Traditions would be a great topic for an episode! Would love to hear about your traditions growing up and the ones have kept or created, ones you’ve participated in of others, etc. Love the pod!
A tradition in my family is to trick all the kids into believing Festivus is a real holiday we celebrate (the fake Xmas-like holiday from Seinfeld) it’s hilarious 😅😂
Carly seems like such a great friend to have. The way she listens and understands whoever is talking just seems so genuine ❤ reminds me a lot of my best friend. Love you all, keep up the great work!
My favourite parts of the pod: 1. Carly: *talking about an elevator cable being cut* "A pirate!" lol 2. Matt: *walking in an alley way* "Excuse me, are you okay? Dead." 3. Matt practicing the 911 call "Yes ma'am" and "But then do you have to stay with the body? Can I go?" 4. "It's like a damn Dr. Suess book. She was on a walk in a sock in a croc and it gave her a shock." 5. Erin: "What about fiberglass?" Matt: "I just try to avoid touching fiberglass WTF?" 6. Carly: "Then you get framed for murder but you can't say you were at sea world" Love you guys and the podcast!! Also Erin I totally relate with the snake toilet fear lmao
Erin’s hair literally looks so healthy like the hair commercials lol she needs to post a hair care video if she has one, I wouldn’t be surprised if her hair is naturally like that I’m obsessed 💗💗💗
no idea what this says about me but I laughed out loud the MOST during this episode! such a nice flow of conversation and great little one liners and bits.
My irrational fear is that the grudge is going to pull me into the gap between couch cushions 😂 so I have to be sitting on the cushion and can’t be sitting on the gaps lol Don’t watch scary movies at a young age, people
I have an irrational fear of mascots too, but mostly cuz they make me think that ANYONE could wear it and they could be like a murderer or something hiding until they have a good chance to do what they’re planning 😂😂
My irrational fear as a child was that the washing machine was going to explode every time the spin cycle started 💀 I ran outside every time the house started to shake 😂
that’s so crazy that one of matt’s irrational fears is finding out abt a secret sibling bc that happened to my step sister. she was a teen when she found out she had a 12 year old half sister from an affair her dad had. didn’t realize that was a somewhat common occurrence. also my irrational fear is getting a paper cut between my fingers anytime i deal with paper.
I love this Podcast - your energy together is great! Not to take away from everyone, because you all are great, but Matt King on any podcast is always a good time. He is such a great co host
omg same Matt!!! i have a fear of whales like i will deadass start thinking of a whale while im showering and will start freaking out idk what it is bc i knowww a whale isn’t going to appear but anytime im in water or around water i just get so much anxiety about whales
I cannot put into words how prepared I am to come upon a dead body. Because I’m always thinking they’re there somewhere. Went for a walk yesterday and was checking the underbrush. Driving on a highway, I’m looking at the ditches…ALWAYS VIGILANT.
The reason that some buildings don’t have a 13th floor is because it’s used for structural purposes in skyscrapers. If a building is over a certain number of stories they use the 13th floor for extra support and it’s just filled with concrete and steel beams. I learned this in one of my architecture classes this year and it blew my mind.
I have the fear with the toilet too, I have to check every single time because I have severe arachnophobia. My boyfriend and I also have Trypophobia, (the fear of holes/the pattern of holes), I also have a fear of clowns, black toilet seats, vents above toilets, vents in swimming pools AND black lines in pools (the lines that separate the lanes) or the little lines of boyes too. Too many fears ahhh!
Ugh that happened to me! We accidentally found a dead body. We all left the bar, went to jump the fence that leads to the woods that has a short cut home, when we jumped the fence my buddy landed on the other side first… and there was a deceased body. We called the cops, we we detained for questioning until 5 am. Due to my Buddy having blood on his sole from jumping the fence first and landing in the blood, we were considered suspects at first. It was a homeless man who had been attacked but it took HOURS to clear our name. And sooo sad and scarring. Especially… we were not in the best state of mind to begin with.
When I was working for my university, I use to take a “rotating never-stopping” elevator every single day. They are called paternosters, my campus was famous for having one in the big towering building. It is fricking scary when you first use it but pretty convenient to hop off different floor throughout the day.
I was stuck in a hotel elevator with 25 people at a hotel in Tampa. The fire department had to pry the door open. We were stuck between two floors and we had to be pulled out of the elevator.
My irrational fear is crickets 😩 idk why, idk when it started, but as long as I can remember, they have been my BIGGEST fear!! I have put my fiancé, family & friends through some insane situations just because of this fear 😂
During the COVID lockdown, rats came up all the toilets at my office because no one was in the building to flush the toilets. There was rat poop everywhere. 😳
I didnt realize how many irrational fears I have until watching this 😂 Like, A shark in the swimming pool when im the only one in the pool. Or thinking a killer is going to get me only while im in the shower 😂 Lol
