Your "you can feel bad for someone who does bad things" gives similar vibes to "disagreement does not equal hate" and I'm 100% here for it. Just because you feel some type of way for someone (that's a heart thing, not a romance thing obvi) doesn't automatically mean you agree with or condone their actions; just like disagreeing with someone doesn't mean you hate them - and I love that someone said it.

Ok true story. I used to work in a daycare, and one of the girls ( 4ish) was in foster care and the parents were trying to adopt her. This poor girl was so abused by her BiO parents. She would get terrified if she ever misbehaved, it was so sad. Anyways she was finally adopted, and the next day they came in and said we are to now to call her Bailey (not actually name, but obviously for privacy reasons) Anyways this little angel actually adapted to her new name easier than we did. Her new parents are amazing people, and they said for safety reasons they changed her name because BIO parents were very bad people. The adoptive parents couldn't have children so they adopted a few more kids. They actually ended up miraculously having a biological child of their own. This was over 20 years ago and I recently saw them, and this little angel has grown into such a beautiful sweet young lady. Anyways just wanted to share with you that yes, names can be changed. Lol. Btw her mom said she doesn't remember her first name.. she didn't remember me either.

Except many hotels that would qualify as motels under that description are called hotels in their name... So it's still not always clear. And seems to depend on where you're located. South Memphis, 3rd St, near where I'm from has a ton of motels that would fall under this but 40 minutes North into AR you might find nicer establishments that also meet that qualification & they're called hotels. 🤷

As a kid that was adopted it’s actually very common for parents to change the kids name because a lot of the time the parents were a danger to them so it helps to keep their identity a secret and to not be able to be contacted by the parents again. Also a lot of the kids choose to have their name changed because legally they have to receive a new birth certificate so it is offered to every parent/child to do the name change and to receive all new identification paperwork :)

I totally think the adoptive mom was totally guilty. He “accidentally” shot at her when he was younger and she didn’t say why or what happened. I’m sure it was because she was molesting him and he was sick of it and then she manipulated him into saying it was an accident. The fact that he kidnapped a young child also is a red flag that something was going on with him. Happens too often where the abused become the abuser. I think he should’ve gotten life in prison because he is obviously unsafe but death is a bit much.

@@Amberelam97 they didn't say all, they said it happens too often, and I agree as a victim of child-on-child sa. I didn't become violent and I haven't continued the cycle, but kids don't have those thoughts out of nowhere. The kid that messed with me had probably been sa'd by an adult. And to this day, I still feel shame and guilt over what happened even though I hadn't even hit puberty and was far from being able to give consent.

It also still affects me to this day, and I worry over the shame and guilt, especially for never saying anything. Now I feel like I can never tell anyone because it happened when I was 6-7. I'm now in my 20s, and I'm afraid of how it would be received by relatives because the kid was a family member, who is very much still a part of my life. It's crazy because I often wonder what had been done to him as a kid that even gave him the idea to do the things he did to me

Same, among other things. I do what I can, but I am always in pain. So, Bailey's videos and others like them (Mr. Ballen, anyone?) give me a great distraction when I can't get up/out because of my illnesses. I love the true crime channels, as well as the paranormal ones the most. Sometimes I like to watch fun stuff, too. Laughter definitely helps distract me. When I can't sleep, I put on one of the scary story channels and it really helps. Oh, Lani's comment about the carnivore diet may be true for some. I have a lot of digestive issues and meat is difficult for me to digest. Plus, I really have a hard time eating anything that had a face, so I'm vegetarian/part time vegan. (I have no issues with other people eating meat. I'm not a militant vegan or anything lol). I still have to be careful because some foods just trigger me. I really appreciate the strength you show by being vulnerable. Not only do you get up every morning and survive, you work hard to put together stories that will engage and captivate us enough to help us through our days. (With many sacrifices I'm sure.) On top of that, I really appreciate how you speak to the camera like you are just gossiping with a friend over coffee. For those of us struggling with connections, you've done such a fantastic job creating a connection that welcomes us in with humour, humility, and facts. So much love and respect. Miigwech.

The reason prisoners are let out for a short time, is to help with them being institutionalised . It helps with almost training them to connect with society again & it's been proven to reduce reoffending rates (sometimes when long term prisoners are suddenly released, it's too much of a shock & they commit any crime they can in order to be imprisoned again sadly)

I, too have laughed in a VERY inappropriate situation. Long ago, my church choir was singing at a VERY high profile funeral for a town big-wig’s wife. I got very nervous being on display for the entire duration of the funeral, and I got the giggles. I know it sounds really bad. But it hapoened. The girl next to me kept elbowing me and telling me to stop, because I was giving HER the giggles, and some people started to stare at us. Long story short, it was a very uncomfortable situation. Very. I just love you, Bailey. Please do BTK. Please?

When I was adopted around 8yo, my sisters and I got to change our middle names. We got to pick our own, and I chose Emirie bc I liked the name Emily but also didn't want to change it too much from my original middle name of Marie bc I felt bad about it. When I got back in contact with my bio dad when I was 18, he saw my license and that the middle initial was now E instead of M and was heartbroken. I still felt bad about it when I had my daughter a couple years later so I gave her the middle name of Ann-Marie, a combination of my bio mothers middle name and my birth middle name. Just wanted to share on the topic of name changes during adoption, sorry

It’s so crazy that you say that! I was looking up programs for my adult cousin. She’s developmentally delayed. She lives in a small town and doesn’t drive. She’s very isolated now that she is out of school and doesn’t qualify for young adult programs. It makes her act out and depressed. She needs to be able to socialize with individuals like her and make friends or learn a skill that can help her feel useful and like she is part of society. I was furious, because there were none in her area. I found ONE cool one and it’s so expensive. I’m a teacher, so it really hit home for me, not just because it’s a family member but also because of all my students who will be on the same boat later. I kept stressing how these kids won’t stay kids forever. They will eventually grow up and need services. It made me sad and so infuriated at the same time. We’ve always shown her a lot of love and love spoiling her, but I know she needs a weekday program and to socialize. I keep researching and hoping to find something but it’s frustrating!
