  • This helped tremendously!!!! I cannot explain how much of a difference these springs made. They also sell a whole new clutch piece with the 6 holes already drilled out but you know I try to be cheap wherever possible lol. Links to all the products are down below. TY for video, I have a 2000 Suzuki Intruder 1400, I hear that the clutch springs in this bike are a bit weak naturally, this bike has a ton of torque, by adding some aftermarket springs what does it actually feel like? does it give you the allusion of more power and speed?

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому

      It really depends. You’ll always feel Stiffer springs up at the clutch lever that’s for sure. If your clutch was slipping at any point before, then you’ll feel the increased lock up and more consistent power delivery. If your bike wasn’t slipping at all or just barely slipping, you probably won’t feel any more power delivery and definitely no more top speed/ hp.

    My klx250 shifts rough from neutral to 1st gear, sometimes it makes a grinding gear noise + it can be felt vibrating in the gear shifter. Can it be caused by a weak (not stiff enough) clutch springs? Thanks

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  5 місяців тому

      Hard to diagnose online obviously without me being there and hearing it or actually feeling it. But I don’t think it sounds like a clutch problem. You can shift without the clutch as long as you’re in a normal rev amount and it would not be hard or grinding at all. So more than clutch. It sounds like it’s a transmission problem in my opinion.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah I know a few people that go this route. I don’t think it’ll hurt anything. The main reason that people used to do that was before a ton of companies got into making accessories for the bike there used to be limited options and that was a easy fix for it. I would leave it if you’re good but there are definitely better options like the 6 spring kit and others

    Hey man I’m sure I’m having the same issue. I just did the springs on mine and I have no idea how anything could have come out of alignment. When you made the mistake the first do was the clutch locked together so basically it wouldn’t engage and it was basically stuck in gear or was it like it was stuck in nuetral?

    • @RidinDad

      Basically stuck in gear. It’s so small it’s hard to tell. Just take it all apart and be extra tedious with it. You’re probably the 12th person to have the issue too and every time it’s the same thing so don’t worry about it. It’ll work! It’s just annoying lol

    Hi, does it work if i put one washer under every clutch spring to make them stiffer. Because i got rieju marathon 125 with 183cc malossi cylinder and my clutch begun to slip immediately. i havent found any stiffer clutch springs. Rieju marathon has same engine as yamaha wr 125 and the clutch ha 4 springs

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  2 роки тому

      I would strongly advise against it. Adding a washer to the spring does not increase the springs stiffness, rather it decreases the springs amount of available travel. Yes, initially it will feel stiffer but you will also lose travel which will decrease the ability for the clutch to fully engage and disengage.

    • @pleessi5516
      @pleessi5516 2 роки тому

    Take a look at ATD, CDI, or precision torque wrenches, CDI is owned by snap on and Precision makes the split beam for snap on. I’ve used my CDI’s daily for 8 years and check calibration monthly, I have never snapped a bolt while torquing something down, or left anything loose. HOWEVER, if you take metal fatigue into account and it’s a high stress part or is something like a lug stud that it torqued all the time eventually the bolt will snap, and this is why I will actually use new hardware on timing components or obviously internal engine parts unless it’s a low mile/ newer engine. I also believe manufacturers should definitely do a better job of telling you not to reuse hardware.

    • @RidinDad
      @RidinDad  Рік тому

      Yeah I don’t reuse bolts in specific places. The bolts Ive snapped before were brand new bolts with a $125 torque wrench. Im not spending more than that on a wrench when the method I’ve been using the past two years on pretty much every part I’ve put on multiple bikes is working good lol