I don't like cotton balls either. The squeaky-ness 😰 ahh I can't stand it. Just thinking about it gives me shivers. Even if I use a Q-tip, if it's dry it will make me gag. My ears have to be wet if I'm going to use one lol My other irrational fear is something ripping my Bellybutton Ring out 😫 That scene from that one movie of the girl ripping the other girls belly ring out.. scared me. I think it was called "The Roommate" or something. But I'm scared of it getting caught on something or someone just deciding to yank it. I take it out before I shower because I've gotten it caught on my loofah before and will never chance that again. I now wear a ring type that just snaps closed, so it doesn't get caught on things as much as the other types or the dangling ones. I hated when those would get caught on clothing or something! The ring would just pop open before anything could happen lol I'm kinda causing my own pain in this situation, but I've had the piercing for over 10 years now & I know it's irrational, so I still wear it. I'm scared of other jewelry getting caught on things too, like machinery, and it takes my whole hand with it 😬 But the thought of the belly ring is what gets me the most lol
My irrational fears are of the Above the Influence commercials, particularly of the one with the girl who is flat on the couch, then the accordion looking girl in her pink room, then that really intense loud compilation of smoking commercials, then it pans to an old man who can barely breathe on a wheelchair in an all white room. 😩
I was triggered when water slides were mentioned. Being in any enclosed space for an extended period of time is a fear of mine. Elevators, planes at night, watersides.....I feel like I have zero knowledge of where I'm at and I could be stuck in that place forever. Just in a big loop.
Carly's parents were definitely in witness protection...I mean c'mon! An Italian girl in Nebraska and then they retire to Vegas?? Totally obvious! (I'm kidding of course, but it'd be a funny conspiracy theory to start)
i’m scared of escalators AND elevators. huge book lover. The closest Barnes & Noble near me is two stories. guess how you get to the second floor? Yep an escalator or the elevator. Luckily they just remodeled and I don’t need to go to the second floor anymore lmaoooo
my cousin got his shoe laces stuck in the escalator at universal in CA in like 2003, he was a lil traumatized but fine and we got flash passes for the rides that day
this episode made me cry laughing!! esp on the irrational fear of jeSUS especially as someone who studied in a christian school up until junior high. cant wait for the next!!
I've been terrified of house fires ever since i was a little kid and our next door neighbour's house burned to the ground one night. I also HATE ventriloquist dummies, i can't even look at them. CREEPY AS FUCK
On the topic of Matt’s fear of finding a dead body, I have a fear of seeing/witnessing something that will change me forever. So like finding a dead body, seeing a bad car accident, witnessing someone getting critically injured in any way, etc
Im scared of losing my hearing. I've always had ear infections and never had insurance to get my tonsils out (which is the source of that problem) and even woke up one day with muffled hearing. I've had my ears clean plenty of times but always by professionals and one day I know that I won't be able to afford it and it'll get so bad to the point I can't hear
I’ve been scared of elevators since I saw a video of some people in an elevator during a storm and it stopped working and flooded and the water was up to their neck
Mike I also have an elevator fear. And once when I was going to a doctors appointment with my baby I didn’t want to leave the stroller on the ground floor so I took the elevator AND IT STOPPED BETWEEN FLOORS. Like opened the door with only a foot of space showing the floor I was supposed to be on. I have never panicked so much in my life and it was in one of those tiny European elevators where the stroller barely even fit to begin with 🥴 luckily I pressed the button and it closed and went up fully but that was so terrifying. I will always take the stairs if the destination is less than 10 floors up.
Matt, I had someone steal money from the retailer we worked for under my register sign on. They stole close to 20k over a few months, always using my sign on. I was called into the office to be interviewed by police, they were grilling me and I had to show them all my cards I’ve never felt so panicked in my life because I had no idea how I could prove it wasn’t me Eventually they confirmed they believed me, that they got a confession from the other girl and I was fine
When I was in college I worked at Urban Outfitters near UCLA and got stuck in the elevator after the store closed by myself. I had my phone and all my coworkers were still inside the store so I could tell them where I was but I was stuck for an hour and a half roughly. They paid me for the entire time I was in the elevator though so I'd say good experience overall
When I was younger my Aunt was in her apartment and her upstairs neighbor was cleaning his gun and it went off and she was shot and sadly passed away. Another time we were away on vacation and my sister stayed back and found a bullet in the master bedroom. Someone shot off a gun and it came through our roof and bounced on the pillow my dad sleeps on at night. We still have the bullet hole in the ceiling (got the roof redone though) Also, I have a ton of irrational fears, rollercoasters, sharks in closed water, something come out of the toilet, etc.
My best friends mom was waiting for an elevator on a 5th floor, the elevator comes to her floor, she’s not paying attention, walks in and immediately falls down 5 stories. Turns out the elevator never actually came to her floor. - my new irrational fear
and omg erin I am the same way about medication too!!!! literally wont take meds that are supposed to make me feel better because im scared that theyll kill me LOL
Traditions would be a great topic for an episode! Would love to hear about your traditions growing up and the ones have kept or created, ones you’ve participated in of others, etc. Love the pod!

