It all sounds the same (except for that last song; Midnight Highway). No catchy melodies and no story to tell; like She's Gone, and there's no volume variations: every song is played at the same volume. If you listen to how SRV constructed his albums, you will note that he never put two songs back-to-back that were in the same key or had the same rhythm, or were at the same volume. This method showcases each song by buttressing it with two completely different songs; one on either side. And if he didn't have original music on hand to do this, then he'd throw in covers that didn't share the same key or time signature or rhythm or volume. So, you'd get something like Shake For Me next to a song like Lenny. SRV was an excellent rhythm guitarist and an excellent arranger as well as being a bear on lead.
Followed him since he was six years old. He is as good as anyone in the business. Played with Carlos Santana joe banamasse etc. Spelt wrong I know. Love his smooth style of play. Live ya Quinn
IMO Quinn is going to become one of the greatest guitarists of all time and this is a fantastic band. Thanks Mike for sharing this video and allow us who live in Italy to watch you live.
Hope I'm still alive when this kid gets a little older and his voice matures and deepens just a bit. He is damn good now but give him a couple of more years.
That was amazing! I was hooked into “Let it Rain” and had to watch the whole concert; what a great band- and incredibly talented guitarist/singer Quinn Sullivan is! This is some old school guitar playing, the tempos and key changes weaving in and out with the changing of each song, and the four different guitars that enhanced those arrangements.Bravo!!
I love seeing young musicians grow their talent into magic masters, which is what music and this young man have in common. They both transport me as if by magic..😑
Discovered Quinn a couple weeks ago when I searched Buddy Guy on YT, I’ve been watching every YT video of this kid since and stumbled on this today. Quinn you’ve mastered it! I’m so thrilled to see talent like this!! Great show! Fantastic!!!
Greatest rendition of BLACK NAPKINS I've ever heard anywhere, anytime. No kidding....This kid kicks major ass. Quinn your the best of the best....keep kicking.
I noticed he's been ripping this one to shreds for a couple of years now. Check out his gig at Sellersville Theater in 2017. He plays it on his 335, not quite as sharp a sound but also a great job.
Quinn is amazing. There's hope music kind. Real and authentic playing in a four piece band. Doing stuff I have hardly heard during my 58 years on this planet. He was in the Netherlands in 2016 with Buddy Guy. He should come over again afther this Covid-19 mess is over.
Would loved to have seen it. Could we have a budding younger version of joe bonnamassa here? I've seen a lot of guitar players in a lot of small clubs but never one like this, guess I need to go to daryl's house. Say what you will...he knows his way around the fret board very well. Last song "midnight highway" seems reminiscent of the allman bros, marshall tucker, dickie betts, etc from that time.
He sounded a bit like the old Carlos with that SG ... great tone, and he has definitely has been influenced by Derek Trucks with that finger style technique, just awesome. Quinn's playing has really matured, great to see him develop his own sound, look forward to his future adventures in music.
Totally. I went through all the usual suspects in my mind to figure out what it was (Jeff Beck, Roy Harper), since no one except DZ plays it, before it hit me that it was Frank's Black Napkins. Golly. What a combo of Allman Bros, FZ, JB, and who knows who else is to come in such a young lad. Wouldn't be surprised if he did a Towshend windmill in there and piled into Who Are You (he didn't, alas).
Hey: 31-year music industry professional here. Elvis, Frank Sinatra, even the Beatles covered songs written by other people. It’s a strange misconception that someone isn’t legit if they don’t write their own songs. Audiences like performances and emotion; they don’t think about that stuff. This young man is writing his own material, btw. Personally I think that some of his songs are great! I may even approach him about working together. I’ve just only recently found about Quinn.
We share something in common. We have both stood a foot away from Buddy Guy. I was an audience member, about 35 years ago and Buddy was wandering the audience with a cordless. Looking back is how I came across Mr. Sullivan. Yea, he can play some heavy shit!
I think he is forcing his music to be relevant. I worked with Joe Satriani many times. He is a great performer and watching him play is incredible, but without a live performance, his music is flat unless you are an upcoming guitar player.
Some people are just born to music;) long live ROCK
Really love Quinn Sullivan. Excellent musician, singer, performer, entertainer. Excellent.
So great to hear a former prodigy who grew into a mature, well-rounded, adult artist.
Best young guitarist I have heard in a long while.
Since Johnny Lang
How can somebody dislike this concert? I just don't understand... It is just excellent!!

You are the reason people are deciding not to have kids these days
And all of a sudden, the future of Rock looks just fine. Wow! And the voice to match. Great to see!
Yeah, Mike Benj on Drums, BUT also Charles Berthoud on Bass. Amazing lineup.
Followed him since he was six years old. He is as good as anyone in the business. Played with Carlos Santana joe banamasse etc. Spelt wrong I know. Love his smooth style of play. Live ya Quinn
I'd love to see Quinn and John Mayer go at it together. Two stellar musicians. 😊

My, my, my, Quinn brought me here, but listen to that Benj....

Been a huge Quinn fan for years. First time I've tripped over this show.
Mike and Charles are new to me, but TIGHT! Fantastic. Just tremendous.
Hey Quinn! This is exactly what I've been waiting for since "Ellen"! 💯👋😎

FZ would have approved this Newest Black Napkins from Quinn’s band. He has never played it better than this .

Wonderful stuff!
Quinn Come back to Daryl's House.
Amazing !!
Quinn.... Start writing your own stuff and you'll be able to fill Madison Square Garden some day. Great talent.
He is writing his own stuff. You really need to check out his albums (all four of them).
he's a great writer

@@tekis0 If you don't, someone else will. :)
@@timchalmers1700 Yeah, thanks for the suggestion.
I will wait to see what this leads to, wow.
Hey Bulldog … amazing!

Increíble punteo, después del minuto 10.00 del video clip , superr , superrr
Killer 👍🏽😎🐸 Hey Bulldog. 🤔
That's straight up pitbull between strings and sticks . THANK All pro
Great as always I see that the keyboard player has had a hair cut
You do what some drummers do on 10 drums on your 4 drums
Where is the song list?
👍🔥🎸🦅
How is this song called at 29:35?
Hey Bulldog - The Beatles
Wide awake has a kinda Old Neil Young Crazy Horse vibe.
Why does love gotta be so sad
Does this come in better quality? mine is saying only 360p
He sounds like Clapton
Sounds better! This dude is so gifted! Buddy Guy did him soild bringing him into the top tier of the guitar 🎸 scene 👏
Don't insult the kid.
Dose he have new drummer and bass player ?
He is probably one of the most talented musicians on the planet, but his music is in neutral.
Do you not like his new album ?
I think he is forcing his music to be relevant. I worked with Joe Satriani many times. He is a great performer and watching him play is incredible, but without a live performance, his music is flat unless you are an upcoming guitar player.
where was Daryl?
Id like to see him play along side Quinn
Couldn’t keep up
In the pocket drumming
clapton clone?
Need a lead singer too, because guitar compares to jimmy page.....the guitar is so great.
he is a great singer ????
Worst audience ever! That was a great show!!
Quinn..............................you need a manager?Folks, you don't want this kid opening for you.
