I woke up at 5am feeling weary and began meditating on Psalm 23:1-2. Right after praying this Psalm, I checked my UA-cam page and this video was recommended. God works in mysterious ways. It was a light bulb moment

how do you mediate psalms?
God does work in mysterious way. But what you are describing is looking for meaning in something that isn’t even clearly an unusual occurrence. You were praying then opened UA-cam so you noticed the video. But on other times you may not have noticed it since you weren’t thinking about it.
The point is that this is borderline superstition to look for signs such as recommended videos. What if the video wasn’t suggested when you went on UA-cam? What would that mean? That God does not exist? Obviously it wouldn’t mean that, but if you expect for random signs from God after prayer such as a video suggestion the logic would suggest that if you didn’t see it that God does not care.

To spark up your prayer life:
- pray the psalms
- say the lords prayer
- sing a hymn
- confess your sins
- pray for strength not to yield to temptation
- pray for your personal sanctification
Praying the scriptures is the best type of prayer because we are using God's very word in prayer. This is how our pastor has taught us to pray at church. So I did exactly as he advised immediately when the video ended. I wondered about which Psalm to read and Psalm 41 came to me and as I opened the Bible, it opened exactly to Psalm 41 and it was just the very prayer I needed for me and my mum.

Gods word does not come back void! Praying the word is wise counsel! Just don`t make it impersonal, always from the heart! Also start out with worship! I find that when I lift up my voice to God and sing worship to Him first. It helps me get out of my self, and puts my heart and mind on Him! God Bless!

I remember one night I wanted to pray about a problem I was having and I prayed the 23 psalm around my problem and I got an answer to my problem that night . The answer to my problem just came into my mind .

I have to say that something I’ve noticed in my own prayer efforts is that when I get in that “groove” so to speak, suddenly even my verbiage changes and even if my words are not necessarily quoting scripture - which does happen even without me realizing it at times - my words sound almost biblical just in the way that they come out, and when that happens the floodgates seem to open and prayer becomes - for lack of a better term - effortless. so when he said “pray the Bible” as in use the words of scripture and apply them to your situation I immediately see how that can and will be extremely helpful to myself and others watching. I tried praying specific scripture verse over and over but this takes it to another level! Praise God for the wisdom he's given you!

God blessed me with supernatural prayer language(Tongues) when i don't feel to pray i speak in tongues first and then after few minutes im starting to feel the quickening within me and i when i start to pray in my own language/understanding words are starting to pop in my mind.that is why in scripture said the Holy spirit will teach us what and how to pray when we dont know what to pray, when your flesh is weak the spirit will help us.
Leni&Lana Amin I'm sorry but there is no such thing in the Bible as "supernatural prayer languages." The tongues spoken of in Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians were real, human languages, not supernatural prayer languages.

There are different types of tongue(S)
1.Tongues of angels (1 Cor. 13:1)
2.tongues of men/human languages- example:The Day of Pentecost Acts 2:1-4 Acts 2:4
3. Unknown tongues- your supernatural prayer language for our heavenly father- It is kind of tongues available to all believers if you believe(mark 16:17).If every believers activate with this gift our christian walk will never be the same, you will walk in power because You are praying the perfect will of God and The Holy spirit will help us to pray.
the Spirit helps us in our weakness, For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.(Romans 8:26)

Great response. I also recommend listening to audio Psalms when you are on the go and praying along with them. Powerful, they sharpen our minds and guard us from all unrighteousness.

When I pray I'm getting sleepy then I forgot what I'm praying for... that's my biggest problem in my prayer life😢

When I start feeling sleeping I stand up (even if I’m comfortable in the bed. 😩 Also try writing down what you want to pray about. I hope that helps 🙏🏾
ive been struggling with anxiety before i pray its weird. i have a lazy spirit as well but at leasr when i pray its not boring. i start with worship music i walk around my house and start praising and clapping and worshipping him then i thank Him then i ask for blessings for my family and friends then make my request. Good worship music is key. i recommend 20 minutes of praise, a singer by the name of zacardi cortez, old worship songs like we exalt thee, the blood of Jesus etc. trust me u will not be bored after these songs get in your spirit
Wow... I really like the fact that you did not run away from reality. The video was helpful. I am going to try it.
One thing that always helps me is listening to worship music. It sets the mood for me. Many times I find myself forgetting about my needs and all I do is sing to Him. The Word is alive and active and this method, which I have used too is a great idea. The key is to not give up and be consistence.

Speaking in tongues requires an interpreter. How do you know it’s super helpful to pray in tongues if you don’t know what you are saying while praying in tongues?

I love how honest he is that even sometimes he doesn't feel like praying.
Love this methodology. I fell asleep 😴 for 2 hrs. in ATTEMPTING TO pray. Got up and knees in pain and went back to bed. Lord please forgive me, I need an intentional fervent prayer life. Definitely will try this method.
Now I know why YESHUAH approached the local people through simple narrations, stories and proverbs because it is the easiest way to teach them. And same idea still works out.

Prayer is communication with God. Prayer isn’t boring if you have a relationship with him & you’re constantly talking to him.

I was SHOOK when he said he doesn't ever really wake up feeling like praying. SHOOK. Because I thought it was just me, and the fact that I'm new at praying. But even him too! Meaning our hearts are truly despretely wicked and only the Lord God knows it!! Before I pray I write down things I should focus on that day. Let if it's the holliness of God then I write Exodus 15:11 or if I want to focus on God's grace I'd write Ephesians 2:8. And I pray and thank God with the versus. It helps alot 👌 Ngl!
I would also say that a constant theme of scripture is persistence in prayer. Jacob and how he wrestled with the Lord is a perfect example of contending with the Lord in prayer and not letting go until He blesses us.

No, Dr. Whitney, it’s not that I find prayer boring, it’s that it is depressing. It seems so hopeless. It makes me think of problems that seem insurmountable.
To me praying is not just talking to God but essentially submitting everything to God. Have faith in God that He will answer to your problems and not try to solve it by your understanding or capability. God is always there for you even when it might not feel like so. I understand that it's hard to do so but I hope you can keep praying!
Thanks for this tip. I don't really have issues with prayer, because I speak to the Lord like I would talk to my best friend. (I even cuss sometimes; I know that's not right, but God knows my hard and understands my frustrations.) However, in prayer groups, I have to do it differently.
