- Gareth Bale crushes some absolute bangers into the net. I'm not even a huge fan of soccer/football, and even I'm pumped watching Bale's best goals!
I'm some guy from Texas, giving his two cents that no one asked for. Grab a drink and watch with me!

he was on side when the ball was played, it doesnt matter if he then ran past the other player
yeah, the offside rule applies when the ball is played, not when the ball is received. he was onside when the passer played the ball.
Yeah that pass was more akin to a through ball.
Gareth Bale began his professional career with my club, Southampton. It is amazing how many players come up through our youth academy. But Gareth Bale was always going to be on the international stage - a really great player.
Funny they all flourished when they left Southampton ;)
@@thomascooper5114 Apart from Adam Lallana sadly. But bigger clubs have bigger budgets, so yes, our players have better players to play with when they leave.
Bro founded Southampton
@@Swindondruid2 Lallana came up through Bournemouth acad
The context of the last few goals mean a lot more then the actual goal it's self that's what makes them great goals
You should watch best english football chants
I’m exactly the same watching these things. Lots of booms, bangs, ooooooos, eeeeeeeees, sheeeeeeezs and green screen glow off my dome.😁 Cheers! 🍻
Yeah my delta keyer was doin weird stuff to my skin haha
I wish Real Madrid didn’t waste his talent, he’s already getting washed up Wales need him!! 🏴
Afternoon kidda, hope ya canny, (well), 👍👍
Your a legend!!!
What a Welsh footy player!
The offside rule refers to when the ball is played, not when it's received. So to be offside you'd have to be ahead of the last defender at the moment when whoever is passing to you kicks it. If both players are ahead of the defense then the pass is offside if the ball is played forward
Viva Gareth Bale, Said he had a bad back!
5:40 he's not offside as offside is measured when the ball is passed
Did I just see a unicorn? An American that understands the game ... apart from the offside. But it's probably THE most complicated rule in football.
Unfortunately, he didn't have a good tournament at the Euros. A good game against a poor Turkey side but missed what he'd have regarded as a sitter against Italy.
I think I need to have a beer - I'm in shock😱
😂 😂 I like tipsy Mike 🍻
a great welshman! can u react to MPs behaving badly next?
Ill add it to the list!
if you search for something like "best premier league goals of the century" you get some mental goals
that's the same Gareth Bale who played against Denmark yesterday?
Bale doesn't even like football anymore, he doesn't even celebrate winning cups and titles as hes done it that much
The Wales fans need cheering up, so you could check out pictures of them singing their anthem. There are more people in my county than Wales and as many as in Scotland, so both punch above their weight as England need to do to beat Germany this week. It would be timely to do something on the history of that fixture. Don't mention the penalties!
Four things to see are:-
1 Quotes from the legendary Liverpool manager Bill Shankly.
2 Neil Innes video of song One Thing on Your Mind.
3 Ripping Yarns episode Golden Gordon, but watch Eric Outhwaite first if you have time.
4 The film The Damned United.
I listed these in time needed least to most, but all will help understand both football and UK.
He is from about 4 streets down from where I was born in Cardiff. I was about 20 years before him tho.
Hey man! Love the channel! You should do a rugby hits reaction as the British and Irish lions tour as just started in South Africa 👌🏻
You have as many beers and be as loud as you like mate, you work hard, so play hard 👍🏻😊💕
Offside is decided based off of when the ball was last touched by a teammate so the goal in question is not even a close offside decision. The placement of your head blocks the exact moment of the pass but at around 5:21 you can see when the pass is hit he is not further up the field than 2 oppsoing players. In this case the goalkeeper and the central defender.
Drunk Texan ftw
Because you're watching Wales captain Gareth Bale, I'm going to wish you "Iechyd da" (pronounced yakky dar - the Welsh for Cheers!
Yeah I would NOT have pronounced it that way lmao!
That's not how it's pronounced 😜
@@gazmundo1987 :-(
My Welsh dad said that speaking Welsh was like speaking Arabic. You were saying what you wanted to say, or you were saying the exact opposite of what you wanted to say or you were describing part of a camel.
I've lived by this rule whenever I've tried to inflict my bad Welsh pronunciation on native speakers.
