You give him a little support and then he realizes it's time to fix himself. He takes his ass to therapy, he gets himself hobbies, he starts investing in Jas and Marnie's happiness. We don't know his whole backstory but the hints we do have are dark enough to send anyone spiraling. It takes a hell of a lot to pull yourself out of that place, and while I wish he was written a little more mindfully in regard to alcohol, I also appreciate that it's never implied that his depression is cured overnight or that the farmer is the one who "fixed" him. All of that being said I'd drop his ass in a heartbeat if Robin ever got divorced.
I'm not married to Shane but I love his attitude once he gets rehabbed, I would complain about his shitty room but let's be honest, my room is a total mess too, so i love that dude. 🦆

From the start I fell in love with sebastians smile and wanted to see it as often as I can. He still is the only spouse I ever chose. Except for being roommates with krobus.
The description for Harvey is 100% true at least for me I chose him because despite the fact that he is anxious, he remains calm and enjoys his passion outside of his work, he is someone who is quite simple and attentive (even if he only talks about medicine almost constantly these ends of sentences always say that we matter to him and I find that cute) there is no complication with him from the start He is nice and literally only asks for cups of coffee and he loves planes ( I also have model airplanes😂)

Honestly as an Elliot enthusiast, thank you for not calling us either ‘dramatic’, ‘theatre kid’ or ‘Wattpad/AO3 reader’ (even though I fit two of those categories but shhh). I chose Elliot because I enjoyed his character, gotta admit, at first when I played SV, I thought he was LONEY ugly XD. But after playing the game more and learning more about his character (through videos on youtube) I started to enjoy his character and that he likes to write poems and make them into a living. It’s something similar to me, I like to write stories for fun but I also do think I’d like to make it into a living, or at least maybe a book illustrator since I like to draw, and I just find it easy to connect with him :D. would love to see your take on the outsiders of the NPCs... like the wizard, Linus, Gunther and the others. like yes, we've talked about the wizard's "wandering wand" problem and which kid may have been the his little "patronus" as a result... but there's something going on with him and Linus. they have Both used the line, "people are afraid of things they don't understand," when referring to the townspeople and their interactions with them. and during the autumn/Halloween fest, we can see them hanging out together. as well as during the ice fest, Linus has his igloo Conveniently in the way of the wizard's place so we can't go talk to him. it's almost like he's being a tiny bit of a Renfield to the wizard's Dracula. and where does Gunther sleep? the library/museum doesn't appear to have a secondary room like other townsfolk's places do. and is it kind of weird that he Kind of seems like he's the wizard in disguise? i don't know, just a weird vibe i get from them both. and i don't think i've ever seen them together.
I normally have multiple spouses in the following order: Sebastian, Abigail, Hailey, Elliot, the wizard (expanded), the pink haired girl (expanded) and Krokus (Krokus varies depending on my playthrough) Edit: I meant krobus idk why auto correct did that, also I forgot about Leah. As someone who genuinely loves Elliott, Haley and Shane, I'm sick and tired of people unnecessarily hating on them or people who like them. Your commentary here was very well thought out and spot-on. With my Stardew journey, in the beginning I hated the controls so badly on my switch lite, that I literally quit after 10 seconds for a year or two. This year I decided to try it again, because I hadn’t given the gave a fair chance, and people were actually having fun with it. After taking the time to learn the controls so I wouldn’t get frustrated each time, I slowly learned and began to love it. And I’m in the process of wooing my first hubby, Elliot. I love him because one…THAT LONG HAIR ❤, and two, like me, wants to be a writer. I find him as such a sweet and interesting NPC, and I adore him. I have him at 10 hearts now, and I have the bridal shirt because I got the main artifact fan early game, just took some more time to get the cloth needed. Now I’m waiting to determine when I want to get married to him, either in the spring, or in the fall since it’s my birthday month and we sadly don’t get to have our birthday celebrated in the game. The game really reminds me of harvest moon which was something I grew up with and adored on the DS. I still have the black 3DS and white DS, I might have a second white DS somewhere with some games. 😊 I’m glad I changed my mind and played it again….but now I’m addicted 😂

Sebastian, Abigail, Hailey, Elliot, the wizard (expanded), the pink haired girl (expanded) and Krokus (Krokus varies depending on my playthrough)

The ending, I can not!!! 😂 This was so refreshing in comparison to other videos in that vein. As someone who genuinely loves Elliott, Haley and Shane, I'm sick and tired of people unnecessarily hating on them or people who like them. Your commentary here was very well thought out and spot-on. I definitely recognized myself and my loved ones who are fellow players of this game in your descriptions. Personally, I love giving every single one of these NPCs a shot at one point since they deserve it and it's so interesting to me as a longtime player and lover of this game to follow their routes. Yet, why does Haley keep calling to me and wanting me to marry her again, almost every new save I create?

I usually pick Sebastian or Elliott to be my spouse. I'm more drawn to Sebastian though. My first ever spouse was Elliott. I find the sea really beautiful so I could see him and I bonding over that. Thanks for the kind analysis. I was surprised a bit. People seem to get really passionate about what characters they like and don't like, myself included.

My favorite spouse's are Hailey and Eliott idk why but the other feel either a little to young for my taste (like sam or Abigail), better as friends (like Shane or Emily) or are just bland (like Harvey and Maru).
I don't hate anny of the spouse, but we can agree that a lot of them kinda stop with their life after you marry them and juist become a stay-at-home parents

Sebastian and Sam are the two that I always find the most difficult to choose between.
With my Stardew journey, in the beginning I hated the controls so badly on my switch lite, that I literally quit after 10 seconds for a year or two. This year I decided to try it again, because I hadn’t given the gave a fair chance, and people were actually having fun with it. After taking the time to learn the controls so I wouldn’t get frustrated each time, I slowly learned and began to love it. And I’m in the process of wooing my first hubby, Elliot. I love him because one…THAT LONG HAIR ❤, and two, like me, wants to be a writer. I find him as such a sweet and interesting NPC, and I adore him. I have him at 10 hearts now, and I have the bridal shirt because I got the main artifact fan early game, just took some more time to get the cloth needed. Now I’m waiting to determine when I want to get married to him, either in the spring, or in the fall since it’s my birthday month and we sadly don’t get to have our birthday celebrated in the game. The game really reminds me of harvest moon which was something I grew up with and adored on the DS. I still have the black 3DS and white DS, I might have a second white DS somewhere with some games. 😊 I’m glad I changed my mind and played it again….but now I’m addicted 😂
