Third one of these I’ve hung following your instructions. There should be a piece of paper in the box with huge lettering saying to use these instructions on UA-cam! Many thanks!
I REALLY need to thank you for walking me through an installation that was dummy proof. My previous fan had a remote that commonly fried from electrical storms from my research. A new fan was gifted to me and I really wanted to understand and do this myself. You made feel like a genius! I'm a DIY Chick and NOW a subscriber! Show me more!
I just have a quick question on the wiring of this fan so you have green to Green which is your ground then you have white to white and then you have black and blue to the black which is the hot wire but I have a red wire also what do I connect that to? Please help also thank you this video is awesome
Thanks for watching. We have to say that we are not licensed electricians and if you are unsure about the wiring, we would suggest contacting a licensed electrician to make sure wiring is connected correctly. That being said, typically, a red wire is a switch wire. If it is, there are a couple of options. 1. wire like the video and just cap off the red wire from the ceiling. 2. Connect black fan wire (fan speed power) to black house wire and the blue fan wire (light power) to the red wire. This would allow you to turn the light on/off using the switch. 3. Cap off the house black wire and connect the fan's black wire and blue wire to the red switch wire. This would allow you to turn the fan and light on/off simultaneously using the switch. Hope that helps!
You'll have to call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678 to order the replacement. Just let them know that the bowl was broken on arrival and they'll send you a replacement.
So does anyone have tips on how to connect this to Alexa? My fan came with a Bond smart remote but I can't figure out how to get it to connect with anything other than the remote.
You can just connect the ground wires from the mounting bracket and downrod. The fan doesn't have to be connected to the house ground wire, but it is good if it is.
Thanks for the question. The North Pond with the light kit included is only available in the white finish. There are a number of other finishes that do not include the light kit, but all are light kit compatible and a universal ceiling fan light kit can be easily added.
If you are referring to changing the blade finish side after the blades are installed, you just need to press down on the locking clip on the blade arm and then slide the blade toward the fan motor and then light the blade up and off ot the blade arm.
There's a pink instruction sheet that says to move the green ground wire from the hanger ball and attach it to the set screw on the side of the down rod ball. Then, place the hanger ball on the new downrod. There isn't any new downrod. The support pin won't fit in its slot if you're going to screw the green ground wire screw into the downrod. Horrible instructions
One of the better "ho 1:51 w to" videos I've seen. For sure it saved me a ton of time and agitation. The written instructions were useless.
Thank you for saving me time on the downrod removal trying to just use the instruction booklet.

We're glad to hear it helped!

@@ceilingfans101 thank you very much I have connected the blue and the red now that allows me to use the switches for light and for the fan.
My glass bowl was broken when I got the kit. Do you know what bowl I need to replace it with? Great information.
You'll have to call Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678 to order the replacement. Just let them know that the bowl was broken on arrival and they'll send you a replacement.
Would I be able to install this fan indoors is that OK
Sure, indoors is fine!
So does anyone have tips on how to connect this to Alexa? My fan came with a Bond smart remote but I can't figure out how to get it to connect with anything other than the remote.
We did a video on the Bond remote - this may help - ua-cam.com/video/1jRqtwj1xu8/v-deo.html
Any advice on what I should do if house supply wires dont have a ground wire for fan ground to connect to?
You can just connect the ground wires from the mounting bracket and downrod. The fan doesn't have to be connected to the house ground wire, but it is good if it is.
If I am installing it without a down rod where do I attach the groundwire
Hello I have a question, does this fan with the light kit included come in other finishes?
Thanks for the question. The North Pond with the light kit included is only available in the white finish. There are a number of other finishes that do not include the light kit, but all are light kit compatible and a universal ceiling fan light kit can be easily added.
@@ceilingfans101 okay but someone should tell Hampton bay to make other finishes of this fan with light kit.
Pankha
How do you switch the sides of the ceiling fan
after it is installed?
If you are referring to changing the blade finish side after the blades are installed, you just need to press down on the locking clip on the blade arm and then slide the blade toward the fan motor and then light the blade up and off ot the blade arm.
If there is a speed control switch with current fan, will it work with this fan once I replace it?
Yes, just make sure that the fan speed is set to high using the pull chain (1 pull) before using the speed control.
@@ceilingfans101 perfect, both fans were installed successfully last week with no major issue all thanks to your video! Thank you!!
@@benjaminlescot2896 That's great news! Enjoy!
You need to do wiring without the rod because the rod have a green wire. Without the rod...... NO GREEN WIRE MAN
If you are installing without the downrod, there will only be one green wire from the mounting bracket as mentioned in the video at the 11:16 mark.
The pink sheet is only if you are using an aftermarket extension downrod. If using the included downrod, you don't have to remove the ball at all.