:-D
As a first language welsh speaker I can confirm that its definitely not pronounced that way, the ch is a letter in the welsh alphabet ypu could listen to the pronunciation of it on youtube
@@boardvision4965 but that's how it's said in Wales too. I speak Welsh BTW
I think the biggest misconception some Americans have is that beer in the UK is warm. It's just not true and is a HUGE mistake that people overseas make when they hear of it. The beer is served cool. It likely wont be ICE cold, but it will be refreshing, and yes, even have >condensation< on the glass. I feel like you hearing 'warm beer' has made you think that it's either room temperature, or even above room temperature; but that's simply not the case. I can confirm beers here are nice and cool, i'd even say cold.
A room temperature beer sounds nasty.
And if you got beers at home, I'm pretty sure most people are keeping them in the refrigerator too
(felt weird typing refrigerator instead of fridge lmao)
He was well onside when the ball was passed towards him. If he was past the last defender when the ball is passed to him then he is off side. What happened in that clip would technically be classed as a through ball, his team mate slotted the ball through to him, from quite a few stance as well....
Even in the US, Soccer/Football is the most popular sport in the world! 🤪
Offside counts when the team member passes the ball, if you make it past the other team before you receive it its all good
A worm burner? Yeah,I like that one.
There would be a flag waving if it was offside 100%, or as an American work mate says "there'd be laundry of the field if that was offside". He still hasn't gotten over his NFL ways, but we're not complaining. Thanks for the content, now subbed.
You seem like one of lifes good guys
Daisy cutter=Worm burner
Your logic is baffling! x
You would have to drink a lot of cans of Budweiser to get drunk - 4.3% alcohol!
I didn’t know til I moved to France that you can get beer that is 13% alcohol
He was salty after getting hamerd by Denmark last night 😂
yep. bit of a fanny.
Offside is when the pass is hit from the other player. So, if the scorer/attacker is faster and can get behind AFTER the pass is hit, it's still onside.
The word football when originally coined had nothting to do with games involving balls being kicked.
It was a word used to describe a variety of games played on foot as opposed to on horseback, so technically almost all ball games are football.
I love me some handegg, great sport!
Offside is when the last player kicks the ball, you have to have two oponents between you and the goal and that can include the goalkeeper, so when the ball was played the keeper and the guy in the middle played him onside.
No when the balls played passed u cant b ahead of the last defender wetes this 2opponent thing cum into it u dont need 2defenders when ball is realised if ur ahead of the last defender ur offside easy as that not 2,and opponents swifty dublin ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
I understand that in America you have a memorial Day for veterans we have Poppy day or Remembrance Day might be a good idea to do a reaction video on the differences
American football is NOT football.
This is football
Good T-Shirt, I'll drink a cold one in honour of John Browning.
Budweiser isn't beer. it's an alco pop that kids drink at weddings and such
A player is judged to be onside or offside at the moment the ball is played to him. A player cannot be offside if the ball is last touched by an opposing player. A player can be offside technically but the game will continue if the player/s is deemed not be interfering with play.
The last goal. the bicycle kick was his first touch of the ball having come on as a substitute in the Champions League final against the team that I support. Liverpool. But as a Welshman I forgave him and as a football fan I secretly admired it.
Just curious, where does the name Soccer come from?
He's got a foot like a traction engine!
Classic Partridge
Little known fact is the uk used to call football soccer, thats why countries like us, canada, australia and south africa all call it soccer.
In South Africa it is football
You afto be head of the opposition when it leaves your teammates foot to be offside.
Bale's teammate past it to him when he was onside and he received it when he was ahead of the defence.
offside - is when the ball is played, not he reaches it.
They don't really add any force to the ball from a header, they redirect the momentum, so it's more the precision of the redirection that's difficult.
Offside occurs when the ball is played not when it is received.
So far as I understand it (I’m a casual football viewer; only really watch international competitions and cheer for England) the offside flag is only applied where the passing player makes the pass and the receiving player is beyond the deepest defender AS the pass is made and NOT as it is received so that was very much onside and not offside (not “offsides”, sorry mate had to call you out that 🤣) crack on with your weekend mate enjoy 🙏👍
An arm can’t be offside but a shirt sleeve can be. True fact.
I love how he saids “offsides” reminds me of people who say “no backsies” or “no swapsies”
Worm burner= grub hunter…
I’m going to have to ask for another british sport. Courtney lawes rugby beast video is well worth a watch
if you want to see skill check out Paul Gascoines goal against Scotland in Euro'96
The last 2 goals are cup finals.
Offside applies when the ball is played, not when it reaches the other player.
