6:00 When I went to Carowinds I was surprised at how far in every direction you can see intimidator and fury. I saw fury poking over the horizon when I was still 10 minutes away.
Kings Dominion is basically completely hidden.
yep, you literally cant see anything except the crest of I305 through the trees, but then when you get to the parking lot it opens up and you can see everything
I want to get down there SO BAD!! It's ridiculous that I'm a cedar fair platinum pass holder, and haven't been down there yet! In 19, we had made plans for 20 to take a trip and hit Dorny, KD, BGW, and maybe go down and hit Carowinds before we left for home. Then 20 happened, and..... well you know. Hopefully next year I can finally get to a cedar fair park other than Kings Island, and Cedar Point.
I mean at least it’s kings island and cedar point. All I have in Iowa is Adventureland and lost island

Reptilian's color scheme looks amazing and it fits in with the area so much better than when it was Avalanche. I always thought it was weird that there was a snow-themed coaster right next to a volcano lol

Grizzly may not be the best ride at kings dominion, but it definitely has the BEST crew in any park.
Grizzly is massivly underrated!

@@williambush406 oh I’m aware. And it’s *still* not the best in the park. I haven’t been able to ride it yet, but with the amount of charm the ride has, I may actually rank it above dominator which would make it 3rd best imo.

We were at KD last Monday and Tuesday... there was almost no one at the park. It was so awesome. We didn't wait in a line for two entire days. We also got the craziest 4D ride ever. It was spinning like a teacup ride, lol.
On a side note, we haven't ridden Twisted Timbers since opening season when we had a platinum pass and it felt like a totally different ride. It felt SO MUCH faster than before. That ejector airtime might be up there with the strongest I have felt. That was absolutely nuts. I think that ejector force is in Skyrush territory at this point. What happened?

So, went to KD first time in late July. Loved the place, much more than I thought. Grizzly was backbreaking rough (I thought I'd need a back brace afterwards), but I think it has really good bones with a variety of fun elements. At any rate, much MUCH better than its west coast namesake. A decent retrack would improve the heck out of it.
I-305 - had three rides. First two were in the morning before it got blazing hot and while I was still fresh - awesome rides. Then I got back on in the PM, and I blacked out cold at the first turn. Completely disoriented and terrified. OMG. First time ever.
Twisted Timbers - what can I say except it is virtually a perfect ride.
A beautiful park. You have a superb home park, Taylor and Sarah. Here in the SF Bay area, all I can do is be jealous and wish.

I almost can't believe you got off Grizzly not complaining, even more that you went twice. I did see the yellow train behind you, I got a much better ride maybe 5 weeks ago on it, so maybe they put round wheels on or something, but that thing has been absolutely brutal most of the year with no detectable signs of retracking whatsoever.
Grizzly is the most underrated coaster at KD, IMO
I was also suprised, the only rownits not bad in is the front, every other seat is brutal

I went to Kings Dominion on Tuesday for the first time in 7 years. The park was empty, and nearly every ride was a walk on!! Which was great considering I live in Utah and very rarely go to Virginia. Also Twisted Timbers was my first RMC ever!! Way more aggressive then I expected, but loved the twisty smoothness!!
I went on i305 yesterday for the first time, and it is easily my number 1. I305 honestly did a better job of being Skyrush than Skyrush.
I305 is better at everything compared to Skyrush except for the airtime.
@@mr.noride7226 They felt pretty on par in terms of airtime. The drop on skyrush only gave me a small pop of airtime, so it was only the three camelbacks that gave me air. I305 has an airtime filled first drop, camelback, snaps, two slightly trimmed airtime hills giving sustained flojector airtime, and the snap into the brake run gives a violent pop of ejector airtime.

I have and will always be eternally grateful that I305 is 20 minutes from my house. (20 minutes on a good day, usually 30, sometimes 45 or 60, you know how I-95 is.)

Imagine growing up at a home park for 20 years and not knowing the real manufacturer for one of their coasters.
I just went to Kings Dominion for the first time Tuesday. I thought Grizzly was the roughest wood coaster I've ever ridden fealt like it was on a gravel rock track. One point it banged really hard on something.

Just was at KD a few weeks ago and the twisted timbers lockers were messed up then too. It gave me a locker but after the ride it didn't recognize my birthday or symbol. Spent 20 minutes with ride op trying to find my stuff. Nightmare.

I’ve only been to one cedar fair park, which is Dorney Park. It’s a real shame that I never been to Kings Dominion. Seems like such an amazing park. It’s like 6 hours away from me. Maybe just maybe, I’ll go next summer, I wonder how good the other cedar fair parks are because I liked Dorney Park, but people say it’s the the weakest cedar fair park. If that is the weakest, I can’t imagine how fun the other parks are.

Even with the tree removal for Hurler, Grizzly night rides are amazing, but they used to be way better, pre-Hurler. And so glad someone called out on the Mack/Intamin mistake. Sorry not sorry!!
Sarah, it sucks, but when a necessary retrack costs 12 million dollars (the number for the Colossos at Heide Park’s retrack):

Maybe plan a trip to liseberg to ride a prefab that is actually cared for by management.
I love the Six Flags hate on this one. Everyone seems to forget how bad Colossos got before they retracked it.
If you are going to spend that kind of money on a retrack, you are better off just doing an RMC treatment.

I was honestly getting worried about Jen and her increasingly horrible looking sunburn.
i dont get it this park has a better top 3 than carowinds and a top 4 on par and then carowinds after that is a bunch of coasters ranging from mediocre to aweful and after kds top 4 its 2 great launch coasters grizzly which will be great with the refurb rebel yell which is a classic a better wild mouse reptilian and is incredibly charming compared to carowinds which is awfully corperate and then when people rank parks they put KD in the 20s and carrowinds in the tens kd is my number 2 park and should be at the top of anyones bucketlist
