I used to use the Albright, this is a bit more complex and a haggle to tie on the water but it makes casting so much better, the knot just flies through the guides effortlessly making casts so much farther!
I have watched a lot of vids on this knot with hit and miss results when putting it into practice. But I found your style very easy to follow. Yeah other blokes do it different ways and it may be cleaner/smoother. All I want is the fish that's trying to towel me up to stay connected. 🎣👍🏻🍻
@@Broznannn Several half hitches around leader and braid then a 4 turn lock around both. Then just a 4 turn lock just on the braid. People do this general method sometimes with variations in the number of turns and number of hitches. Theres nothing actually wrong with doing a risouto, its just its no stronger or smoother.
@@markrigg6623 If you half hitch it, eventually with casting they will start to pick apart even if you glue them, the rissouto prevents that as the knot end is protected.
I tried it but it failed one time bc you have to pull the main leader and main line as hard as you can to change the color of the braid that wrapped to the leader
theres no way the way this example.is tied with all those half hitches at the end is slimmer and smoother fhan a well tied double uni. FGs are the best knots but only when they are tied and fi ished off properly. Otherwise stick with a double uni tied properly instead of this spaghetti bowl.

@@biilybutt9016 I do a couple of half hitches then a 4 turn hitch which doesn't come undone. Just a bit quicker.
Look up briggsy fishing fg knot it’s a lot neater

no it wont break i used those knot on tuna and gts but go bigger on braids and leader if your going to fish for 50kg fish
I do mine with everything lose it’s just as strong and takes less time

Same, many say you must keep the pressure but the key factor is forming the criss cross so that the braid can act like the Chinese finger trap.
