- In Paris, among all of the history and glamour, one can find something completely unexpected: a 10.5 mile trail plotted out by American Boy Scout troop leaders. The trail highlights sites of importance to both the French and Americans. Ed O'Keefe brings us along to explore this connection dating back to Benjamin Franklin.

America and France aren’t just Allie’s but Best Friends that go back for hundreds of years they helped us during the revolutionary war and we helped them during WW2. Are friendship will hopefully keep going for many years to come 🇺🇸❤️🇫🇷
Our revolution was a trigger for their revolution.
🇫🇷 🇺🇸 Wow, that's so cool! ❤ this youth troop!
Uplifting. Americans learning while taking in another culture. From either Franklin or Jefferson there’s a great deal to learn.😊
🇺🇸🤝🇫🇷
It hasn't always been great. There was the Qusai War. France strongly supported the Confederacy and by default supported slavery. We nearly went to war over Mexico. There was the Vichy state, disagreements over NATO & the Suez Crisis.
Yes that is true, but every relationship has its ups and downs. Overall we’ve had more positive interactions than negative.🇺🇸❤️🇫🇷
Yeah but you could say the same stuff with Britain really. We weren’t really good friends Untill WW2 and after. Most of our current allies were once enemies. Japan, Germany, Britain, France, Italy, etc.
Rue Benjamin Franklin, Avenue du Président Kennedy, Avenue du Président Wilson, Avenue Franklin Roosevelt, Métro Franklin Roosevelt, Métro Rosa Parks, Joséphine Baker in the Panthéon, etc...
Are these scouts Americans living in Paris? This is not clear.
They don't speak French so NO !
Yes they are. The BSA have troops in Europe, Africa and Asia.
@@alexkaleochi4278 Thank you
You could take any pair of countries in the World and witness some bonds between them. I am sure they are places in Paris that are connected with Spain, India, China, Russia and so on.
N°44 and N°56 rue Jacob can also be mentioned, because they are very important in US History : those are the building in which the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1783, putting an end to the war of independence, and marking the birth of a Nation 😉
(p.s : func fact : Franklin refused to sign te treaty at N°44, siege of the British Embassy, because it was a British soil… So the treaty was brought to the N°56, where a hotel stood).
France wants to be friends so bad 😂
#Boyscouts is it safe ? #Eagle
On social media, many French people made fun of Joe "Walking Dead" Biden.
Lmao, Americans going to another country to see American things.
It’s not unheard of for immigrants to keep their culture close at heart.
@ssshar2176
They're not immigrants, though. They're tourists
They are just American tourist seeing some statue, they are not French Parisian living in Paris showing their city. American don't integrate with others
I mean, I'm French and I visited the Statue of Liberty in NYC 😅
You can be bicultural or multicultural which they are. Don’t assume they’re not French too.
And forget black American root with Africa like white with Europe
France 24. 5/21/24. “France backs ICC after it seeks arrest warrants for Israeli, Hamas leaders”
Because they commit crimes against civilians
Whats the bond between America and Africa? runs and hide 🏃♂👀
Slavery. Then the US set up Liberia when there was an idea floating around about sending free slaves back to Africa. More recent decades has seen the US taking millions of immigrant from all over Africa. Lots of African culture in the United States.
