bro your a great cameraman very informative video late 1890's huh that's such a long time ago. such a cool video keep up the great work hope to see more neat stuff from you soon man :)
Before being able to listen to this video, I found an article in the Knoxville paper about the opening of this mall and it seems you found the exact same article I did based on the details you gave about the opening and original tenants. :) I don't think I've seen a mall like this one, which seems to be a strip mall with the covered area in front of the stores enclosed.
Nice find with this one. Reminds me of some of the hallway malls up here in Pennsylvania.
Also, at 1:26 I think you mean I-75. :D
Gah! You're right, dangit I haven't had a mistake in my videos until now!
I've never seen a mall that looks like this one. Really interesting, ty for documenting it!

Good video mall 🦊 well thought out.
What a fun find! I, too, have kicked myself for not filming some little hallway.

My parents took us there the opening day I remember they had giveaways and live radio broadcast.
Great Video! What were those two department stores you mentioned that were at this mall?
I dont know anything about what they sold, but they were Lays Department Store, Baloff's Department Store, and AJs Variety Store.
@@TheMallFoxBalloffs were good friends of my grandfather. My grandfather had a department store on Main Street in Lafollette.
The movie theater (now demolished), Pizza Hut, and gas station were across the street.
Yo I live a few minutes away from there lol! Going tonight!
The Woodsons logo is the Viacom V of Doom on a shopping cart, except it's a W.
How you been?
Life has been really hectic recently to be honest, but we push forward.
@@TheMallFox ok yes keep going :)