4. "It's like a damn Dr. Suess book. She was on a walk in a sock in a croc and it gave her a shock."

Had to pause to crack up at Carly calling Matt corny lmaooo
I thought of this comment when I had to pause to laugh when Matt thought Carly was talking about 17 again when she said 23 and me 😂😂😂
Erin’s hair literally looks so healthy like the hair commercials lol she needs to post a hair care video if she has one, I wouldn’t be surprised if her hair is naturally like that I’m obsessed 💗💗💗
Carly’s ad libs make me laugh out loud. I love that girl
no idea what this says about me but I laughed out loud the MOST during this episode! such a nice flow of conversation and great little one liners and bits.

Matt I’m with you about cotton balls I was having goosebumps the whole time y’all talked about them!!
Loving the pod, it’s so easy to listen to! This one was my fave so far. Couldn’t stop laughing
My irrational fear is that the grudge is going to pull me into the gap between couch cushions 😂 so I have to be sitting on the cushion and can’t be sitting on the gaps lol Don’t watch scary movies at a young age, people

Every episode is so good but this episode was so freaking hilarious 😂😂 I was cackling the whole time. Love it
My most irrational fear is sharks in swimming pools 😂
I recently started watching every episode in random order. This is one of the last ones I have to watch and BY FAR the funniest
I’m with Mike, I Love Escalators!!! ❤️

Erin saying Lil Jeezus 😭😭😂
erin looks so gorgeous in that green top, that shade is beautiful

Thought Matt was making a friends reference when he said fear of triskets because that was exactly taking from a friends episode
okay right off the bat your shirts are making your eyes pop. especially Erin YES

I didnt realize how many irrational fears I have until watching this 😂 Like, A shark in the swimming pool when im the only one in the pool. Or thinking a killer is going to get me only while im in the shower 😂 Lol
These are also some of my fears lol the shark is major though…even in a bathtub I’ll think about them and freak myself out 😂😭
