop shot knots. I use the palomar and sometimes it just doesn't snug up right. Hook goes upside down, hook is twisted side ways, hook doesn't stand up straight ect. I use your Fluorocarbon knot now and my life is so much easier
I wish all the channels I watch put out videos every hour. Very Informative.
Thanks Randy, I’m always learning from your videos how to be a better fisherman. Much appreciated
Interesting, I don't think I can ever recall a time that I've lost a hookup on an EWG hook running it skin hooked on the top of the worm.
I use offset round bend and skin hook, works great
Great video on Texas Rigs
Incredible day fishing yesterday.. despite ridiculous conditions, just kept thinking....think like Randy. Works for more than fishing!!
I never used em but an old tru turn might be perfect for side skin hookin
Thank You Randy
Gonna do it tomorrow

I’ve been looking forward to a lesson with worm fishing
Can't beat a green pumpkin worm, I really like ultra vibe speed worm's, haven't seen magnum size though.
I have switched to straight shank & swimbait hooks with screw lock keepers on them.
I can’t hook a worm straight anyway. Now I can say I hook them crooked on purpose.

Do you run the tag end back thru the eye of the hook before you put the weight on?
Sounds good but won't that cause a lot of line twist?
Minimal
Did Poche stretch the rules using the smaller boat to get in backwaters
✅
Do you feel the ultra vibe speed worm will become one of those telegraph baits to bass in the future?
Great tip…… But maybe, add a public service reminder, do not get into a stranger’s boat.
Should be titled 3 plastic worm tricks I’ve shown you at least three times before.
skin hookin is key! @geniuslevel