He was onside when the ball was played.
He's way past his best now. Pretty insignificant showing in the Euro's.
Mike you have gotta watch this, Hancock is a ****! By Jonathan Pie 😄
Pea roller 😜
Offside is when you are past the last man of the other team (not including the goal keeper) and the ball. If the ball is kicked past the last defender, you can run past him. Its only offside if you run past the last defender before the ball does. Otherwise you'd just have your strikers sitting in the oppositions goal and your team mates would just boot the ball up to the other end of the pitch.
Oh so even I got the offside rule wrong then?? Fair enough, I stand corrected, drunk but corrected I stand 🤣🙌
Wrong. A player is offside if they are beyond the last defender at the moment that the ball is played. if they are level with the last defender they are onside and if the the ball is last touched by the opposing team a player cannot be offside.
@@dougoneill7266 oh so I was in fact correct in my other comment…? Thank you 🙏
@@dougoneill7266 That's what I said? " If the ball is kicked past the last defender", alright I might not have specified timings but its hardly wrong?
@@KieranDevvs Maybe I didn't understand what you said.
The whole purpose of beating the 'Offside trap' is to put the ball behind the defender. it doesn't matter as long as the attacker is not beyond the defender at the moment the ball is played.
You’re offside if you’re in front of the last defender when the balled was played forward not when you receive it.
As long as you are on side when the ball is played forward, it's not when received.
It's not that easy to put the ball in the net when no one else is in the way. ua-cam.com/video/nyoN5Tgtpu8/v-deo.html
If he was in that position when the ball was played he would be offside but he running and putting yourself in a position to score is not offside. And we would call it off side and on side. No S at the end 🙂
I love how after all these years of being surrounded by football friends I still cannot recognise an offside..
You do know what off side is tho?
@@skyebates246 correct me if I’m wrong… passing past the last defender to a striker? Right?
@@skyebates246 actually what I want to know, is why is offside a rule? What does it prevent from happening that I assume would somehow make the game unfair?
@@mostdysfunctionalfamily2725 you cant be behind the last defender when the ball is played to you , once the ball leaves the passers foto you van run in behind the last defender, without this rule it would be insanely tough to defend because the teams would stretch out to far because you could then put 2 attackers camping by the opponents goal, with offsides they cant i hope i make sense english is my second language
@@gamehardy you did really well, but I get it now thanks, you cannot receive a passes ball behind the last defender… because you could have people sat next to the goal and send the ball down to get goals very easily
Not off-side as the ball had been kicked by his own team moments *before* he sprinted ahead of the opposition.
Need to watch stevie Gerrards best 20 goals they are amazing pal for Liverpool YNWA97 🔥🔥
You should watch Rooney's best goals.
When the ball was played forward he was very, very much onside.
Ball control, check out Maradona, Best, Messi and Ronaldo.
PS. Association (soccer) football IS the most popular team sport in the world.
Please react to INZAGHI the best goal scorer
when........ the ball is passed. not recieved. offside is in the moment, not the aftermath.

Not the first he's done either.

BTW Bale earns £650k per week.
Do you even know where Wales is?
No Spurs goals? Wtf
Only England left in the competition.
We have Germany on Tuesday. Silly of kickoff time 17:00 BST.
I'd rather watch submarine racing than watch football....
react to messi or ronaldo
he should be good, when he is paid £1,400,000 a month.
He’s good, but he’s no CR7.
Off sides... there is no such thing.
He is ok but for real screamers. Steven Gerrard
Be as loud and annoying as you want, Brother. Bud's alright but I'm more an Amber Bock guy. You need to come to St Louis and do the brewery tour. Just a side fact, Soccer is the original name... from Association Football. I personally watch rugby and Australian Rules football more than soccer. But hey, beer goes with any sport... ok, not any lol
You call your football football because we play a game called rugby football most often called rugby. The English took the game of rugby football to the states and you copied it to an extent and shortened it to football before the actual game of football or soccer became a well known sport, You can only be offside when the ball is initially passed not when you receive it mate.
"Who might be the most famous soccer player? Came across Gareth Bale."
I wonder how this popped up for you. Did you read the search results upside down?
All jokes aside there is more to come for you with more entertainment than Bale might have to offer. Also his career took a dire turn at the end unfortunately and ended it a bit undignified.
Stfu bale was underrated asf, I hate people like you who disrespect players
learn about offisde first before you say it's offside
