the head of the WRPF is Russ Kern. NOT Rob Kearney, huge fan of Rob Kearney and subconsciously replaced the name 1000 times in this Podcast. Apologies to Rob Kearney, you’re the man.
I certainly understand Johnnys point on feds not abolishing the dl bar but I honestly think it’s essential for the growth of the sport to have powerlifting more standardized and on the same level of performance
Yeah man it's Johnny here. Loved the USPA and is certainly significantly roe convenient to compete in, but I can't put money in the pockets of people that mishandled that situation so aggressively. PLU will be great.
Sport is still beyond young so to be honest the future is so hazy because things constantly change. When Ena said all the powerlifting records are low, he wasnt lying lol. In the next 5 years, the current totals are gonna be a joke and i'm here for it
Americans always find a way to avoid going to compete on a power bar. Cmon, John Haack accepted the challenge and he’s going to compete in Ireland at ABS PRO 2025 on a power bar. If the #1 has the balls to go from a kabuki to a power bar, there’s no excuse for everybody else below him
As stated, stiff bar meets should be an option in untested and the top of the sport should participate.By no means should it be the sole bar competed on.
@@NOBSPL it's a matter of just accepting the total to be shaved off 10-15kg and grow a pair and push to be stronger. I mean, untested side already has the advantage of using peds anyway, why the need to use the most cheating bar ever created, the Kabuki? Makes no sense. One side tested, one side untested. But same rules. Easy concept imo.
it’s a matter of disregarding the entirety of the history in untested powerlifting. all of the records anybody’s chasing are done with deadlift bars. It’s not a matter of growing a pair 😂 there are now routes to competing on a stiff bar for anybody who would like to which is great. Like I said I’ll personally enter one of these meets, but removing the opportunity for guys to compete against these records isn’t it.
@@johnnykaufman5054 Say John Haack beats the ATWR in the 220lb on a power bar. Say Dave or Zac do the same at 275. Jesus is doing the same in 308+. Is it going to be hard asf for the other guys to do the same on their respective weight classes? Sure. But maybe if the sport moves into that direction, people will discredit more and more the totals in kabuki bars. Just like people do it nowadays regarding totals in wraps Texas deadlift bar already gave a slight boost to the deadlift. But the kabuki is out of hand, especially for sumo pullers. Danny on a power bar would still be below 1000lb...
@@alexisvnc John won’t beat the 220lbs ATWR on a power bar, because it’s his record on a Kabuki. Power Bar John won’t defeat Kabuki John for obvious reasons. As I said in the podcast, I hate the Kabuki and it should leave the sport Texas is the way. Danny and Jamal can both pull a K on the Texas, Jamal’s a better Texas puller when we’re talking about bar to bar discrepancy in 1RM. What other people, completely inexperienced to the reality of these bars, decided to give an arbitrary degree of credit to is not my concern. Regardless, changing your argument from deadlift bar’s to specifically a kabuki changes the entire thing and doesn’t work.
Always disheartening to hear that new lifters will compete against dudes potentially on SARMS, TRT, etc even in tested lifts. Well it at least demotivates me knowing I might never have an even playing field.

STIFF BAR SUPREMECY LIKE THIS COMMENT IF YOU WANT UNTESTED ON STIFFYS
To be clear the pros of having more stiff bar opportunities is to grow the audience, nothing else
Yes
Another great episode. I find it so funny when rondel sparked johnny to do mini rant on the Daniel Zamani and his bench lol
I still compete USPA due to local meet availability but this PLU stuff is exciting
