When i started with G/A in 1995, the reef was in heaps better condition than it is now, its really sad to see how much its deteriorated, it was far more vibrant and coulerful up untill about 25 years ago but its decline started long before then, Climate Change and Chemical run off from the land being among the major culprits, i was involved in Reef tourism business for about 38 years over all so i cant crow much about the effect that tourism has had on the GBR as well, i wish you could have seen it 30 years ago! It woulve amazed you!
Great content Greg ! Please make a video on the life in Cairns as there is none on UA-cam. Tell us about the rainy days and the everyday life in cairns, what to do and what not to do….. I do understand you are from overseas yourself (like me). I love in Perth and taking into consideration to move in cairns ! 😊
I remember going out on a rough day and people were chucking up everywhere! I'd recommend learning to dive as it does really take you to another world and enhances your holiday experience. You can take the skill to the next place/country and enhance that holiday experience too!
Aha i see the Reef King!!! I worked as an engineer with Great Adventures for 16 years, The RK was my favourite! A mate of mine still drives it! Great Vid BTW Greg, yep used to hate those rough days and felt sorry at times for you guys, paying all that money and rough weather! it aint cheap!
I think you should rate this against what the alternative might be. You didn't mention the buffets, I assume you got the good food as most pontoons do, also the introduction to scuba is pretty good which you didn't do. Interesting watching your vid.
It is much better when there is little to no breeze and the sun is shining big time.
I definitely agree with that rating... especially for the snorkelling part! Video is pretty handy if you're planning your trip to Cairns 👍
Haha thanks brotha

Yea I’ve been meaning to for ages. I think diving will do worth it!

Yea I didn't rate any of the extra features that cost more. I should have mentioned the buffet food.
Fair comment Jamo!
Recommend the self guided scuba tour, albeit not cheap but heaps better than snorkling
I used to work on those reef boats They will go out pretty much any weather….they want their money!
